Pennyrich Bras!!!!! Finally found it. They're not around anymore but they used to sell them at home parties. They were expensive but they were great bras! Ok, I can let that go now. I've been trying to think of that name for about a week and I was going crazy!

Just hoping everyone is ok, what a horrible outbreak of tornados. Check in everyone!
We are getting rain this morning but no storms are predicted. I am waiting for my flowers to plant them in my pots, my SIL is getting them with me through his business. |

Well, I had a 12 oz. steak and salad last night after having 4 cheese sticks and coffee with cream for brunch and I lost 1/2 pound but I also ran 7 miles and hiked. So it's okay if I eat that much? Am I eating too much?

I think the storms missed us. If we had anything it was while we were sleeping. I think it was closer to Carolyn than anybody. Please check in Carolyn so we know you are safe and Brett got to Wichita safely.
Oriana, nobody can tell you if you're eating too much or not. What you're eating sounds great; if you lose, wonderful, if you don't you might have to adjust a little. SEVEN MILES!!!! Wow!!! That hardly even sounds like enough food to me for that kind of activity, but IDK, I've never run any thing close to 7 miles. MK, my tile guy and plumber are going to be here first thing tomorrow so my dad is going to come paint one of the extra bedrooms and extra bath upstairs. Our whole upstairs is extra for us, lol.

Hi..
Everyone was safe from the storms..The tornado in Wichita was about a mile from Rachel's house, but she and Brett were okay..Thank God. He got there an hour before the tornado did...Perfect timing, huh? We are fine..thanks..Our town just had some storms this a.m., but nothing bad. Oriana..Gosh, girl...Running 7 miles is incredible. If you are losing, then your plan is perfect for you..That is my "rule"..Obviously, you are doing something right. Wow..Sandy/MKay, how nice to get a fresh paint job..Love it when someone else paints other than me..

Morning!
Just looked at the pictures of the tornado damage in Creston, IA. That is where DH grew up, pretty bad damage but no injuries. Carolyn, I need one of those vacuums that runs itself, all the time, chasing the cats around and cleaning up after them. Wouldn't they like that? Have to take my car in at 1:00, now that I know what that appt. is for, LOL. |

Hi ladies..
Yes, I thought of you and Creston, Buffy... Oh..Rachel just got offered a teaching contract for Southeast High School in Wichita...Hurray for her.. I'm cooking brisket in shifts..We have a dinner for 20 for a potential pastor on Saturday night..Not my house..thank the Lord cuz I will be having company, but don't have to entertain them. One lady wanted to order beef from Arby's..or the ham..ICKY..I told her I would get brisket and cook it....Now, I know it will be better than having Arby's roast beef.. |

LOL..Mary Kay..I'm sometimes a little particular when feeding guests..LOL..
..Don't you agree?....I hope that brisket isn't too fatty..I got 2 whole ones and sliced some of the fat off, but most of it melts down when it is being cooked. Thanks for the Rachel kudos..Now, we don't know if her dad is taking the Atlanta job yet. |

Thanks for the BBQ heads up. I'll try to catch it.
I'm pooped! My dad and I painted one of the bedrooms and the bath upstairs. The tile guy will be back tomorrow to grout and I think we're going to paint another bedroom upstairs and then put the 2nd coat on the new bath downstairs. I've certainly gotten my exercise today. Plus I ran right into the end of my kitchen counter where it drops down for the desk. I know I'm going to have a huge bruise and I think I knocked my back out of whack. I really hit it HARD!! I love your brisket recipe Carolyn!! I just wish I could find brisket on sale, at least once in awhile. I can't believe how expensive it is! Yay for Rachel!!!! That's great. How far is Wichita from Indep? Do you think things are looking serious?? I can't wait to hear about your cruise. I hope you have a wonderful time. MK, yes, all storms are gone. For now. It does look cloudy though. I don't mind good old fashioned thunder storms but I hate tornadoes. And no, my sister doesn't have a basement. Especially at her lake place. Which is a new trailer!! She says she's scouted out a reinforced wall bathroom, but I've seen that bathroom and I'm not comforted by that, lol. |

Hi ladies..
One brisket cooked, one marinating in the fridge...Watched a video on how to cut the whole thing..The flat is the best part, but the grain is different on the flat than it is on the top part..I had a lot of tougher meat from the top, so I put it in a baggie and will make beef/veggie soup with it some other time... Wichita is 2 hours from Independence..Things might be serious..LOL..I think so.. Brett's college friend Brian and his wife lost their baby last week. He was 30 or so weeks along and the cord was wrapped around his neck..Brett was really devastated by this. He and Rachel went to the visitation on Sunday. So very sad... ![]() Sandy..wow..you and your dad are a team..Maybe a trip to the chiro is in order for you girl. No...just pay attention to the weather and head for a solid place. Company coming Thursday, so I have a few days to get everything done. |

Does anyone struggle with the "head thing" about eating all this fat and protein. I used to be on an all fruit diet and one of the hardest things to get over is how can this be healthy even though I have lost weight. Any advice?

Morning!
Made it to car appt and left my beloved old Blackie in their care. Got the estimate, the things that really need to be done are going to come to a little over $2900, OUCH! But, Blackie is 12 years old and a BMW and we all know they think they parts are so much better than other parts that they must charge a fortune for them and a fortune to put them in, but, it does have 122,000 miles on it, runs like a champ and we have spent very little money on it over the 12 years so I have opted to put this into it and keep it. I really love the car, it is the first SUV they came out with. For an additional 1000 I could have all systems flushed out but DH said some had already been done and that wasn't really needed at this time. Good think he was there to help decide b/c at that point I was thinking that whatever Blackie needed to be perfect again, Blackie could have but DH assured me that Blackie will be just fine without all those extras they were trying to add on. So, in the meantime I am driving a brand new BMW in an attempt to tempt me of course but I am not tempted, I am so loyal to my Blackie. Should get him back in a day or two. Then off to be detailed and should be like new again and good for another 122000 miles! ![]() Carolyn, the brisket will be soooo much better than Arby's. Yay for Rachel and yes, are things looking serious? Such sad news about the baby, hate for things like that to happen to our young happy families. Yes, it is hard at first to wrap your head around the fact that they were wrong in preaching that fat and protein were bad, carbs were good. But, it is a delicious journey so embrace it and listen to what your body is showing and telling you. Not only should you lose weight but your next blood work will be better as well, or usually is. Glad everyone is safe from the terrible storms.

Happy Birthday Cindy! I hope you had a great day!
![]() Carolyn: I loved that video! I can haz is always great for a smile. I’m sure your brisket will be much better than Arbys. I wouldn’t worry too much about the little tasty fat layer. Just think about all the sodium and preservatives you are saving your guests from by making the brisket. I love brisket but I only get it when it is on sale, they are so easy to make and they taste so good. Sandy: Way to go on all the home improvements! I bet it will be lovely when it’s all done ![]() Buffy: I hope Blackie appreciates all the TLC you are giving him! I’ve got a 10 year old car and I can appreciate how attached you get to them after a while, I want my cr-v to last for several more years. Oriana: Just listen to what your body is telling you. If you feel good that’s what matters ![]() I made a tasty beef roast in the slow cooker yesterday. My BF gobbled it down so fast he was practically licking the plate. He even chopped up the bit of leftovers to take for lunch today. I’m thinking of planting some strawberries this year. I got one of those topsy turvy things a few years ago but never used it. We rent so I can’t plant in the backyard. I think our back porch gets enough sun that I could hang the planter there. I’m going to have to do it this weekend if I’m going to try it, it’ll be getting a bit late in the planting season soon.

Hi gang..
Good for you, Buffy..Investing in Blackie will be well worth your while. We did the same thing with our older Toyota as dh just uses it for work and back. Runs like a top with that newer transmission..LOL. Yup, it did take a while to get used to eating fat and protein..Oriana..Remember the book Fear of Flying? It was like Fear of Fat. Well, brisket #2 is going in the oven for its afternoon bake. I think I cut the first one wrong, but it was still tender, so I will cut this one against the grain..duh.. they got married or anything..Its fine with me. |
