Breakfast lasagna? Could you lead me to that recipe? I'd love to try that.

Dear Sandy,
I had a stomach virus the weekend before Thanksgiving. My sister had it the weekend after Thanksgiving. My dh just called me on his way back from the lake saying he had to pull over to throw up... .Hope you are OK and everyone else, too. Wash your hands wash your hands wash your hands wash your hands. |

Stomach flu was over by Monday. Now I'm getting a respiratory something? I'm sure it's whatever my poor baby grandson is suffering with now. And of course, he had to share it with Nanny. My Dr called me in a Z-pak so hopefully that'll nip it in the bud.
I have a chicken in the soup pot making some of Buffy's delicious sounding broth so that should help heal me too, lol. And I have a pork roast in the oven. My house has warring smells going on right now and they both smell wonderful! That lasagna sounds yummy!! I saved it for later. I'm going to try to get DD to make it for Christmas breakfast.

Judy....Oh no on your dh.. Poor dh...Hope you don't catch it again..You probably won't if you stay away a bit..
The lasagne is very yummy...I used a slightly smaller casserole because the one pound of sausage wasn't filling up the bottom of my larger one.. |

I hope his flu passes quickly, Judy.
Yes, my Dr is great that way. Thank goodness! I made Buffy's chicken broth. Yum! I still have to pick the chicken. That's what I call deboning the chicken. |

Well he's now eating the meatloaf and green beans I made for dinner.
Everything is fine - must have just had some passing nausea. He's a type 1 diabetic - those things happen to him sometimes. Buffy's broth is on my list of things to make. I actually bought some chicken tenderloins today to make the recipe you posted a day or two ago! |

So many of us sick, I swear I am calling the Dr. again in the morning, I must have sinus infection, still have the headache. Don't feel good and tired of being whiney!
The casserole sounds perfect for Christmas morning. Glad you like the broth Sandy, freeze what you don't use in small containers, so handy to bring out. If you want a cream of chicken soup, add some cream to it when you warm it, add small pieces of chicken and if you want to thicken it a little, whisk a couple of teaspoons of xanthan gum into melted butter so it doesn't lump, then add to soup.

Sorry so many of you are sick! Be blessed
and get well! ![]() I used the Flex Force today, still not sure what I'm supposed to be doing, might have done too much again. Took me 40 minutes... Sweat!! Also took Shelby for a 20 minute ski, which made her happy. She also got to go with dh for snow-shoe hike... which he was the lucky one to be on snow shoes... trying to make her burn lots of energy... she's doing great! And getting way more energetic! ![]() Speaking of energetic, I'm feeling great again. Thyroid is better regulated again. I came home & vacuumed the house, finished the laundry & all that exercise... still feel totally energized. I keep amazing myself. Imagine how dh feels seeing this stranger in the house? ![]() Take it easy & get well soon all of you (& your families)! ![]()

Debby, like Judy, don't know how long you weren't feeling well, but you are really in your groove now and I am so happy for you.
Put a call into the Dr.s office, they are only there until noon on Fridays so suspect they might call something in for me and save me a trip to the office. Yes! All my whining paid off this week, I must have burned up some extra calories, . Saw a new low on the scale this morning of 191. I am so glad to see it as I was getting a little discouraged at not seeing any movement since Thanksgiving. It doesn't take much, but I do need to see some movement on the scale or the tape measure to reassure me that I am doing things right.Got an order for 5 lbs of toffee this morning, they need it tomorrow and they want half of it with white chocolate topping, so need to get that made up today. Also, DD ordered 15 1/2 lb boxes for gifts and I want to have that ready for her tomorrow, that is already made, I just need to package it. |

Buffy!!!Thank goodness your imaginary whining paid off! I am at a new low low, too. I am 152 this morning my long-ago (last month) lowest low was 152.5. Today was the first day of my new higher-amount of thyroid and higher dosage of BHRT. Fingers crossed for just overall better-feeling and health. Happy day to my friends! And I promise I would have said that even if I hadn't lost .5 pounds! In December! ![]() |

That toffee sounds so delicious! That is one of my very favorite candies. It sure is keeping you hopping this year Buffy, good for you!!
The z-pak the Dr called in for me is really working. I can tell I feel better already. I'm glad I went ahead and called in to ask for something right away. DH's company party is Sat night and after having been exposed to him and the baby I was pretty sure my number had rolled up. I hope you're able to get something today and that you start feeling better very soon, Buffy. Woohooo you two on your new lows!!! I think everybody here is actually doing great right now and that's saying something in the midst of all the holiday cheer and treats. |

Doctors office already called back and said they sent in a RX for Augmentin, or however it is spelled. I love the zpak but he seems to be stuck on the Augmentin right now, whatever works. 10 days of it with the steroid shot and I should be a jolly old elf by Christmas.
Orders for 2 more lbs of toffee just came in. ![]() |

LOL!! Yup! Well, I had 3 or 4 days with that migrating joint pain & tiredness when my thyroid meds were too high. Dropped it down to the sweet-spot & the energy feeling is back! Just a few twinges in ankles, which may have something to do with the Flex stuff.Quote:

Congrats Judy! You're moving in the right direction! And that blessed health & good feeling will increase with each step. I was thinking that yesterday, about the new me... I was skiing up the driveway, in 23 degree coldness, beautiful day, but cold... totally enjoying both the exercise & being outside! Who knew?! Food & gluttony never paid dividends like these! ![]() |

![]() Judy! Great to hear about your new low as well. We are getting there my friend. I am more than a little amazed at how I and my appetite are feeling this holiday season It was so painful when I was younger and always trying to stay slim, the holidays would come and it was sooo hard to go to all the gatherings and try not to overeat or indulge and that food called out to me like a siren, it was almost impossible to control, then at some point, before or at least by Christmas, I would give into it and by New Years eve, I can remember not wanting to go to whatever we had planned because by then I had gained at least 5 or more lbs and felt fat, ugly and bloated beyond anything I can imagine. Now, probably no one else could see those 5 lbs but to me they felt like 50 lbs. I had such an out of control appetite those days. |

Yes, I remember those days well Buffy. Ugh!!!
If I take Augmentin they have to call in a scrip for diflucan too. Every single time!!! Ugh! And I hate yeast infections so I try to avoid the antibiotics that cause them as much as I can. I need to make a chicken salad for the weekend with all my freshly stewed chicken meat. Yum!!! |

I just routinely take my probiotics these days, include them in my daily pill box. I didn't know that some antibiotics were worse about that than others? I usually get one each round too, then have to do the 3 day inserts, yukko. The diflucan works but I always forget to have them call that in.

I take my probiotics twice a day, but still have to resort to diflucan if I take augmentin or amoxicillin. Good luck Buffy!! Maybe you can double up on them??

Just popping in to see how everyone is. We're just heading out for a Walmart shop. Not the best place to be for a senior but just have to go for undergarment so have no choice. Glad to see you all are getting rid of the ekkies and Buffy your toffee is really moving. Great to see.
Take care. Time to start moving. |
