Great suggestion Judy! I can taste it right now! Anything with hwc is delicious
![]() Well the pulled pork is gone. We had our son's partner Kathy with us last night for dinner after picking her up from her elderly care job. I was glad to have had that in the wings as it was just warm up and eat last night. Today's another warm one here in Calif. I guess well be getting our walk in this evening when the cool breeze arrives. Quote:

Good morning ladies,
Day off for us today, catch up on stuff. Installing new tv & pvr (hopefully). I was going to try to get books done today, but with dh working here is so many interruptions. We had an "artichoke feed" last night. I dipped in melted coconut oil. It was yummy! But I ate too much... didn't feel too good. Head-ache-y today...Puppy is learning good behavior last 2 days... not to jump on kids... stay off couch. She had kiddo's to play with yesterday... they wore her out pretty fast. Coyotes were singing last night while kids were here - a new experience for them. ![]()

Hi everyone..
Busy day again..Need to work on my Bible Study this afternoon...eeek.. I think too much coconut oil can "detox" you..headache/tummy ache/etc...That is what I have read, Debby. Oh...love diet root beer and cream..Another great way to do this is to take the whipped cream in a can and spray on the inside of a large glass and freeze for 20 minutes. Then take it out and pour your diet root beer over it..The cream kinda of freezes like ice cream.. Made some soup in a crockpot..Put in the leftover meatloaf..LOL..and some pepperoni I had in the fridge. I will bake some bacon later and throw that on top..

Sharon, it's funny how having a great deal of food can be serendipitous - all of a sudden hungry people appear!
It is nice to have had that available, though.Debby how old is Shelby? Well - they are a smart breed, but what a good girl ! Carolyn - love that idea of freezing whipped cream inside a large glass. My dh will love that! |

Hi gals..
Heading to Lawrence to see Beth before she leaves for SLCity next week..Will go to lunch, then race home to watch the KSU/WVU game at 6 with friends who have a giant screen tv. Buffy is our expert on taking things back if she doesn't like them when she gets home... |

Yes, they're smart! She's 13 wks. tomorrow. Taught her not to bark at the vaccuum. Today I did my elliptical before taking Shelby for her walk. (Dh was home & we were watching Flashpoint). Then we hiked down the field & back, another 45 minutes... It was sure cold! (We actually had snow a couple times today). Shelby was quite busy trying to eat all the cow-pies! Which could be questionable for smartness... but she did also discover the mice in the grass too. Hope you all have a good evening! |

Where is everyone hiding out today? I am back home, DD was getting really tired of staying at the hotel and decided to go on home today, they have help lined up for the kids so hope it was a wise decision. It worked out for the best for me, I had been feeling a UTI coming on and by the time I left the hotel today and got to an urgent care I was feeling really bad and the Dr. said I have a bad UTI. So, have some meds and on home I came. Hoping I will soon feel better.

Shelby's enjoying her first bone... wow it keeps her good & busy! She's been crazy-chewing on anything that is in her reach, especially me! ![]() Have a good evening! ![]() |

Carolyn, I received my almond bran in the mail while I was gone, if I feel up to it, going to make your muffins tomorrow. Have you found any other recipes for it yet?

Feel a little better today. But, the Dr. gave me Cipro and I had forgotten that it keeps me wired, not relaxed so had a rough night needing and wanting to sleep, but couldn't. Finally got to sleep about 6 and slept until 10.
Sounds like a busy, busy day Carolyn. |

Good Morning,
Buffy, sorry to hear that you came down with some crud. Keeping positive thoughts that you will be on top of your game real soon. Carolyn, I hate when there are no good food choices and you are trapped. Good choice to not get on the scale for a couple of days Woo Hoo! Debby you are really doing great. My dream is to be there with you someday. You have the right idea about getting down lower for the buffering so you can catch yourself. Have a nice ending to the weekend. ![]() |

Had a great lunch that may be appropriate for those of you doing this plan. I haven't figured out the stats but at first glance, I think it may be ok:
1 Joseph's Pita, slightly warmed (I get these from Netrition) 1 whole avocado, mashed 2 eggs, mine were over easy Warm the pita, just to make it pliable. Not really necessary. Mash an avocado and spread on pita. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with eggs. I ate this with a fork and let the yellow yolk run all over. What a tasty, high fat, high fiber, moderate protein lunch! I'm going to do this for breakfast in the morning!

One of my very fav meals is toast with mashed avocado with salt!! I haven't tried the eggs with it too.
I made reubens today with the lc onion/rye bread recipe. They're a home run hit!!! Yummy!!! We went to a bonfire BBQ party last night after a busy day trying to accomplish a few things around here. Our electric blanket died and DH said we had to get a new one IMMEDIATELY!!! He is so cold blooded! Thank goodness they have dual controls!! We went for a long walk this a.m. out at a local lake/park and came across 2 snakes on the trail!!! One was really big!!! Ewwwww. But it was a great walk. I'm fixing dinner for DH for the family for his birthday this coming Friday. I told him I'd make him a lc cheesecake for his dessert. I haven't made one forever! So I'm on the lookout for a great recipe that nobody will know is SF and LC. Anybody have any rave ones to share?

Cindy, that sounds really good. The pita would probably be good for tuna salad, etc. How many carbs per pita?
Sandy, isn't that rye bread the best? Guess those snakes were out looking for sun? I hate snakes, have always been that way. Carolyn might chime in with her fave cheesecake. I know there are lots of recipes out there. I made the Almond Bran muffins that Carolyn had posted the recipe for a while back. I had to wait for my almond bran to get here and the smallest order is a LOT, 2 big bags of it, so I was just praying I would like the muffins. I hope this becomes more popular and our LC cooks start using it and coming up with some great recipes. I just made half a batch as I wanted to include nuts in it and didn't want to waste nuts if I didn't care for them. I did like them, although the next time I made them I will add a little more spices to them, and more nuts. And, I used all swerve and they were just a little too sweet, and I got a little of the cooling effect, so next time, will use a combo of sweeteners, but all in all, a keeper. Had one warm with plenty of Kerrygold butter spread on it. Yum. |

Carolyn, my fault, not the Dr. I was scheduled for a followup visit but when I went back to LC and went a month without getting another UTI, I thought the problem was solved and cancelled the appt. Tomorrow I will call and schedule a followup. Drats!!

Thanks Cindy. I have been avoiding wheat, so the pita's are off limit right now. Though, I can't say as I have noticed much difference in going without wheat, so it must not be a problem for me.
I had another of the almond bran muffins at dinner, liked it again and didn't notice the cooling effect tonight. Maybe I imagined it earlier. Put 3 aside for DD in a plastic bag. I made half the recipe and I got 7 muffins. |

Thanks Carolyn! I found that one on here with the nut topping too. Have you ever tried that one? I think the nuts would be a good additional flavor and when I try a nut crust they always seem to get soggy?
