Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Had a really nice day.
Carolyn, yes, I got the book off of Amazon. Really kind of pricey, but I really wanted to read it. Not sure if your library would have it or could get it? |

Well, pretty disappointed in my weigh in this AM. I ate late, I didn't eat one thing off plan but didn't track yesteray so not sure where I was on protein, prob too high. I ate crab legs and boiled shrimp and then came home late and had pumpkin bake with plenty of whippied cream and a fat bomb. No high carb treats though. Rings are tight this morning so hope this is a temp gain. My ketone reading was good and high though and my thigh is down 1/2 inch. So, all in all, all is good

I'm sure it's just water weight Buffy. I had a big jump up this weekend too and I wasn't "that" bad, lol. But I know it's from too much sodium so I'm trying not to sweat it too much. Hang in there. Just keep remembering those compliments you got the other day!

Sandy's right, Buffy. If your rings are tight it's water.
I have seen the scale bounce around like crazy on this WOE and just have to remember that overall - it's going down. Even though I haven't lost anything in a month.... I've still eaten very well and not been hungry and even if I don't lose another pound I'll keep eating this way. |

I know, I was prepared to not lose this past week but have to admit, that gain surprised me. Thank heaven's my rings were tight and I know crab legs carry a lot of sodium. But, the good thing is I should see losses this week
, and agreed, not even thinking of quitting. I am loving what I eat these days. |

Happy Birthday Buffy!!!
We got back late from the wedding last night. I quickly drank several glasses of water since I could tell I was really dehydrated then went straight to bed. I couldn't take off work since I run payroll at my office and no one else knows how. So I'm a bit tired today but it was a really great weekend and I had tons of fun at the wedding. I did pretty good on the LC plan, definitely no wheat but I had a good amount of wine and a few bites of potato during the cocktail hour because I was super hungry and that was the only wheat free option. I think I'll be bouncing on the scale for a few days until my water/salt levels even out. We went to this really great place for dinner the one night where I got a hot dog stuffed with cheddar, wrapped in bacon and served on a lettuce wrap with warmed cream cheese on top. It was amazing!!!! And even though I don't want to cook or shop tonight I'm stopping at the grocery store to pick up hot dogs and bacon so I can make this tonight. It was one of the tastiest things I have eaten in a long time.

Hi y'all!
Yes Buffy, salt wrecks havoc with me, that's why I avoid it. I guess if you love seafood, you have to decide not to look at the scale for a few days. Most likely you're still losing wt., its just hiding under water .Puppy days are going well. She's so much fun. The grand-kids absolutely adore her. ![]() Have a great day! ![]() |

Debby, we all want a picture of your new baby of course!!!
Thanks gals for the advice on the water weight, I know that is what it is. And, I had upped my calories just a tad this past week, I was feeling really restricted trying to keep them under 1400, somedays it worked well enough but I was really having to work it other days. I feel so good, and am losing inches slowly, so what the hey if I eat to comfort and lose very slowly. I am not out to be a skinny minny these days anyhow. |

Jess, I think you did great going to a wedding, glad you had a great time and sorry you had to go in to work today. Work is such a nuisance in our lives, right?

Magnesium, hmmmm? Ok, I started out on 50mg, didn't realize it was that low when I bought the bottle. Took for about a week until I got a bottle of 500mg and switched to that. Lately my stomach has hurt most of the time, not upset or running to the bathroom type of distress, just a hurting in my stomach, like I would think an ulcer might feel. Ginger tabs help but only temporarily. Yesterday I mulled over what it could be and the only new thing was the taking of the 500mg mag. So, didn't take it last night and so far today it is better, still feels kind of raw inside but no hurting like it has been. Will give it another day or two to determine if that is what it was. Then, if so, will go back and start again at 50mg and work up very very slowly. I hope that is what it is, otherwise I am really stumped and can't think what else it might be. I just know that last week I did not feel good all week long.

Hi ladies..
Yes, Buffy....salt is our enemy..I have read that you can be 4 pounds up because of sodium...Many of us have experienced that. I take my mag at dinner with food..so maybe that helps. Jess..those hotdogs sound good.. Was still at 152 this morning..That is good for a Monday morning for me. Going to the gym this afternoon to babysit it while the owner is out for a while..So, maybe I'll do 3 hours of exercise? At least I'll get my Slowburn in. |

Mine is the citrate form, supposed to be easily digested. I am just going to put this aside for now and start back on the low 50mg dose and very gradually work up. Pretty sure that is what is was, no tummy aches today. Thank heavens.

Buffy, anytime I take a vitamin that is in the pressed tablet form I get pain in my stomach. It doesn't matter what vitamin it is or the dose my body just can't process the hard tablets. As long as I take everything as a softgel or caplet I'm fine. I'm not sure if this could be an issue for you too.

Thanks Jess, I haven't had that issue with other things but an idea. I really think it was just too high a dosage for me too soon.

Gals, I found a new product the other day that I am just loving. The brand is Karoun and it is Mediterranean Style Kefir Cheese Labne - spreadable yougurt cheese, all natural. The nutrition facts are:
Serving size 2 T or 30 gr cal 60 Total fat 6 Carb 1 Sugars 1 Pro 1 It is the consistency of greek yogurt but not as much bite as either that or sour cream, a very mild taste. I love it just out of the carton or you can flavor it, sweeten it, etc. Today I fixed a 6 serving package of diet orange jello, let it just begin to gel, then added 150 grams of this, to which I had added about 4 drops of sweetfreez. Whisked it all up and it is in the fridge to set. Really hits the spot if you are wanting something fruity and creamy for dessert. There is a lite version, I of course, bought the full fat one. Loving it. |

Hi..
That Kefir sounds wonderful...My friend makes her own and loves it. I'm at the gym babysitting for the place. I did my SlowBurn and increased my weights from 8 pounds to 10 pounds. I needed to do that.. Steak for dinner..It is soooo warm that I can cook out.. |

Chicken liver and onions for me, plus my jello/kefir, then have room for something else, just haven't decided yet.
