Nov 1-144 (with my high weight for the month being 146.8 and my low being 141.4)
Dec 1-141.4 (high 147.2 the day after Thanksgiving and my low being 141.4)

So a little loss this month but really just more maintaining. I hope I can continue this through the holidays. I have 4 Christmas parties next week and of course they all include food and drink.

Good morning! Thanks for the new thread!
Kind of nice to see the difference a month makes. I'm still creeping down ever so slowly in my maintenance, even though I added a bit of salt to my diet this month, and continue to work on regulating the thyroid/adrenals. Looking for ward to my Flex Force coming (should be here Monday). Going to work on "toning."

Morning!
Checking in on our new thread. Cindy, great pictures and your sister is a beautiful as you.
Carolyn, so glad to hear Lois is improving.
Yuck on the stomach flu, and it always goes around during the holidays as well.

MK, I know what you mean about Aspen, allergies are better but I simply can not get hydrated there, I drink and drink and drink water, use lip balm, eye drops, skin lotion. I guess you adjust to it. I am the same at my sister's house in Arizona.

Debby, let us know what the Dr. says.

I still am suffering with the sinus problems, will try the ice and that makes sense, cold makes swelling go down.

My Dec. 1 weight is 192.8, so a loss of about 1 1/2 lbs for November. I did see a low of 192.4 but just one day so can't claim it today. I am not logging my food right now, just not in the mood to be that diligent, just eating LC/HF and MP. I might have lost a teeny bit more if I had all my numbers correct but will do that again when I do get in the mood

Here I am with high hopes that something great will happen in regards to my weight loss. Weighing in at 280 once again! Old age and no metabolism is the pits.

Have a good day and for me I'm going to try to do better at this.

Hi ladies..

Oh, Cindy..what a great picture of your grandparents' grave and your sister is just darling..How fun for you..I have reconnected with 2 cousins doing Ancestry..It is fun
to realize how much "family" there is everywhere..

Yeah for our losers...

You should go on Survivior, Cindy. Ever thought of it? They seem to always need a nurse..

Sharon: Yup, menopause is not our friend..Most women our age have glucose metabolism problems, according to my doctor..Do you ever check your blood glucose throughout the day to see how the foods affect you??

Buffy: Hope your sinuses are better this week..The weather is going to be warm and windy and all those leaves are flying around..Not good...

Wind, warm, leaves = more headache. If it continues to be as bad as this week was, I might go by Dr. office and see about a steroid shot.

Sharon, not sure if you are following a particular LC plan or if you keep a log of your food, that really helped me get on track when I came back to LC WOE in Sept. I am being lazy about logging right now but if weight loss goes from a slow crawl to a stop, I will get back to logging.

Yes I do Carolyn. I was taking different types of meds when I was at my highest weight controlling Type 2 Diabetes. Since 2009 I've been keeping sugar and starch foods low and now have that under control and no meds. I have meter and check fasting morning bs and have started checking it in the evening as well. I just keep gaining when I eat more fat. Everyone says you need the fat and eat more so I have cut back on protein and up'd the fat and my scale puts me up in weight. I'm just not the norm I guess.

Sharon, how many carbs a day are you eating? I know you mentioned keeping sugar and starch foods low. The high fat, modified protein only works if the carbs are low, for some people as low as under 20 g a day or even lower. Some people can eat up to 50 with high fat but probably not any diabetics.

The meds metformin and victoza really helped me lose weight from 242 down to less than 210, without any dieting but I do applaud you for keeping BG under control with no meds. It can be a trade off.

December 1st weight 162.5 It's been a struggle. I lost 6 #'s right away then regained, then slowly lost.I'll try this one more month and and see what happens. I do like all the high fat foods I can eat, so not getting bored with the plan, just impatient to lose more, faster!!

Janet..Wowowo..good for you..Most of us are up and down all month because of water issues, etc.. Be patient..That is the hardest thing to do..The weight didn't come on in a month, so it is better when it takes its time leaving..

My LC doctor says to keep calories around 1300 or a bit more. Have you been keeping track, Sharon? For us menopausals, too many calories make us gain..

Math was always my poor subject! I cannot for the life of me figure out how much protein , calories and fat I should eat. I looked at one lady's stats and she was just about like me only she is active and I am sedentary. I am 69 years old, 5'4" small frame and 162# My brain refuses to cooperate with what I'd like to do.

So if Red is around this morning, I'd love to have him help me with this today. I'd feel more comfortable with trying to follow this plan better if I actually had a plan!

Thanks for listening!

I'm still eating blueberries once a day as I can't seem to stop the fruit all together. I have it with 2% greek yogurt. Everything veggie is low glycemic. Lunch and dinner there is always green leafy veggies and dinner something like broccoli or summer squash. I have tomato in my salad and avocado when it's available. But as for counting I'm just not good at that.

Sorry to be such a downer today. I haven't given up yet. Just having rant. Take care and enjoy you weekend.

Yes, that thread is really helpful. Also, I was so afraid of the higher calories but found that I can shoot for that and still s-l-o-w-l-y lose, it might be faster if I cut them more and many people have to keep them lower, but if the higher calories will work for me, than I am more comfortable with that, even if losing slower. I probably don't hit the range that my macros show though, I just have such a small appetite these days. But, I don't worry about calories either. I know Kristn had great success with keeping hers lower and Carolyn has to keep hers lower, it is definitely YMMV type of thing.

Sharon, all the foods you are eating are certainly very healthy ones and I see why you incorporate them, but, you might be surprised at how many carbs you are actually eating a day. That, combined with high fat just might not work for everyone. Maybe in maintainence. We each have to decide which route to go.

Don't worry about being a downer, here is where we can come to vent our frustration.

Hi!
Welcome to December!!

Congrats to all our losers!!!

I'm maintaining.

I tried a new prescription medicine last night.
This has been the worst 24 hours I've had in a long time!

Needless to say I won't be taking it again tonight!

So today hasn't been very productive at all!

Love your new avatar.

Went cross-country-skiing today for exercise again. The pain didn't return. Snow is now 18 inches deep... such a good work-out. But half an hour of that & Shelby's just getting warmed up!

I am feeling quite a bit better this afternoon & evening than I have in days.

Hello friends!!

Cindy how beautiful!! Thank you so much for posting those pictures.

Carolyn - congrats on your loss and I am sure you will be solidly in the 140s soon.

Buffy I'm also being lazy about charting right now. I'm going to eat very low carb and moderate protein through December, then I'll pick it all up again. I'm just happy to feel the way I'm feeling and have lost as much as I have.

Sharon good luck figuring out the method that works best for you. It can be tedious and sometimes frustrating, that is for sure! It does sound like you've had great success already.

Janet - woo hoo!! What a great loss you've had.

Mary Kay that is a D-A-R-L-I-N-G picture in your new avi. I am so sorry about whatever RX did not treat you nicely.

I went to Stillwater today with my mother and sister to watch my mother's high school football team go down to defeat at their state championship. It was fun to be there, though!

Mary Kay: Maintaining is good..Prescriptions have so many side effects..It is wise to stop it..

Sharon: Many of us have tweaked our plans until "things start moving"..Stay with it..
You can do it..

Debby: I can't believe how much snow you get....Amazing..Glad you can enjoy the cross country skiing..

Tree is up and the living room is decorated..I don't decorate any other rooms..Like some peeps do.
