I hit that new low yesterday Judy, was rather surprised b/c I am not paying too much attention right now, just keeping carbs low. It bounced right back up 1 lb today, but I claim a low the second I see it
![]() This is our third treadmill and I have not used one much yet, so I am not bragging yet. I am going to try though, my kids really are after me to do this and after what I just went through, I am a little more motivated to work on my health. Since losing weight has not reduced my need for BP meds, the only thing left is exercise. And, what is sad, I used to be so good at doing it, my 3 DD's all say that the reason they do it is that they grew up seeing me do it. When I passed the baton, I guess I decided I did not want it back ![]()

So - DH got 5 stitches in his finger, Copper has slow mornings but pretty good afternoons, my good friend is here from California and we've had lunch/dinner every day this week, . . . . and I'm tired!
Internet has been going in and out too - Comcast guy comes this afternoon. I'm ready for some normal days! On the plus side I've lost another pound! Amazing what stress will do! |

Hi gals..
Cindy..you know he has CRF and has had it for 3 years..He was slightly under the weather, and off his food a bit, but I gave him 1/4 of a Pepcid AC in a Pill Pocket and that seemed to help his eating...He was off his R/D Hill food from the vet....So, I ordered some Neo renal food from the net and he is enjoying that..I think I'm working in a nursing home..LOL. Buffy...you will be in the 70's soon...Hallelujah!!!!! Poor Copper...It must take a while for him to get up..Does he have a heated doggie bed??? Judy: I am making two hamburger buns for tonight from that magic flour..I need to read the thread more carefully, unless you have more hints.. Gosh, Cindy and Sandy are leaving for warmer temps in a few days....

Carolyn as kind as you have been to me I wish I could make them for you!
![]() Here is how I made my hamburger buns the other night. By the way, I've been too lazy to make a big batch of the dry so I just did this twice: Basic flour mixture (ouizoid) 2 Tbs Oatfiber 1 Tbs coconut flour 1 Tbs almond flour 1 Tbs protein powder 1 Tbs egg white powder 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp glucomannan powder Judy adds a little salt - this is a very neutral flavor and salt is nice here. Ouizoid's original recipe was 2Tbsp. coconut flour and NO almond flour. I thought that was too dry. Dribble in Hood CC or any other LC milk and if your calories can spare it, a little HWC until you have a mixture a little drier than muffin mix. You would not be able to pour it, you will be able to scoop it out. That said, it is very forgiving so don't worry if you get it too "wet". I microwave mine for 1 minute 30 seconds in a 4-1/2" personal casserole dish that is a perfect bun size. But it rises so high it's really nearly too much "bread" for 1 bun! For me, anyway. Microwave it until it's not wet anymore, but don't go too long or it will be too dry. Dump it out of its cooking container immediately onto a paper towel to cool and let the steam escape. I sprinkled some toasted sesame seeds on the bottom of my little casserole last time I made buns and it was delicious. Let me know if I wasn't clear - that happens sometimes with me! ![]()

I don't spray my bowl. I do need a knife around the edge to make it plop out. Spraying couldn't hurt. |

No....I was ironing....LOL.
They both came out great..I used 1 1/2 recipes for two Grab-it corningware bowls.. Perfect size..Nice texture. My sesame seeds went south on me, so I left them out. Can you butter and toast the insides on a frying pan? They are very white.. |

They are indeed very white. <-- I said that in my best Barry White voice.
I have buttered and toasted in a toaster oven, but even then the color didn't change much, I don't think. Coconut flour (you have 1-1/2 Tbsp. in there) will definitely get brown, almond flour....burns.... I don't know for sure! |

Carolyn, yes, I did remember he has CRF. Do you do the fluid boluses? We did that for about 6 months with Rose.
I may do the dumplings this weekend. I have a turkey carcass in the freezer I need to utilize. |

Hey, is Bob's Red Mill coconut flour the one that has the least coconut taste? I LOVE coconut but would prefer the most neutral tasting one.

OMG, DGS 13 was just admittd to the hospital, his Dr. tested his blood glucose at over 400 and thinks type I diabetes. I am just sick with worry. Family won't let me go tonight and hospital doesn't want everyone swarming in. I talked to him and my big boy sounded like my little guy again, he is scared. I will go tomorrow, his Mom will stay the night.

Carolyn, is your local Mexican food place called Maria's? We ate at a Mexican place today in Atchison and their menu said they had a location in Independence so I thought that might be your Mexican restaurant that you talk about sometime. If so, the Pollo Asado is delicious!!!! DH got another injection in his back today and is doing great! I think he'll be fine on vacation. Maybe not dancing on tables but able to walk the beach and around town. I'm so glad this new Dr is helping him so much.

Oh Buffy - so sorry.
![]() It is hard to stay away and I know you've had such a close relationship with this great kiddo. Tomorrow will be a better day. More info and less scary. Sandy's so right - you'll have all the right words and be able to help with the correct foods. Sorry I forgot which of his parents is yours? His mom or dad? So frightening for the parent to contemplate. You've got to try to get some sleep tonight so you can have your time tomorrow at least a little clear-headed. We will ALL pray for him and for your whole family. Really. Sandy dancing on tables is a great place to draw the line. I've seen it many times on America's Funniest Videos. |

This is DD#3's only child. He is the one who has aspergers so is smart as a tack so if any kid can figure this out, he will. Dr. reassured him a lot and they will keep him 2-3 more days to get him all set up before he gets home. Just still in shock over this.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, you gals are my rock! |

Hi ladies.
What a shock for your dgs, Buffy. However glad they caught it. He'll do fine with Mema's help. Cindy, I'll have to look that up. Thanks. Yes we have a Maria's down here, too. Thanks for the tip. Glad your dh is doing great. I have a friend who goes for back injections and it makes a world of difference in her condition. Chinese lunch with exercise friends. No rice. Luckily this place gives small portions. Glad your dh is almost home, Debby. Hi to Sharon, MK, and Judy. Catch you all later. |

Debby! Another day of DH getting closer. Carolyn we traveled back & forth to Independence (arrived Monday, departed Friday) for about 2 years, I think it was for work (oil & gas). We rented a neat house after we stayed in a hotel for a LONG time. After we got the house we were able to cook more. Eating out over a long period of time is hard to do. Eventually you are tired of everything! LOL |
