Yes, wishing everyone a wonderful holiday..It's hard to stay on plan, but I'm going to do the best I can..Anyone?
Good knitting, Carolyn! And happy birthday to Beth!
So nice to look forward to their visit.

I s-l-o-w-l-y roasted 3 turkey legs for the meat and the drippings for gravies.

I made the first batch of gravy with flour for the rest. I just think at Thanksgiving nobody wants anything different. They want what they've always had.
I tasted it - CRAZY salty.
And I made A LOT because.....gravy!

I had a wee tiny bit of turkey broth and drippings left. Decided to make my own gravy. Put some fatty meat bits in the pan, added butter, knew I could NOT add flour.... added the turkey broth..... added some chicken broth..... then I remembered I had that glucomannan powder I'm too afraid to use.

I subscribe to their threads and am interested, but it's intimidating to me.
I put in about 3/4 tsp VERY slowly and by golly it thickened up! I tasted it and it tasted good. I put in a dollop of HWC and felt sorry for the rest of my family and their salty gravy because mine was freakin' awesome.

SO I started a new roux with unsalted butter and unsalted chicken broth I bought before LC. Thank goodness! Made a new unsalted portion of gravy, added it to the salty, and dh says it is now fine.
Sheesh. Gravy.

Have a regular pumpkin pie in the oven and made Maria's sub bread. It's diced and will dry out overnight. Carolyn I'll tell you tomorrow if it was good in the dressing. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be. The bread itself is a little different - uses 5 Tbsp. ground psyllium husk. So it's a"tough" bread.
Like most of these - not much flavor. I added a tsp. poultry seasoning. Can't taste it.

So tasting that salty gravy (that's what I get for not tasting as I went along) was my only downfall today. Pfffffft. Not worried.

Buffy I use oat flour sometimes. Please ignore my stats under my picture proclaiming I am grain free! (at least I think it still says that).

Cindy you are an awesomely awesome person to reverse the diabetes of that cat!! Think how much better it feels and I wonder why nobody else tries such a thing??

That is a pretty wreath.

Buffy I am so glad you found another fantastic recipe. I only have about 20 that were posted recently I can't wait to try! HA HA! But brownies - such a good thing to have in our reach. Of course I've saved and printed this one!

I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Cindy..You are amazing and have lengthened kitty's life. Hopefully, your ex will keep on plan..

Judy: Gosh....Glad you could fix the salty gravy..Yours sounds wonderful. When I make stuffing I am heavy handed on the poultry seasoning...How much are you putting in?

Beth's scarf is a deep red, then tonight I made her a green cowl..I love the scarf pattern..

Have to pack my own coffee for the trip as McD's is closed tomorrow..Good for them..

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving..

Carolyn I might just pass by with the poultry seasoning in the stuffing, but now that you mention it, I used to use the herbed Pepperidge Farm dry bits. So I might go a little heavier. It's just sauteed onion, celery, some more turkey meat, an egg, broth. Just one of those things I really like WITH GRAVY ON IT!

Have a safe safe trip and I agree - glad McDonald's is closed!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my dear dear friends here. Hope you all have a wonderful day with your families.

Hmm, I didn't feel too good last night, thought maybe it was the swerve from the brownies, I overdid those just a little, but then up for the past 2 hours and several visits to the bathroom. A little afraid I might be getting the stomach virus DH had last weekend I am going to fix a cup of tea and read for a while and hope I wake up feeling good.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Part of my Thanksgiving prayer is that Buffy doesn't have that virus.
And part is gratefulness for all these LC friends!

Went back to bed and woke up feeling fine. And, thanks to the bathroom trips, back down to 192.8!!! Thankful to that.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Have fun with family and friends, ladies.

Buffy so glad you are feeling like normal and Hooray for the weight numbers!

My salad is made and I like Judy made my own gravy to take along with cranberry sauce. I'm ready for anything that comes today.

WOW Buffy that is a great Thanksgiving present!! Virus-free and down in weight.

Beautiful day here - had our big lunch (food provided by us ) with our kiddos.

In an hour we're having my mother for round two.
That sounds like we'll be eating my mother, but I promise we won't.
It's against the law.

Yay!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday with your family!

It was 15 degrees F. here this morning & now its snowing like crazy. Beautiful! The river looks like a slushy already too. And!!! I got my Plimsol Bog boots I've been waiting for them to get here for 2 weeks.

Shelby continues to improve. I left her home today, instead of taking her to the church... she's getting a bit too lively to have in my office. I'm still feeding her very high protein & high fat, trying to get things moving. We're so thankful for her healing!!

Hi Oriana,

I eat coconut oil, I cook my eggs in coconut oil or bacon fat. I eat bacon, cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, avocados, full-fat salad dressing, mayonnaise, butter - things like that.

It has been advised to eat a moderate amount of protein, but maybe you'll choose to eat the crispy skin on your chicken, or choose a fattier type of steak or other meat.

Keeping low carb, moderate protein, high fat. The fat is very appetite-suppressing.

Hi ladies..

Weather was wonderful..Lunch at Lidia's was great. I had filet of sole..and didn't even finish it..Saving room for a small square of dessert.

Of course, on the way home we hit a deer.. The side front panel of the car is a bit squished and the windshield is cracked bigtime..But we were fine and Gary made sure
the deer wasn't on the highway..We couldn't see him anywhere..So, calling the insurance company tomorrow for a fixup. We have 3 vehicles for 2 peeps..So, Gary gets to drive the red pickup and I get his old Camry..It's all good.

I am SO glad you two were all right. That is so frightening.
It is definitely the time of year for them to jump in front of us.

We lived at Grand Lake for a couple of years and DS was driving home from town and the deer literally hurled himself at the driver's door. Sheesh.

I know another thread advocates 85% of the calories you eat should come from fat (should possibly work up to that slowly! - too much fat all at once might make your stomach upset), 15% protein and 5% carbs.
Is that what you mean?

Yes, it was a blessing that we were fine..Brett was in the backseat plugged in, so he didn't know anything.

Brett is heading to Wallie's tonight at 10 to hopefully save $50 on a 52 inch plasma tv. He will call Gary if he gets one and Gary can bring the pickup to get it..LOL..

Woke up early today, didn't have that Thanksgiving carb overload hangover I guess, but woke up and trying to get DH to get out and go look at TV's. Did I mention that our living room 65 inch big screen died on us on Wednesday? He isn't very willing. I know we are too late to get the big deals but I figure there are still deals out there anyway. I am probably going to be sorry, I don't like the crowds but I do have to get a wedding gift today anyway.

Judy, I have been using the glucomannan powder successfully in gravy. I melt about 3 T of butter, then whisk in my powder, then stir it into my gravy. Yesterday I used some of my chicken broth, cream, salt and pepper, and the powder, some drippings off the turkey and had a great LC gravy to go over my turkey. Made regular for the rest of the family. Also made my cranberries, half with splenda and half with sugar. Added orange zest, it was very good.

Oriana, I eat lots of Coconut oil, butter, heavy whipping cream, bacon fats, no shortage of ways to get my fats in for me. As far as calories, anywhere from 1200 to over 2000, I don't stick to just one range, I have been just eating to hunger the past week or two. What plan are you following?

Hi ladies..

Insurance man is still on vacation..Hopefully, he will check his messages..LOL..

I was 150 this morning..I'm still in shock. Buffy: I started taking the two Metformin (500 ER) together with dinner. I think that helped as opposed to taking one at night and one in the morning.

Hey, I made a nice hot easy cereal this morning:::

Get some water boiling in a kettle...In a cereal bowl mix 1/3 cup or less of golden flaxseed meal, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, (I added some pecan meal..you could add a couple of Tbs. of almond meal), touch of salt..Then add your
boiling water slowly and stir until it is the texture you want. You can add the sweetener
after it is all put together to get it right..Add some chopped nuts if you like. I poured a couple of Tbs. of heavy cream over it and there it was..Quick and easy and different than eggs..

Carolyn congrats on the weight loss!
Sounds like metformin is necessary and keeping you healthy.

Love the idea for the hot cereal.

More cooking and cleaning today for me. My cousin and her family are in town and we'll have a 2nd Thanksgiving tonight - at my mother's, but we're all taking food.
They don't eat meat, but do eat fish, so DH will smoke salmon and tilapia.
I'll take a big green salad.

Carolyn, is Metformin a perscribed drug or something you can buy over the counter? I wonder if that is what I need to get my weight going down. I'm a strict on plan eater and nothing is happening. This has been going on for most of this month.
