Hi ladies..
Oh, Sandy...praying for your granddaughter..Did I miss the type of surgery she is having??? Sandy..You are amazing...15 pounds is amazing... Good luck with your new cleaning lady, Buffy..Sounds like you did the right thing by letting the old one go. There are cleaning ladies that clean and then the rest of them.. Off to do errands and go to the gym.. |

You can check out facebook too see more details about the surgery that I reposted from my DDIL. She is having some pretty severe problems from adhesions from her 3 surgeries as an infant and toddler. They can't do the surgery until June 22 as one Dr. is going on vacation and the other one couldn't get her on her schedule before the first one leaves except on her day off and she wasn't willing to do it that day. I just pray that it doesn't become an emergency situation before June 22. Then she'll have to go through the ER and who knows who will be doing the surgeries. She actually has to have 2, almost back to back. Poor thing. I can't even imagine!

I have a couple of questions, I hope this is the right place to ask, if not please tell me the right place.
Without getting into detail, can upping your fat level like this cause bathroom problems? I just started this plan yesterday. How do you up your fat without upping your protein? |

Morning!
Another cloudy day after 2 days or rain, rain, rain. Rain was good and welcomed but, getting my carpets cleaned yesterday and they are still damp. This is chemDry and they advertise dry iin 4-6 hours. Wellllll, after he starts he tells me that b/c of the high humidity and he is doing a super duper job on really dirty spots, it might take up to 20-24 hours to dry" I tell him I have a new cleaning lady coming today and he says "better not have her vacuum as these might still be a little damp". Oh what I would give for one more day before she comes and I will have to vacuum the whole house after she comes to clean. Guess it could be worse, but I was planning on putting all things back where they belonged before she came. Had the AC on 69 and all the fans blowing since he was here yesterday afternoon and yes, they are still slightly damp. Having tamales tonight, a friend ordered 96 for a party she was having and due to language barrier, she got 96 dozen!!! She is selling them to all her friends, LOL.

Hi ladies.
Crazy day..My friend's birthday lunch..We had fun.. Buffy: Yup, it seems like carpets take forever to dry..The best carpet cleaners I have ever gotten was ChemDry..They were in Des Moines and they did the best job ever and it was dry in an hour...And....96 dozen tamales... Lisa: If you are eating real meats with real dairy/cheese, etc. and oils, it is easy to get your fats to 60 percent..Cream in your coffee, butter on your veggies and salad dressing on your salads. If you eat the skin on the chicken and beef or pork, there is a lot of fat in that, too. ****** does give you great information.. Sandy: Will be praying for your dgd that she will make it surgery before the 22nd and wisdom for the doctors and surgeons..

Ladies..
I'm sitting here at home and DS24 calls me from work..Mom, is the Clinic open on Saturdays? I say, "Are you sick?" He says my chest has hurt for a couple of days with no colds, etc..or fever..AKKKK.. I say, go get your father from the next office over and have him take you to the ER (5 minutes from the office)..So, he ambles over and they are on their way. I was thinking...Energy Drinks..hmmm..He has been drinking them probably regularly..So, I called him back to tell him about that and he said, Yes, I was thinking that, too..So.. I said call me back as soon as you know something.. Good grief...Prayers will be appreciated. |

Update: Dh called..Ds's blood pressure is fine..doing chest x-rays..doctor will come and look at him. Then he remembered he lifted something heavy at the gym on Monday..So,
that and the energy drink combo could do it..I think they will do an EKG, which isn't a bad thing either. Ds asked the nurse, "What do you think it is?" She said she couldn't say..Ds asked, "What do you think it isn't?" She said that if you had a heart attack at your age, you would be dead already...So....I'm sure he is fine, but glad they are doing the tests. |

Well..he checked out with the doctor just fine. Dr. said eliminate all energy drinks and see how you feel in a day or two..Frankly, I'm glad..Those things aren't good for peeps.
Thanks for your prayers.. Buffy: Your carpets should be dry by Wed for sure..Hurray. |

Oh wow Carolyn! How scary!! I'm glad he checked out ok and I agree on nixing the energy drinks. I don't think they're good for peeps either, especially on a regular basis.
I like Oxyclean carpet cleaners. And I need them right now. I really need new carpet but cleaning is sooooo much cheaper, lol. |

Hi gang..
Dh is taking me for breakfast where you can have unlimited bacon..LOL.. Sandy, I am so glad that the doctor told him to nix them..He said he would come home from work and have one on an empty stomach..Not good. But he felt fine last night. We will see him tonight for dinner and a church meeting..Ice cream and cookies to ask questions to our candidate. I'm making SF chocolate chip bars..They are gooood...with a walnut meal crust. I started the Slow Burn technique the other day. I got the Fred Hahn's DVD from him and they are excellent. The workout takes 30 minutes..At first he wants you to do it 2 times a week, then only once a week.. At home all you need is free weights. I got 8 pound weights and they seem to do okay so far. You could also use ankle weights on certain exercises, too.. Oxyclean cleaners sound great..I do need someone..Renting a Rug Doctor doesn't sound like fun, and I think it gets the carpet very wet.. Have a great day. |

Morning!
Carolyn, how scary was that???? Wow, so glad Brett checked out ok but so good that he went and got it checked out. I think they should outlaw those energy drinks, young and old drink them with no caution, I had one of them and then my BS plummeted, took a lot to get it back up, scared DS and DDIL to death. Carpet finally dry. I promise myself I won't wait so long to get it cleaned next time, then they won't have to soak it so much to get it clean. I hate renting those machines and doing it yourself, you end up spending almost as much, plus having to haul it from the store and back and usually have to make an extra trip for more solution, or go through the hassel of taking back what you don't use. ChemDry gave me a magnet this time for one free room for life, so each time I have at least 3 rooms cleaned, then they will do the 4th one free. Going shopping today for a few more things I need to spruce up my house, a new front door welcome mat, something to set in the center of the kitchen table, you know, those kind of things you, or at least I, don't think about. |

Let me post that recipe for you guys..I doubled it..
Yes, unlimited bacon was yummy and I am still full..I didn't overdo it, of course. I'll be back with the recipe.. Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars 1 cup finely ground pecans and walnuts 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 stick of butter, melted 2/3 cup of Splenda 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs, beaten SFree Chocolate Chips (1/2 cup or more) chopped nuts (1/2 cup or less) Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl. Butter/pam a 8 x 8 pan and pour in cookie bar mixture and bake at 350 until done. It will take about 20 minutes or so. Cool and serve. I kept mine covered in the fridge. __________________ I doubled this recipe for a 9 x 13..I also used 1 cup of almond flour and 1 cup of walnut flour Last edited by CarolynF; 06-09-2012 at 11:38 AM.. |

BTW, DH got his latest blood test results back and these readings match the ones from about a month ago. He goes in to see his Dr. a week from Friday. I can't wait to see her face when he tells her he hasn't eaten one serving of grains since she told him to eat 8-12 svgs a day!!! And no potatoes, bread, etc. We really attribute these spectacular recent changes to adding the ProFibe and HeartSavior supplements to his normal daily regime. Truly amazing results!!! I'm so thrilled for him.

MK, have you thought anymore about trying those supplements to see if they would lower your chol? They sure did a great job helping DH.

I have! But I have this new doc and she keeps trying meds to see what would work. I haven't been able to stay on any of them long enough to get a followup blood test. I'm hoping this one will be OK, I can get the test and depending on the results, I can suggest your DH's cocktail!
Did he have any side-effects? |

Morning!
Sandy, great news on DH results. So good when you find something that really works and doesn't have bad effects on you. I need an energy cocktail, but not the ones everyone is drinking and like what got Brett and me in trouble. Something natural that really works, I get tired of feeling older and tired. Not sure what I am going to do today, DH is going to watch a golf tournament and a car race so that keeps him busy, now, what do I want to do???? I went yesterday and found some new decorative items for the house, just a little change makes it seem fresher somehow. Also got the cats 2 new catbeds at Marshalls because they match the colors in our bedroom. They have now sniffed and touched every item I brought home but do you think even one of them has laid down in the new cat beds???? Oh no, they don't know who those are for but they much prefer to lay on our furniture ![]() |

I don't think either one of these supplements interferes with meds. The ProFibe is just water soluble fiber from grapefruit I think?? And the Heart Savior is a mixture of all natural supplements. There is tons of info on both online. Good luck to you. |

Buffy - I vote for good old coffee!
And sprinkle some catnip on their new beds ~ they'll love them!' Sandy - good to know! I have no idea if the new doc is open to "radical" ideas like natural cholesterol reducers. So that's why I'm going to wait on the next blood work before I bring it up! |

MK, this is going to sound crazy but 5 years ago, my total cholesterol was 170. Not bad but not super duper. Then I tried LC. Didn't stick with it but developed a love of some of the LC foods on Netrition that get their lower carb count from increased fiber. My fiber 5 years ago was less than 10 grams per day, I'm sure. Now it's a solid 30-35 grams, if not more some days. My cholesterol now? `114 total, HDLs 54, LDL 43 (!), making my ratio 0.8, a ridiculously low number! I know it is the big increase in fiber. I know some call them "frankenfood" but boy, it made a huge difference in my numbers! So eating increased fiber bread, some of the high fiber tortillas and these things Fiber Gourmet Half-Calorie Snack Crackers did it for me.

Hi gals..
Crazy day..We have a new pastor..It was 95 to 1..which is a good thing..We have more people in the church, but these were the members who voted. On the chocolate chip bars..I don't know the carb count..I'm bad about that.. Yeah for Sandy's dh's numbers..I was listening to Eric Westman on Jimmy's podcast and he said your body doesn't need any carbs. And your blood only has one tsp. of sugar in it in all that blood.. Wow, Cindy, your numbers are amazing.. Dh is leaving for BC tomorrow..Slacks in the washer.... |
