Wow, would the cocoa add that many calories? Yikes

It is really good though, I didn't get my CC mixed in very well, was in a hurry so have little bits of that in it, but sure tastes good. I am going to spread it out over the rest of the day. Already had a couple of spoon fulls.

When I started taking coconut oil my hair stopped falling out. But my skin is VERY dry (new). I recently have trouble sleeping (new). My heart feels like it's beating out of my chest (not that new - kind of 2 years old). We'll see. Test is tomorrow at 9AM.
Thanks Judy,
Your rapid heart beat & trouble sleeping sound like a thyroid symptom. But could be adrenal also, I think? It sounds like you should get it looked after. Could even be hyperthyroid? I started getting hyper symptoms when I was prescribed synthroid... it was a very high dose. If your adrenals are out, it stops your t-something? from being absorbed & makes high TSH readings, as well as giving you worse thyroid symptoms.

I have read so much of these thyroid/adrenal issues.
It's a good thing it's not brain tumor issues or I would certainly have a brain tumor.

Depending upon what the tests show (I think I'll have the results in a couple of days) I thought it might be worth it to me to test the adrenals.
Thank you.

Hi all,
I'll be out of town for our Oct 1 weigh in, so I'm reporting early.

142 this a.m.
Down .2 for the month, so still maintaining pretty well.

My OOT escapade will surely blow that out of the water but I'll be back to the straight and narrow for the rest of Oct to try to undo any damage.

Morning!

I will be OOT on Monday too, so will probably post Tuesdays weight although I always show a gain when I travel, either flying or driving. But, the good thing is that if I am a good girl and stay on the straight and narrow, it should all be gone the next Monday and maybe take a friend or two with it.

All ready for my trip, I can't wait to see my sisters, we will have so much fun.

Judy, loved the cheesecake but think I preferred it uncooked. Think I will mix some up and put in fridge, to take tiny bites of as I want. The raw egg thing I have kind of got over since I have had it in shakes and egg creams. The texture is much smoother uncooked.

I might cook it 30 seconds or so and let it be after that.
Thanks!

I defied the directions and mixed it all up very smoothly before microwaving.

Mine was very cheesecakey as it was, but I like the idea of creamy!

Morning ladies,

Sounds like a great idea undercooking for a creamier texture. I think I'd like that to be more like a pudding too. I did something this morning for Dh and I that was different but still really good. I fried the usual bacon and eggs but then had hash browns made with onions and sprinkled 1/4 c. ea. of parm. and almond flour over and browned the whole thing. It was a real treat. Dh liked it as a potato replacement too. I used coconut oil for the onions and just fried the eggs in the bacon grease. I think we'll both be good now until dinner. LOL.

Sandy and Buffy have a fun trip.

Time to get moving here. BBL

Hi ladies..

Those onion hashbrowns sound great, Sharon..

Buffy and Sandy..have fun traveling this weekend..

NEW NAME for October thread? Ladies? Ladies???

Went to a Healthy Aging Fair today..The doctor who has the LCarb
Weight Loss Center was there and she was weighing and measuring
fat percentage for free..So, I did it..Fat percentage was 34 percent and
weight with clothes at noon was 156. We chatted a bit and she has
a weight maintenance program that I could go to and check with her
from time to time. I might do that in hopes of losing a bit of weight and
see why things are going down.

I'm playing catch-up again

I tried the calculator from the sugar 101 site but I'm not sure about the numbers it gave me. I put in all my info and to lose 1 pound a week it says I should be eating about 1500 calories a day. But I've been eating 1700-1900 a day for the last few months and lose 6-8 pounds a month. So I'm sticking with what's been working for me.

Jess - good point. That website was a little depressing for me... but I'm not changing the way I'm eating because I'm not hungry and I like the food I have been eating.

October Overachievers? I might have to go to the dictionary...

I have been staying around 1200-1400 too. If I were hungry I'd say something, but that is probably a good number for me as I'm not exercising.
Tomorrow I'm going back to the pool to start moving myself. It's time.
After awhile I'll crack into my Slow Burn DVDs.

I like October Overachievers too and I love how my spellchecker thinks overachievers is ment to be spelled as screwdrivers.

I don't like when the first of the month falls on a Monday as that's always my heaviest day of the week. But I've been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for 2 and 1/2 weeks now. I've been on a huge bacon kick that I need to stop, I think it's too much protein.

Hi gals,
I've been dealing with a few new symptoms, trying to figure out which med needs adjusting...thyroid or adrenals... So, according to stop the thyroid madness (my new reference book), I needed to take a temperature test. Which I've been doing (takes 3 days); with one more day to go. As it is averaging exactly the same, and low, I'll be upping my thyroid med.
Do any of you take Armour? I'm just wondering how long it takes to make a difference, since it wasn't that long ago that I raised the dose I was taking...
I found something interesting yesterday...scoobys workshop calorie calculator, for calculating calories for maintenance, or losing. Its pretty cool. I've figured mine out & have decided to go for it, with the 5% calorie reduction... leaves me at 1817 calories. You can enter your own %'s also, and it gives you amounts for each meal... kind of a helpful tool.
Seems no matter what I do, I stay the same... so I'm going to try the increase in cals, as my read-out gave me. We'll see.
I should find out from you gals what the % of fat/protein/carb is that you use too???

I got my flu shot 2 weeks ago. I'm one of those people that I either get the flu or the flu shot, it's my choice but I will have one or the other every year. I've learned to make sure I get the shot.

I'm too young to get the shingles vaccination. I had the chicken pox as a kid so the virus is already in my system. But I'm all for vaccinations so I'm sure I'll want it when I'm in my 50-60's. My BF's mom got shingles and was in the hospital for almost a week, it was really bad. She's fine now but it took a long time for her to heal fully. Go for the shot!

I want to answer more fully later, but I am 54 and I want the shingles shot. My dh had shingles and was incorrectly diagnosed by family (!!!!) that he had poison ivy.
He kept saying how much it hurt.
We finally got him to a dermatologist who correctly diagnosed him and gave him blessed pain medication.

He only has vision in one eye, so he has now had his shingles shot. If you get it in your eye you can certainly go blind or become impaired.

I want it the shot!

I'll get my flu shot closer to the end of Oct. We don't have much chance of the flu here until next year and I want it to last, but be completely active well before Christmas. We never miss that shot.

Off to dd 32 for dinner at her house! We are only taking a chopped salad, so we are really being treated!

My doctor took care of me this last time with an automatic flu and shingles shot. I get the flu shot each year but this time she added the other on. She takes good care of me.... I definitely recommend the shots.
