LOL Buffy! Yep, sometimes it just works that way.Thanks... I was not too happy about that before picture being taken! It was posted on facebook by a friend... but now I'm glad I have it. I tend to avoid cameras & delete pictures if they catch me in them (when I'm heavy)... ![]() |

Debby, these 2 pictures are just perfect for here.
Shelby'snana, one of my DD's had surgery and since she has 2 pre-schoolers at home, she went to a very nice hotel to recuperate, she had the surgery Monday and has had a nurse with her until sometime today, then I am going to stay with her until she is ready to go home. It is right here in Dallas so I am not going far but was kidding that I would have to stay in that dive of a hotel!! ![]() |

Wow Debby, what a difference! I like Shelby. Dogs just aren't named "dog" names anymore. I think it's b/c they've truly become family members. My grown children and grandchildren tease be about that all the time, reminding us that when they were kids our dogs were DOGS, not children, lol. True, but times change.
Buffy, enjoy your tortuous duty the next few days. Prays for a speedy, uncomplicated recovery for your DD. |

Thanks Sandy. Guess the pain has really set in now, she told me last night she feels like someone beat her with a baseball bat
. And, the pain pump comes off today and she will go to oral meds. Hopefully, today and tomorrow will be the worst days. |

Hoping speedy recovery for your daughter. You are going to be a real help just being there. We had lamb chops bbq'd last night. Wow that marinade was really good on them. Today I'll be having pulled pork that we had slow cooking yesterday. Think I'll make tortillas with almond flour and roll the meat up like an enchilada for dinner tonight.
Another hot day here. It was already in the 70's when I got up at 7am. Debby your such an inspiration with your new avi. You have accomplished your dream. I'm next ![]() Have as good a Wednesday as you can. It's protein roll making day for me. Check in later

I don't know Sharon, while looking at your avatar you already look much thinner on the right than on the left, to me at least. Very green and round on the left, very yellow and kind of hippy, but thinner on the right.

Good morning!
![]() After research, we decided to put Shelby in the crate for a little bit before going to bed, so we could "tell her" to be quiet. So it was up to Dave, cause he stays up later then me. He put her in & she started her usual barking/cry when put in the crate, so Dave just gave her a stern look & said be quiet... She didn't make another peep until 11:30 & then just a few... and then again at 5:55, which is only 5 minutes early for us to get up! So happy! ![]() Thanks for the compliments. I tried to wear my "goal" jeans yesterday, & I could, but they were just a "bit" snug... getting there. Lost another 1/4 lb. this morning... now only 1/4 to goal. Buffy - Funny! ![]()

Buffy please tell DD your online 'friends' are wishing her the speediest of recoveries.
Sandy me too on the Reuben! Isn't that bread just great?? Carolyn I opened up (finally) one of my volumes of Low Carbing Among Friends and there you are! You are heralded as a genius cook, and someone who "knows a good recipe when she sees one." I just knew I was stalking the right crowd! |

Walmart this morning, then to the barn, then home to eat an avocado. I bought 5 today and am going to try to eat one a day. I love them and so much good monounsat fat. Also scheduling my second colonoscopy. Had my first 7 years ago but the new recommendation is every 5 years. Fun times!!

Hi ladies!
We've been enjoying the pulled pork shoulder I made in my slow cooker. I had a dr. appt. this morning and she was very pleased at how I stabled myself. We talked about exercise and she wants me to get a tribike. I would love one of those if I can find one sturdy enough. I think my rat kids would like riding in the basket on bike trails. I also found out by the doc scale that mine is right on with there's. That was good to know. When I got home I started frying some eggplant slices to have as the bread sub for a pulled pork sandwich and now I'm getting ready to get back to the book on my Kindle that is in a series. It's in the 90's here so going to wait until this evening before our walk. Check back later. Have a good one. ![]() |

I had Bible study this a.m. and then I decided to go to Burlington Coat Factory to see if they had any summer gowns and robes on clearance. I bought a new comforter set, sheets and drapes for my bedroom!! No gown, no robe, lol. Then I went to Tuesday Morning and bought new Euro pillows (for above comforter set) and new drapery panels for my family room. My DH is going to croak!! This was all very spur of the moment. Good news is I didn't eat much lunch. I've been too busy, lol.

Hi ladies..
akk..worked all day selling tickets..One more week. We went out for dinner..I had meatloaf and veggies..Didn't eat all of it. Judy..LOL..Thanks for the cooking kudos..I didn't enter anything into the 3rd version, which is coming out later on...I do think those cookbooks are very practical and easy to follow.. Cindy...I think Dh is due for his colonoscopy..He does need to see a doctor for a real checkup. Our lady PA just does hormones.. Sandy...Good for you...I'm sure your dh will be happy with the new bedding and curtains.. ![]()

Very busy being a nurse
![]() Sounds like fun Sandy, you have to buy those things when you catch some you really like or good prices. Love avocados DD doing really well, nurse said the fact that she is in such good shape and works out sure helps post surgery. Bought the new bestseller by JK Rowling, not even sure what it is about but wanted something good to read here, hope I like it |

Sandy that's how I do things. It seems they've been percolating outside of my awareness until something jumps in front of me then it's all at once! I've never regretted that, actually. I hope you like what you bought because it sounds like fun!
Carolyn you've been working a lot! Sharon that pork shoulder sounds delicious. Cindy I am sure one day I will have a colonoscopy.....one day.... My cute smart 84-yr-old mother had another colonoscopy last year. The guy said, "Everything looks great! See you in 10 years!" She said, "No you won't!" ![]() Buffy I sure do hope your dd is better and better. Now you get some rest from all the "nursing" you're doing!

Unlike her mother, DD is a morning person. So, as soon as she is awake, she is ready to get up, get showered, move around, etc. so I just now have her showered, fed, room cleaned, back in bed, fed, some pain meds and she is napping. Yesterday I took a nap with her in the afternoon and may do that again today. I am loving being here and helping her but it is physical and a little tiring.
Fell out of ketosis after the first night I was here, not sure what was in some of the stuff I was eating, boy, could I feel it too, wanted to eat everything in the room. Ran to grocery yesterday and got me some stuff to make sure I always have something LC to eat. BBL

WHAT? This is making me tired and hungry!
![]() Honestly I am sorry it's so tiring - it definitely is. And my experience with myself and helping others in that way is 'whatever's easy'. Which is not so good.... Congrats for going out to get yourself some low carb food. Yummy reminder: diet root beer + hwc. |
