How to measure protein grams?
Hi Everyone,
I just read through many of stickies here and was feeling confused about the protein ratios. I saw that it might only be 75 grams a day for me, and it sounded very very low! (and un-doable for me without great effort) But then I started thinking that maybe it's not the grams in 'weight' of the protein, but how much is digested.. Is that true? So for example, a 8 oz steak (which weighs 250 grams) would be counted as 38.8 grams of usable protein (according to a nutrition table). Please set me straight!

Doh! After no response here, I asked some friends and realized that of course, it's the amount in the nutrition table.
That's actually a lot of protein - I mean not too much, but perfectly adequate to one's eyes as well as stomach. |

Hi Metqa,
Unfortunately the steak was just a random protein I plugged into the nutrition counter.. but now that you mention it, that would make a nice Friday night dinner.. |
