Debby, if you can't find steamed stockings you can always draw on a seam with eyeliner like they did during WW2. I hope you find the pearls.

Buffy, dh also has a bad head cold. He did get meds but I'm scared I'm going to get it now especially since I just had that flu.

I think it's over with. I sure hope it stays away and that dh does not get it!

Dr.s office line to the nurses went to voicemail, so not sure when they might get back to me. Hope to get in this morning, the steroid shot usually takes effect quickly. I feel rotten right now.
Sandy, hope your DH gets over his cold without passing to you.
MK, I am so tired this morning that your off to exercise post made me even more tired, LOL

OBVIOUSLY this is anecdotal, but the last cold I had was several years ago. And it really felt like I was "sick" with a cold. Remember when it didn't matter that much? Now it's a big deal - or has been for me. Anyhoozle, I started taking Vitamin D and coincidentally have not had a cold since.

However I did get the stomach flu that was going around...

I'm anxious for you to get that shot, Buffy!

Just getting here and so much to catch up with. MK you had a post taken?

Sandy glad to see your flu is better. I know, how about wearing a medical mask when you are with Dh so the germs don't spread. You sure don't need any cold too.

Judy it's been years since I have had a cold. I take 2000 mg vit D by doc suggestion and that may be why. I also have flu shots ea. year. Oh yeah I knock on wood when I see it too, .

Sinus headaches are just terrible. Hope you are able to see your doctor soon Buffy.

Debby I'm the same way about wearing a dress. You look so cute in your picture. What fun.

Well I need to stop this fun and get busy for a Costco run and walk with the fur boys. Check with you all later.

Hi ladies..

Oh, Buffy..praying that the nurse gets back to you..Call again..and again..Do you have an Urgent Care where you just show up???

Glad you are better Sandy..When dh is sick, I always sleep in another room..

Making some of Barbo's cranberry-pecan tassies for Cookie Exchange tomorrow. I will
keep the "bad" cookies in the freezer in separate bags and bring them out for Christmas Day..

Did my SBurn, went to the chiro, had blood drawn...doing laundry. I'm glad I don't have to work outside the home..Nothing would get done and dh might have to pitch in..LOLOL.

Setting my DVR for 4:00 for Dr. Oz..I don't like him very much, so he better be nice to Dr. Davis.

Still feeling better so I think it's truly gone and good riddance! I went to my chiro to get my adjustment. I hope that helps my back SOON! I'm icing it off and on today. And then I've been on the phone with my dad and his doctors trying to get his testing set up to see why he's so anemic. I finally got that done and am trying to catch up on laundry that got behind when I was called for baby-duty and then got the flu.
DH and I both take Vit D and rarely get a cold anymore, but this year sinus stuff has just been terrible! He's much better now and I'm thinking positively that I won't get it. Lol.

It's so nice outside-in the 70s!!! I really should try to get out and take a walk. I know my pooch would like that.

waiting to hear from the nurse, already called back once and she told me she was waiting for Dr. to approve. He knows my history, so easier to go there than an urgernt care for something like this. I am miserable today and grumpy! I don't feel grumpy too often, wow, would hate to feel like this all the time. How do grumpy folks stand it, LOL.

Buffy, I hope you can get in today. If not, tell that nurse you are grumpy and you're coming to share it with her!! I hate being grumpy too but sometimes you just can't help yourself, lol.

It's because it's a Pinterest recipe/picture and the mod has to post it but it posts pretty quick. This turned out well!! I will change the Almond Breeze to 2/3 of a cup but it is nice and thick and chocolate!! If you like tapioca, you will like this. They have other flavors. I will report back.

My Finished product:

After eating it, I decided 1/2 cup of AB was perfect. Just made 2 more for tomorrow and an experiment with Jay Robb protein powder. Took 1 cup of AB, 1 scoop Jay Robb and 4 Truvia packets and put them in the blender on low and blended for 30 seconds. Then stirred in Chia seeds and a dash of pure vanilla and split it between 2 custard cups. Will check that tomorrow and see how it is. The chocolate is perfect and has 8 grams of fiber! A tip on making it: I heated the AB to boiling and then whisked in the cocoa powder. The blogger who posted the recipe said it was a little hard to blend the cocoa powder but in boiling liquid, is is easy. Also easy to dissolve the Truvia this was.

Well I would not have guessed that boiling the almond breeze was the key - that makes sense, though. I'm definitely going to try this!

How did you all think Dr. Davis did on Dr. Oz?
Seemed like a good reception to me.

Yummm...Dottie had a white tapioca pudding recipe with the chia seeds..Yummmy..Chocolate looks great..

Oh, Buffy...praying for some relief for you....

Dr. Davis was great...great..and the candy bar/bread test was super, duper..Of course,
the bread had no butter on it to slow down the sugar rise and candy bars aren't just sugar, there is fat in there, but it made an excellent point..

Let's hope some peeps will listen..

I love tapioca so I just might have to try this! Thanks Cindy.

I taped Dr. Oz so I have no opinion as of yet.

I got called for baby-duty again tomorrow. Just the older one. He threw up at daycare so he can't go back for 24 hours. He's got a cold with runny nose and drainage and I think that's gagging him but he's been surrounded by stomach flu too so who knows? I pray my back is up to it by tomorrow. And the first of my Christmas parties is tomorrow night. Then one Wed. night and Sat. night and then next Tues night. Whew! I'm already worn out, lol.

Buffy, any luck????

Nope, not anymore. I'm just not equipped any more for little ones. So I go over to my DDs. She has everything and it's close and I feel totally comfortable there.

LOL... Are you kind of the same way about shorts too? I feel pretty conspicuous in them too.

Well, as I figured, my TSH dropped below the recommended 0.40-5.50. It was 0.09. So it was good to drop back. He recommends I go back to alternating the dosage & see how I feel. He also ordered a test on my vitamin D levels next time.

My TSH levels were 0.01 on that same range, but I'm taking Natur-throid..so my dr. says it is fine because my T4/T3 are in a good range at the same time..She doesn't look at the TSH much at all..Your doctor doesn't test the T4/T3? I guess seeing how you feel is important, too..

Cool Carolyn! Thanks for that. Yeah, I go to a clinic & one does test for the other, but this one doesn't. Its more expensive, so I don't push it. He's OK with me regulating by how I'm feeling, & the naturopath is helping too. I didn't feel the need to ask for a specialist, so will wait to play that card... I would like to keep my TSH closer to the bottom, because I have been feeling much better. Except for that dip & the migrating joint pain that happened when it did. So close! I think its very close now..

Debby with my loose skin shorts is one thing you wouldn't catch me dead in. I have enough loose skin to provide for another whole person.

LOL! So, you must of lost a lot of weight, hey?
I'm hoping loose skin shrinks back. It does seem to be shrinking somewhat.

Congrats on that!

Loose skin.... we'll just have to deal with that, I reckon.
