Hi gang..
Oh, Sandy...what a sad thing for your brother to have to go through again..Praying for her family and children and your brother..So shocking.. Rachel arrived, so we have been chatting and watching the DVR of the Bachelorette.. The UPS man pulled up and Beth and Shawn sent us bratwurst and bacon..Luckily it was still cold and partially frozen..So, this will last us a while..I guess it was a combo Mother/Father day gift. Still at 153.. |

Thanks everybody for the prayers.
Carolyn, so which one do you want??? I'd take the bacon any day! And I even love brats, but not like good ol' bacon. Nice and crispy please! |

Morning!
Oh Sandy, that is so sad for your brother, sorry to hear that. I am sad that my DD is leaving today to drive back to Nebraska but so thankful to have had her here for 3 days of wonderful visiting. She is a jewel, love her so darn much. She meant to be up and on the road by now but is still sleeping and was so tired that I am going to let her sleep until at least 8:30 or so, that will still get her home by dark and she needed the rest, was pretty stressed out when she got here and we had some really good mother/daughter time to help her with that. Teenage son worries, been there, done that with her brother so we talked it over and I am hoping I helped, think I did. He is a great kid and will be ok, but some rough times right now, wants to do it "his" way which worries them so much. DGS Grant, 12, got his very own kitten yesterday, now Milo has come to leave with their family and he was so proud to show him off to us last night. He loves animals and will take good care of him. We are a cat family for sure, lots of cats in our family. Bacon sounds good, need to do a big batch on the grill, ala Sandy's method, which works great. Bacon and tomato, yummo.

Thank you Cindy for the link. i've never been to that site.
Sandy: so sorry to hear about your sister in law. I'm slowly losing what i gained on my road trip but the scale is messing with my mind. It told me I was 178.8 the first time but I thought that was a big jump from yesterday so I got on again and I was 181.4. Then it was higher! Tried it a few times thinking I should use an average. Maybe the battery is going? It's been pretty reliable so far so I don't know why it's jumping around so much. But I decided to get off of it and just use the 181.4 since that seemed the most reasonable. Hope y'all have a great day. |

Oh and Buffy I know how you feel. I am having so many problems with one of my sons. It's actually been a few years of constant stress with him. I can only hope he straightens up soon. Good luck to your daughter.

Hi, All, I am trying to find a low carb diet and I am going to try this one. I need to lose around 40 lbs. I am from O.K.married, 3 children and 4 about grown grandchidren. They think they are all grown up. Actually late teens. 1 Bichon dog. My husband has emphysema and bedfast in Nursing Home so being by myself at home it is hard for me to cook Just for me. Hope everyone has a great day and good wishes.

Well Annie I am in Tulsa.
I hope you have the good success so many others have had. I am sorry your husband is bedfast. Maybe just cooking for yourself is what you need to do right now. Take some time to read the other posts on this forum. There is a wealth of information here if you take the time to look. And then if you ask questions, there are lots of friendly and helpful people. Hope you have a good day today. Judy |

Netrition is the one that sponsors this site. If you look at the top of the page on the right, there is a direct link to Netrition.com. I like the $4.95 flat rate shipping and their selection is huge!!

I think I'd also like to try the Chickenlady's fluffy biscuits to see if such a thing is really possible. I have a couple of homemade salads dressings I love (a tried and true balsamic vinaigrette and a delicious Caesar) that lend themselves well to this way of eating. My percentage of protein is a little high today (30%) and carbs low (5.2%). But I don't wish for anything else to eat today to change the percentages. I guess there are good days and bad days. I am down 6.5 pounds in 2 weeks. I'll get better ratios tomorrow! (channeling my inner Scarlett O'Hara...) Last edited by JMCM1; 06-17-2012 at 07:56 PM.. |

Hi ladies..
152...and it's Monday..I wonder if I am getting muscles? Did my Slow Burn today at my gym with my friend/owner..She was wiggly afterwards, too. Judy: Glad you liked the muffins.. I shared this with Cindy/Sandy (thyroid peeps)..My dd30 had half her thyroid removed 5 years ago..No cancer, but she had nodules. Well, she has been getting meds from my PA (2.5 hours away) and checking in..Her last test for T3 was 10..Soooo high..Normal is below 4. The PA said get to an endo in KCity..Beth wasn't sure why because she felt fine..So, she has a call in to KU Med/Endo and hopefully they will call her back. I think the other half of her thyroid is going wonky or has a nodule....Keep you posted..

Busy week here too, even though I didn't think it was going to be.
Carolyn, wishing Beth the best on getting her thyroid in check. Went to my Dr. yesterday and left a urine sample for this recurring UTI that I have been fighting, he was going to do 2 tests, not sure what, but waiting to hear from them. Told the nurse I was more than ready to see a urologist and get to the bottom, haha, of this. JMCM, good loss! DGS coming over later today and going to spend the night. It is time for his allergy shot so we will probably go out to lunch and then run by and get that. Will look for a movie if there are any out he would like to see. Otherwise, just laundry and office work, the usual. |

I don't have thyroid issues, but I admit I've never had it checked. My mother and sister are both on thyroid medication, so I'm always interested.
Buffy how much fun to have a grandson stop and spend the night. Somebody posted a question on a different thread and it made me go back over not just the percentages of fat/carbs/protein, but to look at the grams for each calorie level. I can see I need to get my protein lower. I like salads, so that will work for me, particularly with full-fat dressings. Still happy with my weight loss over a short period. Sandy I thought of you this morning when I was at swimming! |

Buffy: Recurring UTI's are NO fun at all..Hope you get a good doctor to settle it for once and for all. Brett's 25th birthday..I got him some KSU sports shorts/money and the cat will give him some almonds and bacon jerky..LOL..Steak out tonight.. Laundry is a recurring theme here too..I have to wash Gary's Canadian clothes..LOL..Stuff in Canada is expensive..So, he got some new Father's Day clothes. Hey...DH said he lost 20 pounds since January..Honestly, I didn't notice..opps..but I am happy for him. We are eating the same at home, so I do think it was those lunches and traveling meals that got to him. |

I want to read the sequels MK. I think there are 2. I'm reading Walk in the Woods right now. Just started it. Just finished Sing Me Home by Jodi Picoult. I'm still trying to figure out if I liked that one, lol.
Today is our 44th wedding anniversary! I always tell people we wouldn't even be married to each other if I hadn't switched bus stops in high school, lol. |
