Judy, I weigh every single day, except when I'm gone from home. And I keep it in a software program that shows trends, weight 30 days, 90 days and a year ago to see where you've been or where you're going. It's called weight commander. I also keep a little chart in my bedroom so I can write it as soon as a weigh in case I forget by the time I get to the computer, lol. And really, I'm NOT obsessive about it. I just found that if I weigh daily I can make daily adjustments if I need to and if I'm in the mood. If not, it's still there staring me in the face so I can't "pretend" it's not happening.

Sandy - exactly.
If I weigh daily, it won't be 'unknown' to me. It will be a fact at the beginning of the day. And I don't think it's obsessive either. I think it's informative. If I tune into the news of the day and haven't weighed myself, I've left out an important part of information I need to go through my day and to make choices during my day. Thanks Sandy! |

Judy & SandyMe too. I weigh every day when home. Its another scary part of traveling. I don't think I obsess either, and with the health issues I've had, Medically it was essential that the scale told me about that 4 lb water gain overnight. But... when the scale is not budging, it does feel like an exercise in futility. Just have to keep from letting it discourage you. |

I also weigh most days - and try not to panic if it goes up occasionally ~ though I totally believe it if it goes down!

Morning!
Great news yesterday evening, DS called to tell me that they are starting him in training today although it isn't "official" yet. I assume it has to have been posted for so many days or something like that. So, we are 99% sure. This is in sales and since he is such a people person and so passionate about his industry, I do think it is a perfect fit. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes for him ![]() Judy, you are so right about the teachers, some care and some really don't, just doing it for the paycheck, but since DD is so devoted, she really works with and on some of those types, either bringing them up to speed or pushing them out of her building, unfortuately, they probably go to another school where the administration doesn't care so much and other kids pay the price. DD works many many long hours and since she has K thru 5th grade, she does get to know her students. I agree with you all on weighing every day and keeping a close eye on your weight. It has just been the last couple of years and after finding out I am diabetic that I quit doing that, my focus shifted more to my blood sugar readings and not so much on my weight. I "should" re focus more on my weight and lose some more but I can't seem to find the motivation I need these days. Any weight loss would benefit me and my high blood pressure and diabetes but I have become lazy in that area, I have to admit it. I saw you sneak in and say hello Cindy , have fun at the reunion. MK, when does DS leave again? Carolyn, glad you are liking the slow burn exercise routine, you are so dedicated. everyone!

Buffy: Yeah for your ds's promotion...Hurray for him... ![]() Dh is re-staining the deck this weekend..Ds will help him and I have to go get the stain... Carolyn - it's still summer! And the temperatures have been so nice for a couple of weeks - we have loved them. We need to stain our deck too, but are hoping for that 50% chance of rain Saturday.
Lucky friend who gets your LC chocolate cake! Yes Buffy - congrats to DS! Cindy I did not know you had cats or I would have posted a couple of funny cat pictures... might still if I can figure it out. |

I'm anxious to see how that works Carolyn. I wish those meter strips weren't so expensive!
I need to have hair dye on but just can't get motivated to go through that procedure right now. I have a lunch date with an old friend today. I'm really looking forward to it! MK, what will you do with all your spare alone time? I value my alone time now too and never thought I would. I also value quiet. Noise really irritates me. But I do have to have a noise machine to sleep with, lol. Isn't that crazy! |

Morning!
Cute Cat joke Judy, most of us on the board have cats who are very special. Carolyn, yikes, you and Alex do not have the same colored fur ![]() Yes, MK, you will be ready for a break and some alone time. Enjoy, I love my alone time. Busy day today, shopping, running errands, facial at 1:00, more shopping errands, then finish up with a stop at DD's for the last check on the grandkitty's, they will be home tomorrow evening. Have to stop by the middle school and see if they will give me DGS's schedule for the 8th grade. They get back from vacation on Sat. eve and school starts Monday. He wants a little time to look over schedule and be prepared. Beautiful day here, 75 with the high supposed to only be 81 . Loving these cooler temps. |

Carolyn, let us know if you think being in real ketosis helps. I am not sure if, as a diabetic, I should ever try to get into ketosis?
Never heard of borax for vertigo? How does that work? Is it drops? Ear drops? Tell us more.... |

I'd like to hear about the Borax also - didn't know whether it was ear drops. Do tell!
I finally got my strips (from Canada) and I tested 0.8 - that's in ketosis, right? I'll let you know if I now lost weight completely effortlessly Takes more blood than I thought. |

OK - from the nutritional ketosis thread this morning:
" If you register above .5 in the morning and don't go off-plan you should be in ketosis throughout the day." |

Buffy I'm not sure whether it's good for a diabetic to be in ketosis. I would not advocate that unless I'd studied it at some length.
Debby! Fantastic!!! I haven't seen the 120s since my 20s! Not sure I want to see them again to maintain HA HA! I am thoroughly confused about what is OK to post and not. I tried to find out where to get the ketosis strips in Canada and the post was removed and I was warned. But there is another thread using Konjac powder to make noodles that advocates going to their site to order the powder... I don't know. I did go to Jimmy Moore's site (OK to post that?) to find out where to get the strips. They are expensive, though. I love ordering from Netrition and will order lots of things from them again. I am just not experienced enough to know what is OK and not considering the examples above.

I didn't find Jimmy Moore's post until AFTER I'd ordered mine. I ordered a lot to make the postage 'free', so I ordered 40 strips. They were a little over $2 per strip. After I found Jimmy Moore's post linking to where he bought his, I know I'll order from them next time. That site was right at about $2/strip.
So I won't be using it every day, just to check every so often. The people on the nutritional ketosis thread honestly are just dropping weight - the ones who are keeping tight track of their foods anyway. I think I move so little I need fewer calories. I haven't ordered the Slow Burn DVD yet. And it will be a couple or 3 more weeks before I can get out from under all this work to turn my attention to something like that. Just EFGT took a lot of my attention (I'm limited!). |
