Morning!
Loved the FB pictures, seems like through FB we get to know each other even better. I don't floss much but my dentist office seems to think I do, I do use an electric toothbrush and love it. The salad looks great Carolyn, I read through the whole thread and printed the recipe. Will be great for summer cookouts. Laundry done yesterday, will be office today. We don't do too much in the way of jobs for our business these days but we do have a large job in June and another really big on the first week of July. Will be hard on the guys in that heat and they will have to pace themselves but happy to have the work.

Hi ladies,
Exercised, then did errands.....It is nice and cool today..Dh is off to Atlanta..Taxes are ready so I have to pick them up on Friday.. Yes, you can never have too much bacon. We ate this for a meal last night and dh loved it. Oh...the dentist....It's good that I make my 6th month appointment when I leave otherwise I probably wouldn't be as regular.. |

Morning! Couldn't sleep so up early for me.
I recently purchased a Phillips Diamond Head Sonic toothbrush and I have to say, it not only cleans my teeth better but they feel really clean for hours. It was $199 at Kohl's, but of course on sale, plus I had a 30% off coupon and some Kohl's cash so it ended up very cheap. I notice that on small appliances, they raise their price, then put them on sale, LOL. Maybe dinner club tonight, it was scheduled but haven't heard a word from the gal who was supposed to send out a reminder, so, not sure if she forgot, or is planning on it. She travels a lot and might have slipped her mind. Trying to get a hold of her. More office work today, need to get out and find a cute card for DH's birthday which is Sunday. He can't think of any gift he wants so we are going out to dinner wherever he chooses. It will be BEEF. |

Beef.....it's what's for dinner!! Our fav meat at our house but we are trying to eat more fish. I am still trying to learn how to cook fish. I know how to bread it and deep fry it!! Lol. That won't work here anymore.
I can't believe it. I stepped on the scale this a.m. and it read 139.4!!!! I of course went to my trusty file with all my weight records and on March 31, 2007 I weighed 138.5. For a day. I think one other day I weighed 139.something but all the rest since were in the 140s and 150s. I hate that DH has had to change his diet but I do have to say it's certainly helped me stay eating right. I've hovered for a long time now, up-down, up-down, but I just kept eating right and this week it's started to creep off again. Ok, I'm off to pickup my dad. He's taking me to lunch today. I don't remember if I told you all that we're doing an emergency remodel of our small bathroom. The one we've had the problems with the toilet. Well, Easter Sunday it started leaking again so now we have to replace the floor. And it was pergo!! Not fun. Plus the underlayment was a surprise to say the least. So I'm repainting, redecorating, the whole nine yards since it's all torn up anyway. Oh, plus we're getting a new toilet. A tall one!!! For our old knees, lolol.

Stressful day at work so far. Not even halfway done but I needed a little break. Too many IT problems, and I really dislike having to mess around with the command prompt. Thank goodness I put a nice little brisket in the crockpot this morning before I left because I can already tell that I wouldn't have felt like cooking when I get home tonight.

Hi gang..
Sandy...how wonderful for you... Jess: I love brisket..Gotta buy one soon.. Oh yes, toilet troubles are the worst ever, but at least you will have a nice shiny tall one..I love mine.. Lunch today..A very interesting speaker from Pakistan (now a Christian) sharing about the Muslim culture/religion..... Rachel has 3 interviews tomorrow with Wichita schools for a math teaching position, so pray for God's will..She is soooo tiny..Tinier than MKay, so she needs to have a big presence when teaching high school..

Sandy, You have to share what you eat each day to help us all. Do you really eat strictly Atkins? Are your amounts miniscule or enough to fill a big appetite like mine. I still say that this is an answer to prayer. Can you share a little or have you already and I missed it. What is your typical day like with amounts?

I usually don't track what I eat but I'll try to give you an idea.
Coffee with half & half ever morning. Either a couple of eggs cooked in butter or a protein shake for breakfast. A salad with meat or just some leftover meat from dinner, or some egg salad or tuna salad for lunch meat and veggies with butter and sometimes a salad too. I use plenty of fat and I take coconut oil or coconut butter most days too. I also drink ACV in my water a couple times a day and started mixing l-glutamine into the water too twice a day. I also recently added borage oil and mega EFA to my supplements. I've just started these things in the last month or so?? I've also tried to cut out all night time snacks. If I have anything, I try to just have a few unsalted roasted almonds or raw almonds. Today, I'm back up a little over a pound. I'm not surprised by that b/c I ate a large lunch of a salad and buffalo wings with a light beer yesterday with my dad and then had chili last night for dinner. No beans just meat, but I probably ate too much of it. I love to eat and usually have large portions. I don't like to feel deprived. That's why I like to eat this way. I don't have to constantly think about food. |

Morning!
Oh Jess, IT problems are sooo frustrating! Sandy, kudos for the weight loss and it was the beer that bounced you back up, don't you think? If I have a drink of any kind anymore, I am always up the next day. Love that you take all those good fats in, and how they tried to and succeeded in brainwashing everyone into thinking fat was bad for us and we can all just look around and see the results of that little experiment! I still get on my kids about feeding the grandkids low fat products, give them real fat and good fats. And of course, way less carbs. Brisket, that is funny, I was just thinking as I looked at the grocery ads on Wed. that brisket should be on sale soon! I need to get one too, I usually cut it in thirds and then freeze 2 of them. Good luck to Rachel on the teaching positions. My son in law has always enjoyed working with college kids while my daughter prefers elementary and they both are great at what they do, or so this Mom thinks!! MK, glad you kitties and your teeth all got A+'s. Oh my, I have a person's name, which I don't recognize, plus 1:00 pm on my calendar for next Monday? What kind of appt. did I make, with whom? Oh no, not a phone number or anything, I can't remember it at all. Old age is the pits I tell you. Hope it comes to me by Monday ![]() ![]() ![]() Oriana, how are you doing so far? |

Have any of you been to a CABI party? It is a hostess party but they sell this amazing line of clothes. I went just for support with no intention of buying anything but loved, loved the clothes and we had so much fun trying on all the outfits along with some wine and great food. What a fun night we had.

Haven't heard of CABI but sounds interesting. I remember years ago there was a company who had parties and sold clothes. Also, there was a bra party where they fit you with an amazingly supportive and comfortable bra. I wish I could remember the name of that bra! It was in the late 60s or early 70s??? Anybody remember that?
We went out with friends for dinner last night. I had the grilled shrimp skillet with onions and peppers. No chips or tortillas or rice. I did have a few low carb beers though. But I stayed the same on the scale this a.m. Hard for me to do on a weekend. |

Morning.
Sounds like a lot of the midwest is under threat of some bad storms today, be very aware of what is going on with the weather you gals up through there. I don't remember the bra parties Sandy, but we had all kinds of those home parties. I know it is hard to get people out to those types of things anymore, everyone is so busy. My friend only had 7 of us attend but had over a $2000 party, the clothes were just made so well, with very nice detailing, things you didn't see in any stores, and the materials and the fit were amazing. I bought a maxi dress with a little short sleeved sweater to go with and think it is something I will wear and wear and wear, so comfortable. So glad maxi dresses and long skirts are back in right now, always fun to wear. Thinking about meeting some of my friends at the casino today, we have as much fun visiting as we do playing those penny machines! |

Thanks Sandy that is so helpful. I too like big portions. I have 4 cheese sticks for breakfast, coffee with HWC and splenda and then I don't eat again til dinner which is usually a 10-12 oz ribeye, 3 cups salad with lots of ranch and diet coke. Does this sound okay to you? I'm new at this.

Buffy - pic of your new outfit!!!
I remember home parties for kid's clothes too! My kids dressed alike for pictures and special occasions! Sandy - I don't remember bra parties - did you Google it? I had chicken marsala, green beans, salad and pasta for dinner - along with Maker's Mark on the rocks. I only ate 1/2, but not weighing this morning! |

Hi..
Gosh, Cindy...I always love your beautiful yard..You have a great place for hostas..Are the "boys" still there?? Brett lands in KCity at 3:30, barring no thunderstorms or tornados..Who knows? Dh and I went out for breakfast..Had a big one..no carbs, but I am still full and it is 1 p.m. So, I shouldn't eat if I am not hungry, right??? Oriana: If you can eat 10-12 ounces of steak at once and not gain, then good for you. If it works, then great. No bra parties..Of course, I was living on my own and my friends only had Tupperware parties...LOL.. There was home party for clothes from Lancaster County, PA. But I lived in on the East Coast so it was close to PA..Anyone have those??? Dh is working today trying to catch up..He will be gone all next week. |

Oriana, if it's working for you, go for it! We're all so different that it's hard to say what will work. What works for one doesn't work as well for another. I for one can eat 10-12 oz of steak and still lose. Thank goodness...I LOVE steak!
MK, yes, I'll google that! Cindy, Love your pics of your garden. The fruit of all your labor. Good for you! Carolyn, it's 3:00 here and it's getting darker but radar shows nothing south of St. Joseph so ??? Is he driving back home after he lands? Buffy, that dress sounds so cute! I love maxi dresses to but rarely wear them. I really don't know why??? |

Cindy your garden is amazing!!
I live in Lancaster Pa! But I've never been to a home party for clothes. In college one of my friends had a "toy" party but that's the only kind of home party I've ever been to. |
