Blood work done today..A VAP test and another blood test that my LC doctor knows about from her LC research..She is sooooo far ahead of anyone in this town medically..
She is going to lecture at several businesses telling them about the dangers of carbs..

I will find out..It was 2 tests and they send it up to Mayo's to test it..LOL..I think it is the ones recommended by Jonny Bowden in his cholesterol myth book..

Yes, we are lucky to have her..I just posted her on Jimmy's LC doctor site..She has patients that come 50 miles to see her..

I just went to web and found a pic, right clicked, saved image to my computer. Then uploaded it to my new avatar in my profile here at LCFs. If you need more help, just holler!

Sandy, of course Mary Vernon is great with LC hormones blood sugar. But there are other ones in Mo and KC if you just put in Low Carb doctors. The list is on the right and organized by state.

Hoping Buffy found a person.

I loved On Golden Pond. That was filmed in NH. The play was probably great. Love Mike Farrell.

We had a skiff of snow. Not much.

DGS Grant went back to school yesterday. The school nurse has 8 other diabetic kids and DD was impressed with her so that is good. His BS was too high after athletics, so then they had to watch to be sure it didn't drop too low. It was right where they expected at lunchtime and it was too low right at the end of school so they gave him juice. He ended up missing the bus and DD went to get him and we have decided we are all going to take turns picking him up until we get a better handle on all of this. The bus drivers aren't trained to deal with this other than call 911 and Grant isn't quite ready to test himself and know when to take some glucose, etc. Whew, so much to learn. Just hope they come up with more research to help cure this in the future.

Buffy, so glad you're getting all that figured out together with your DGS & new meds.

I'm kind of lost with downtown...

Oh well.

We had a really warm day today, 41 F degrees! Very strange winter.

I had a couple of hungry days, wondered why, then I notice that the dandelion root that I started taking (for strengthening your liver) says appetite stimulant!

Quit taking it & was back to "no hunger"

Gotta be more careful!

Hello friends!

Today started out badly but ended up beautifully. My cute, smart 84-year-old mother e-mailed my skinny sister (SS) and me asking what she should take to help get rid of the horrible pain in her abdomen.

SS and I quickly her to a hospital where they were able to see her quickly (after a disappointing 2-hour wait in her doctor's office...

) and she was doubled-over, writhing in pain. This woman has never had much pain (both her daughters have had numerous kidney stones) and was handling it quietly and bravely, but was in OBVIOUS discomfort!

The people in that hospital swarmed her and not exaggerating, within 40 minutes had drawn blood, done a c/t scan, an ultrasound and urine sample and were able to give her pain medication!

Pancreatitis. Of unknown origin as she is not diabetic, or an alcoholic and her ball bladder had no stones and did not appear sick.

So she is in hospital and in GREAT spirits because she's no longer in pain!
She is really something.

Hi Judy. Prayers for your mom. Glad she is pain free and hoping that this can be controlled. Have to look that up.
