I really do seem to have good metabolism for my age, BUT! if I veer off plan too much or for too long I gain it right back. I can usually get it right back off if I try REALLY hard. There in lies the rub! Lol. I feel like I've done pretty well for the last few years. I did bounce up quite a bit last year but worked hard and got it back down and have kept it in my 5# window 99.9% of the time. So I guess I'll take the pats on the backs from you all. Thank you so much!
I've met Carolyn and Cindy and they're both beautiful people. I feel like I've met MK but that hasn't happened as of yet, though we have been in the same town for several holidays, lol. Maybe someday. I'd love to meet all of you and so many others on this forum. Buffy, I bet the ketosis diet will be fine for diabetes. A lot of diabetics use that blood ketone monitor. Of course, I have no idea what they're checking, lol. But I also think you're right about over cheating on it. That might backfire. As cheating usually does, spoken by an experienced cheater, lol. The makeup all sounds fun!! I think I need something new. I looked in the mirror last night and thought "wow, I'm getting old!" Not a good thought, but very true. I just don't want to look like it, right?

So nice to see your lovely faces Mary & Judy!I'm doing great today. Back-ache went away today, and 2.5 lbs of the 3.5 lb water wt. was gone this morning. ![]() Bought a pair skinny jeans today. They're low-rise, and going to take some getting used to. ![]() |

OH so glad your back is better! And you are buying skinny jeans!
I am an advocate of the low-rise as I have the shortest torso available. So low-rise jeans come almost up to my natural waist! HA! ![]() |

Morning
Last visit my endocrinologist prescribed potassium for me, I had been having leg and foot and hand cramps but hadn't even mentioned it to him, but my blood tests came back showing I was low. Voila, it solved all those problems. Another hot summer day here in Texas although school has started which makes it seem like it should be more fall weather. But, it is still August. Going to pick up Grant after school and take him for his allergy shot, will be a chance for him to tell me all about his recent 2 week trip to Canada to visit his step dad's family, he loves it there and I can't blame him, it is so beautiful up there.

Hi ladies..
On the potassium..I take 2 (99mg) in the a.m. I think the limit is 4 (99s). That helps immensely.. I think it is important to find jeans that fit..LOL..There are some gap ones that I like..they are slightly lowrise, so I have to wear lowrise undees with them..LOL. It is getting hot here, too, Buffy...I wonder if we will see some rain from Issac? It looked like it might hit the edge of KS.. Debby: Wow..on the water weight..I think I am holding on to some weight from salty foods..Not good.. Exercised..dropped ds's laundry off and I did scrub the tub..(I had to do it)..I don't clean around there..but I felt the urge..LOL.. Dh is leaving for OH tonight..

Potassium Chloride extended release - and now I'm guessing - 10mg?
Eeek - I bought the only thing they had, and it was evening and nearly bedtime, potassium gluconate 550 mgs. I wonder if that's an inferior type of potassium. On the back it says "Amount per tablet: Potassium (from 550 mg. potassium gluconate) 90 mg." And the % daily value is only 3%. I'm taking it twice/day, but would be happy to find something better if you all have more info. Thanks. |

I have your answer Carolyn, but not one you will want to hear. I haven't smoked for over 28 years but I have a couple of those I hate, hate, hate. Lip lines, the ones that go up from your lip.
There are numerous creams, potions that are supposed to target those lines and I have ran out and got several after reading about them. So far, NONE of them work. The only thing I have found that did work and I loved the results, was getting filler injected into that area. I had it one time, nasolabial lines and my upper lip and those lines we hate and they were conservative so it turned out very nice, not fake looking nor did I get duck lips. But, it is sooooo expensive. And, it only lasts about a year or 1 1/2 years if you do the followup treatment and it is just too costly for me to continue. If they come out with a filler that lasts longer, then I might consider it again. So, sorry, I have looked into that but haven't found a reasonable solution. Funny, I was just reading about a Kiel's product last night for those lines, tempted to buy but reminded myself of the other products I had purchased with the same promises. |

The last few days I've been cutting my protein down a little bit and adding extra fat to every meal. My reward--losses 3 days in a row!! And no hunger.

Dear Sandy: Congratulations. (In my head I am hearing your friends telling me you have the metabolism of a 19-yr-old boy...
Buffy one of my good friends did that Juvaderm and loved it. She's done it again and thinks it will last a little longer. It took away her marionette lines and I agree - it did not look fake at all - it looked like she had turned back the clock, actually. I, however, have decided to keep my marionette lines until that stuff lasts a LOT longer. |

![]() LOOOOOOOONNNNGGGG day! I drove 45 minutes, then spent 2 hours waiting for the doctor, finally got in and (amazed face) she's putting back on the same cholesterol regimen i was on years ago - Pravachol and Zetia. Sigh. Did manage to find a great skirt and top at White House Black Market and some amazing cords at Talbots!! AND the Curvy ones fit perfectly!! AND they come in all sorts of colors! I wanted green, but ended up with wine, khaki and chocolate brown. I may be more adventurous later! ![]() I ran through the health food store and found Rudi's GF bread ` I like Udi's but this looked like it was cut thicker, so thought I'd try it. They have a separate refrigerator section of GF stuff. I need a walk! Hopefully DH will be home soon - he went back to St Louis today - because dinner will be ready in about 10 minutes! OH! just got great news! DS20 was accepted into the Belize Trip for J- Term!!! Sandy - ![]() ![]() WTG!!! Buffy - you are the skin-care queen!! it's not to late to change careers!?!

OH MK - great news for your DS! How exciting!
I love corduroys. Maybe I'll take myself looking for those in a month or two closer to goal. I'm going to make my own bread from Ginny's Low Carb or whatever website. She's been experimenting with nutritional yeast flakes. I'll let you know if it's good. Nice to hear from Cindy in-between adventures! |
