Morning!
Sharon, I can pull up the Vimeo and start playing, then my computer quits responding so I am not able to watch the whole thing but was able to listen to her. Maybe after the holidays I will have time to make her bread. I really like and admire her and her recipes. Had another little melt last night, was down another lb this AM. I am not sure what is happening but I am so happily claiming it. Hopefully this is just my reward for sticking to it so faithfully in Nov. with only a 1-2 lb loss for Nov. I am sure that one of these days this old body is going to notice it is missing some of it's parts and will come screeching to a halt again for a while. By spring I am really hoping that I have to buy all new clothes!!!! Sandy, sure thinking of you and your family. Little Bobby has his school Christmas program today at 1:00 so will head to that. They are leaving right after the program to fly to New York for a couple of days in the city before they head back home for Christmas. Hope the weather cooperates. Funny thing happened yesterday, doorbell rang and it was a guy who had bought a lb of toffee from DH a week ago and decided they wanted 2 more lbs. His wife had thrown away my phone number so going on DH's name, he hunted us down and found our house! I told him he was my very first customer to actually come to my "candy store" and buy toffee Have enough made right now to fill my last 2 orders but going to make about 5 more lbs just to have on hand in case anyone else wants it, or more. Family will eat what is left next week.

Probably really looks like Christmas at your house Debby. Afraid Texas doesn't hardly ever look like Christmas but there is a chance of snow Christmas day.
How about the rest of you, are you going to get snow from the storm? DD in NE said it hit them last night, no school today although DD went in to work in peace at her school. My sister in Iowa was expecting it and cousin in Eastern Iowa said they were supposed to get snow today or tonight. |

It's cold here but it won't last. They whispered we might get snow Christmas evening, but have now said we won't which is fine - I always worry about people traveling around Christmas. And MK I'm sure thinking about your traveler.
Sandy, I am prayerful for your father today, and all your family. |

Hi..
I'm babysitting at the gym for my friend. I did my 2 mile Leslie Sansone workout this morning..I love her DVDs and there is a new one for 5 days..If you did the program each day, it would add up to 17 miles a week.. Oh..hope Cindy and Sandy can connect..Praying for her dad.. I think I'm done with my shopping..Sinlaw wants $$$ to help him pay for the Sundance Festival, so I think I will wrap up some $$ in packages..I did get him a few things, of course. He is on a diet and eating Clif Bars for breakie....44 carbs per bar, but only 250ish calories. He is on the LC plan..but needs to lose 60 pounds.. Buffy...Does making toffee make you thin? You are amazing..After we all get skinny, I'm ordering some toffee from you.. We have wind from the storm...It's 40 degrees, but really windy, so it seems colder. My Christmas meal this weekend won't be perfect carbwise. I'm serving peas..LOL..and will put a little bit of stuffing on my Crock pot Chicken. No rice/noodles/sugary desserts..

Carolyn, I am afraid I will wake up and this losing streak was a dream! I am so thankful for it.
I have decided what I am going to do about Christmas food. I am going to have a CAD style meal that day for our Christmas dinner. Will eat some of each thing I would like to have, plus dessert but it must be eaten within one hour and no other carbs for the day. I was going to just LC it all day but decided that I would celebrate and enjoy Christmas dinner along with my family. Then back at it! |

As soon as I left after Bobby's little program, which was delightful, I called my Dr.'s office to see if I could get in today or tomorrow b/c I am still having such sinus headaches. No open slots so I left a message for the nurse. They will call me back and hopefully will have some suggestions or call something in. I did pick pick up an otc sinus pain relief thing at Walmart, took some of that about 1/2 hour ago.
Got another order for 3 lbs of toffee to be delivered Sunday so will still be making toffee for 2-3 more days it looks like ![]() |

Oh, except for the headaches I feel fine, just a little tired and I think that is from toffee, not illness!

Dear Friends,
Buffy is making fun of me on other threads! ![]() I'll check out that Carb Addicts Diet...you know what? It seems like sometime back in the 80s I did an Eades diet that allowed me to eat no carbs except for one meal and then maybe finish it in an hour. I'll check on this. I didn't lose on that either, Buffy, because I was completely overdoing it at the one meal. As usual. Don't know how I've gained so much weight over my lifetime! That's a head-scratcher. |

I hope your sinuses feel better..Maybe a really cold snap will help you, Buffy..CAD was the first LCarbish diet..I do think I ate way too many carbs at my one meal..LOL..My son did this one summer and really dropped weight. Of course, he was running and his "carbs" were bread from Subway or a hamburger bun..
I wonder how Sandy's dad is doing?? I hope she checks in... |

Here I am. Whew, what a day. What a last couple of days! Dad finally started showing some improvement this today although they still had to give him 2 more units of blood today, so that makes 5 total in 2 days. His bleeding has slowed way down, his blood pressure is back up where it should be and his hemoglobin was high enough that the dr. decided against doing another surgery tonight. They'll continue to monitor him closely but hopefully the worst is over.
Cindy did come to see me today and if Dad would've had to go back into surgery tonight she would've been there. She's such a sweetheart. I really appreciated her coming by and talking to me. My brother, SIL and DH got to meet her too, which was nice. I really appreciate all the prayers and concerns from all of you here too. Most of us may have never met, or will ever meet, but I feel like we're all friends and meeting really doesn't change that part. Thank you all. My brother will be on "dad duty" tomorrow as I need to go with DH out of town to take his dad to an eye specialist. We will leave very early and be home late tomorrow. Thank goodness the snow didn't go very far south of us as that's the direction we're headed.

Oh, Sandy..so happy your dad is doing better..I wonder where the bleeding was coming from? Hopefully, it did stop and he start on the road to recovery. So happy that Cindy came to see you..What a comfort she was, I'm sure..
Be careful on the road..We don't have any snow down here, so I am hoping where you are taking your fatherinlaw won't be bad either. Hope you can get some sleep tonight. |

First of all, Sandy so glad your dad is better and also, how wonderful that Cindy came by and you two met, someday I truly hope we wll meet. I am more than willing to come up to the midwest if we can work something out.
Dr called something in, not sure what yet. The OTC stuff helped so I am sure it is sinus related, |

Hi Girls. Buffy, that would be so much fun! Carolyn could come up as she lives close. Cold here this morning. 16 degrees when I went out to my car! The horses have heavy blankets on. Here is a picture of the new girl. Cloudy day, she was moving and it was taken with a cell phone. It doesn't do her justice!

Oh Cindy, she is beautiful as are you! Is she named, maybe I missed that? You look very regal riding her.
Judy, today is your big day to entertain, have fun and report back after your guests have left and you are rested up. Then you can take baby steps to start your slow "turtle" burn, like, O p e n the D V D. Rest your muscles a day..... You know I don't do one exercise, so if you want to send me a cyber punch, let me know, I can duck for exercise ![]() Nails today and make more toffee. Hopefully I can make enough today to finish my orders for this weekend and then have some extra in case anyone wants some. DS and DDIL will be up towards the end of next week and can take home any extra. She is itty bitty and loves it and he loves to take it to work. Will send DH to pick up my new RX and get started on it. Woke up with a headache still. The OTC stuff works well but wears off after 4 hours. Stay warm everyone, my family on both sides of Iowa and in NE all got the blizzard. |

Just saying hello before the whirlwind!
The house is beautiful and we are fairly-well planned, so everything should be a mess by dinnertime! HA! Cindy - you and your new love are just beautiful. Buffy you are making me laugh about the Slow Burn. I think if I want to ever see my goal, I'm going to have to exercise. I haven't exercised in 6 months. My swimming friends may not even remember me! Good day to all and I'll look forward to "seeing" you later! Still keeping Sandy and all her family in our prayers - as are all of you! ![]() |
