WTG Jess!!! We're giving up wheat here too. We've discovered that even sugar-free, low carb items that have wheat in them make my DH's blood sugar jump way up. And a lot of low carb stuff does still have wheat. Ugh.

Sounds like a great plan Carolyn. Good news about the kids. I'm sure the pastor will help give him reassurance for the next time this comes up or something else. I'm sure she'll go through some difficult adjustments; I just hope she adjusts quickly for Brett's sake.

The painters are back today- but are gone for some reason . . . .
So I'm trying to stay out of their way and therefore shoveling mulch and pulling weeds again!

Brett is heading tomorrow night to Wichita for Rachel's graduation on Saturday. So, hoping it will be a happy time..Oh..he and the youth pastor had a time warp..The pastor said 6 a.m...for their meeting,but Brett went at 6 p.m..so, they are trying again next
Tuesday..

I think my suitcase situation will work out..Now, Gary's clothes are much simpler to pack. He will be home tomorrow from his trip..

Don't forget swimsuit, coverup, hat and sunglasses for poolside. One little bitty bag to carry around on the ship with your ship card, whatever they call it, that you use to charge things on and a lipgloss, etc.

Brett and Rachel will figure it out, my DGS 18 is just finishing his first year of college and is worrying his mom to death, he wants to make all his own decisions and is kind of floundering around but they have to just be there for him and let him figure it out.

MK, is that a glider? I did that once, ok, glad I tried it but won't be doing it again. Your house is always abuzz with comings and goings.

I leave on my trip next Friday to spend a week with my cousins in Iowa. I'm flying up there and then we are taking a road trip to South Carolina.

Today some office work, some errands and then DD#2 and I are going to the casino to play for a while and then to a dinner for invited guests at 7:00 pm. That will be fun. So far, no plans for the weekend which is good, has been a busy week and another coming up next week.

Buffy, where in SC? I love Charleston/Isle of Palms area but also love Myrtle Beach. Notice how they both have beaches, lol. I'm pretty sure my part of Heaven will include a beach.

Busy day today. I'm meeting the girls for a jewelry warehouse sale and maybe lunch, dinner out with friends tonight and then we're getting the baby tomorrow morning until about 1:30. I haven't seen him since Easter!! I hope he hasn't forgotten us. Then a graduation open house for my niece and niece-in-law, then Cinco de Mayo event at our fav Mexican restaurant. Danger!!! And it's going to be HOT here today and tomorrow. Plus I really need to at least straighten up the house. The older I get the more I hate housework!

Thanks everyone for the congrats! I was super shocked myself, I keep getting on the scale in the morning just so I can see that low number and make sure that it's still there.

Sandy: Going wheat free is a pain! It's in everything! My biggest surprise was when I found it in my two favorite salad dressings. I'm reading the book Wheat Belly right now and it's very interesting. But you're right wheat is in lots of low carb items too. I miss my low carb wraps the most.

Buffy - it's a 2-seater airplane, not a glider - which are actually called sailplanes, or so say my pilot friends!
The guy sitting on the wing is my friend's husband and he builds planes to sell to people and for his own use. He also rebuilds Ferrari's and Porsche's!

You are flying to Iowa and then driving to SC!?!
Wow! Long trip!
Last time we were in SC we stayed on Fripp Island.

Busy weekend. NOthing exciting though.

Had fun with DD#2 at casino last night although we spent 30 minutes evacuated to the bathrooms to ride out a severe storm alert. Some people chose to keep playing the machines. Had to wade through water halfway up my calves to get to the car in the parking lot when we left. We went for a dinner and show, that part was fun.

Yes, will be fun to hear all about Linda Sue.

Hi...

Had a great dinner at the hotel last night..There are so many people..really quite a variety, young, old, professionals, working people, retired people..It is amazing. Some are a little funny about their food...fussy..But not us..LOL..

Linda Sue and Jerry sat with us at the dinner last night. She is darling and Jerry (who had the kidney transplant last year) is doing well and looking good. He is retired now.
Vanessa and Kent are supposed to be here, too, but the crowd was very large last night and couldn't see them. We took pictures of us..She might post them first as she isn't cruising with us, unfortunately.

Beginning of a busy week as I leave on vacation on Friday early AM.

Wondering how our Carolyn is getting along on the waves, sure hope she doesn't get sick.

I have 2 appointments today for business, then need to get the pedicure, the threading of brows, pack, you all know the routine we have to go through.

Yep, know that routine. It takes us at least a week to get ready to go. And then a week to recoup when we get home, right?

MK: Wine is fine for wheat free But I've had to give up on vodka because that is often made from wheat and it's enough to set me off I found out. And of course fruit flavored vodka (especially strawberry!) mixed with diet sprite has been my favorite drink since going low carb. I haven't been much in the mood to drink lately so I guess it doesn't matter to much.
