Bad headache woke me up at 5 am, BP 181/111. Obviously the Clonidine wore off before the 12 hours were up. Took another and BP started dropping right away. Sure hope Dr gets me into cardio dr, today.

I was up ALL night with what I assume is stomach flu and I still feel very yucky. Boy did it ever hit me fast! One thing about kt, by the time my trip rolls around I think I'll have had everything and should be safe on the plane. DH has caught none of this though so I'll still worry about him.

Sorry for all that are battling illness & pain. Hope your day improves.
I'm quite relieved this morning. DH didn't check in after noon yesterday, so it scared me. But he checked in this morning & has made good progress. It looks like he may get to the border by tonight, if all goes well.

To lose the wt. it was high protein, low fat, with clean carbs only, but keeping calories fairly high & rotating them to keep metabolism up. It was a body-builders diet, that works well for me. However I started adding coconut oil for the last 12 lbs. Yesterday was lower fat, I guess. See, I really am not sure what to do for maintenance. I add things, then worry & cut back. With fluctuations from illness & water retention its hard to know what's going on... throw in that I'm building muscle too... I's confused too!

Hurray for your 2 o'clock appointment.. Yes, I hope I have broken the barrier..My body will stay here for a while until it decides to eek out some fat..I don't think it trusts me..

Walked 3 miles at the gym...Leslie Sansone style..which is also lifting legs, etc..

Dh is heading to Houston tomorrow..

I think my cat had the tummy flu, too..Of course, he is a special needs cat with kidney problems..But, he wasn't eating much and looking depressed..I gave him 1/4 of a Pepcid AC in a pill popper this morning and he seems to be eating better now..He has lost weight in the last few months..He looks like a normal cat now..

Sandy...get better fast, fast..

Debby: Maintenance is a mystery and I think it is hard to get a handle on it..It might be an up and down experience..Glad your dh is heading for home.

I would guess that everyone's weight goes up and down a couple of lbs day by day.

Carolyn, found out a while back that TJ Maxx has Iphone covers and they usually are about $7 versus $34 or so, of course limited selection but if you are like a friend of mine who likes to change them all the time.

Poor Alex, so sorry he is sick too, you need to post a picture of him for our new members, he is so pretty. Askley is our pretty girl, the others are boy and I tease DGS when he comes over that he has to tell Ashley she is pretty or she will cry.

I am just killing time until I go to the Dr. To be honest, I not only don't feel like doing much but until we figure this out, I am scared to do much of anything.

Had a bowl of broccoli cheese soup for lunch. Been reading up on the fasting idea, where you confine your eating to say an 8 hour period, then nothing until 16 hours later, repeat. I realized that had been pretty much what i had been doing for a long time. I have my coffee and CO in the AM, then 1 meal and then another within about 8 hours. Since being in ketosis and appetite dropped so much, I don't hardly snack in between although you can, and I don't usually eat anything after dinner. Maybe that has helped move my weight loss along?

I think Carolyn came back with that 8-hour window info from the LC cruise, because I remember doing that at first with her. It wasn't difficult at the time, but for me, before Thanksgiving even happened I wasn't following it.

And I know there are people who are determined to tell us a calorie is a calorie and evidently there's some head-butting over that. However it's hard to argue with the fact that eating so much fat also makes us eat less. Our appetite is suppressed. And what follows? Calorie restriction.

For me, calories do count. I don't spend much time counting them as I'm not in a place mentally I can start tracking again. But I will be in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty satisfied 10 pounds above my goal weight I guess!

So glad your are seeing that doctor today Buffy. It's like pulling hen's teeth sometimes to get those dr's to take you serious. I'm going to be visiting my dr. in another 6 days. She's a sweetheart but I still don't like to go in.

I've started to weigh myself every couple of days instead of every day. I get better results when I'm not so scale needy. I got a nice surprise when I stepped on this morning.

Carolyn so glad to hear you're staying at 149 now. The longer the better huh.

Well dh is wanting me to do the dogs nails. He's the holder and I'm the one with the dremel. Here we go! See you soon.

Sonogram at cardio office shows thickening of walls of heart, which is caused by HPB which in turn causes HPB , increased meds and added one more. First and foremost, get pressure down. See him again Fri. Have to rest now but more later!

DH's last check in @ 4 pm was getting close to the border. We're hoping he gets to his sister's tonight. Although that's going to be a marathon ride.

I got my new laptop today, just got Chrome synced. So nice... have all my bookmarks automatically. Its really fast! Yippee!! The keyboard on this LT is way big... having a hard time hitting the shift & enter keys. Also set up Skype so I can talk with DH face to face when he gets to his sister's.

I had a rough day today, didn't feel very good. I think going to bed stressed out about DH is why. Such a delicate flower... dumb adrenals. Feeling better now.

It warmed up a tremendous amount! I even got to go x-country skiing! Coffee was short & sweet, but I ran out of time, so couldn't get all my errands done... work stuff shoved it out. Will have to make another trip later this week.

Woke up at 4:00 am, tossing and turning and thinking up questions for the Dr. on Friday, poor man, I am putting them in notes on my phone.

Wondering which test he will do next to try to get to the bottom of this. Yes, now we have found my heart walls are thickened but that didn't happen overnight so although we are now aware of that, we still have to figure out what caused BP that had been under control for a long time, suddenly decided to go AWOL. Just praying that he is one of the thorough ones. I did really like him, his staff and office and he is about 2 -3 miles from my house!

It has been almost 24 hours now that my BP has been in a safe range so hoping I feel better today. I am a little doped up from all the meds but better than as wiped out as I was.

Oldest DD is due tomorrow afternoon, I can't wait to see her. Last time I got to see her was in July.

Debby, sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday, hope you slept well last night and feel better today. And, hope DH made it to his sister's house.

I love to get a new computer and always start out with such good intentions that I am going to set "this" one up perfectly and have everything on it perfectly organized. Then I end up as always with pictures strewn all over the hard drive, bookmarks lost or misplaced, notes in picture albums, songs in someone else tunes, on and on and on.

Oh, Buffy we are glad that your bp is under control. I think many of us don't know what is going on with our hearts, and if we had tests we would find out things we weren' t aware of. The good news is that they saw seething and can deal with it. It is a blessing that you are watching your wheat because Dr
Davis puts all his heart patients on a wheat free plan.

Thanks, Buffy. I am keeping track of my calories, etc. For me, 1100 is about right. My fat is always 60-70 percent so that keeps me full most of the time.

I went to bed at 8 last night and just got up a little while ago. I sure needed that! And I feel much better, so that must've been a little 24 hour bug.

I was given a wonderful gift Monday, right before I got sick. A friend of mine is moving and downsizing her home. She has a ton of furniture that won't fit so she's giving it away to her friends if they want it. She took pics of the things she's getting rid of and did a kind of lottery for who got to pick first. Anyway, I'm getting her complete dining room set!! Table with 8 chairs and 2 leaves, a china cabinet and hutch and a sideboard table!!! It's beautiful! The bad part is, they'll bring it when I'm gone and I feel bad that I won't be here to help. I will have my dining room completely empty by then and just waiting. I only wish I felt like I had time to strip the wallpaper that's in there and repaint before hand, but I really don't think I do and I surely don't want another thing to stress about before my trip.
