Buffy: I totally agree with you on the ranch dressing..Even if you make your own from the little packets, it is not as good as some restaurants..Maybe I should try Pioneer Woman's recipe.

Dh took an earlier flight and got home at 10:00..He didn't even know about the tornados heading his way..

Carolyn may I ask what reciepe you use for your LC pizza? I've tried a bunch of different ones including those cauliflower ones everyone seems to like but I just haven't found the right one for me yet.

Morning!
Carolyn, if you have a restaurant where you like their dressings, you might try buying it like we did. I used to buy it from another local restaurant but they have since closed.

Taking my friend shopping today from noon on, while her DH gets ready to surprise her with a party when we get back. I think I got the best "helping out" job!!

Weight at 206 and has been staying there so I am ready to drop down to 205 and waver for a a bit.

Hope all the storms are over for folks and glad Gary is back home safe and sound.

Hi ladies..

Honestly, I just ballpark mine with almond flour, an egg, and shredded mozzarella cheese until it looks like a thick batter..I bake it by itself on a pizza pan until it is done, then add the sauce/cheese/veggies/meat and rebake it until done.

Buffy: We would love to see you in Onderland this year..We could have a big LC party..
I know you will make it..

Exercised..I got some ranch dip for our Sunday group at Braum's today..I wonder how it is..LOL.

I have and they are fairly good. I made the cauli crust. Calorically, it was about the same as deep dish, regular crust and since I'm not LC, I didn't see the point but they are worth trying.

Has anyone ever tried the Carb Addict's Diet? I know of some gals who love this and have lost a lot of weight by eating two low carb meals and one reward meal. Even Barry Groves says that is not good to snack because the insulin needs a rest but you sort of save your carbs for your reward dinner. Just curious or if you know of someone who has had success

Morning!
Oriana, I did the CAD diet for a year and loved it. I lost about 10 lbs initially but then just stayed the same but ate like a king. That was about 10 years ago before I found out I have diabetes and haven't gone back to it. I did however know several people who did really well on it and there used to be a very active forum on the web, that has since gone away. Do you have the book?

DGS 12 is coming over today while his parent's go to the Home and Garden show. I think he and I are going to take in a movie, don't know what he has picked out yet.

Had a good time shopping with my friend yesterday but she was really tired and I could tell she was more than ready to go home before I was supposed to take her home, so had to keep coming up with more things I "needed" to go look at , usually it is the opposite and she is raring to go. But, I think we pulled it off and now finally, we can put her 50th birthday to rest

My weight is up a little this morning from the 2 glasses of wine I had last night, that always means a gain for me the next day so will be drinking lots of water today.

I was down 1.5 pounds after yesterday. I ran a 1/2 marathon with my daughter and just had water and then ribeye and a salad doused in ranch after with a diet coke. I wasn't hungry so just had a sf raspberriy smoothie made with 1/2 cup cream, raspberries, sf raspberry syrup, ice and water. YUM. Today was a cream cheese omelete and 2 slices of bacon, coffee with cream. I may have a chicken thigh and salad with ranch later. My CAD diet is high fat and sometimes my rm is high fat low carb but sometimes it isn't like today I am having an apple, 1 cup of chunky peanut butter and 2 king size Reesees pb cups, tea with heavy cream. I just save my carbs for dinner and eat my rm in an hour. I do not snack on this and don't have a desire to. Some days I don't feel like breakfast or lunch although Barry Groves says not to skip breakfast so most days I have it.

Hi gals..

My ds did the CAD diet one summer when he lived with us and worked..It worked great for him..He had a LC breakfast, carby lunch, and LC dinner..Of course, he was 21 at the time and ran every night. Gosh, it is a great plan if you exercise, I think...alot.

Buffy: LOL..glad you had fun..Wine always makes me gain..always..

I'll have to look at that thread, too...

March is sure windy around here..Bad for contacts..

Hope you are all having a good Sunday..

Connie is doing better (Shawn says)..I think they are weaning off of her pain drugs, which is a good thing.

I did the CAD diet years ago too. It did seem to work but I think I overdid the RM. Especially on weekends when I'd figure out how to eat dinner AND get in popcorn too for a movie, lol. I do much better really limiting my carbs so I don't have the cravings.

We're having T-bones tonight with sauteed mushrooms and salad with blue cheese dressing. And I'm hungry! I did our taxes today which always stresses me out. I'm always afraid I'm going to mess something up, but so far so good.

We went for a long walk this a.m. with our pooch. She was very happy about that. The weather is beautiful although it's gotten quite windy here this afternoon.

Tomorrow is the day I'm going to try an all protein/fat day. I have 2 lunches this week so I need to pre-empt any damage as early as I can, lol.

Hi ladies!

Can I join you all? I have been doing EFGT for a since the middle of January and I LOVE it! I keep track of all my food on ****** and it has been going well. I started January 10 at 147 and I am 136.5 today! I find that if I don't have a salad or nuts everyday, I don't do as well. I am also doing Insanity and start my 2nd month tomorrow! Can't wait!

My cals are usually between 1500-1800. I find with my workouts I have to eat more to lose better. I love that I can eat more carbs on this program. I feel like I have a lot more control. I still need to get the book, but I have done a lot of research and am happy to have found this woe.

Stacey...Welcome...we love new peeps..You are doing amazing... Nuts are really hard to eat in moderation, I think...

Sandy: With CAD, you would have to eat the popcorn for dessert with your RM...LOL.Glad you got your taxes done..Dh has to round up the stuff for the accountant..He hates to do that..even the rounding up part...

Calling the plumber tomorrow..Hall toilet needs a little something done to it and I will have him put in the new kitchen faucet I bought a year ago..LOL

I agree with you Carolyn, I love nuts but I have little self control with them. It's always the finger/snacky foods that end up being my downfall.

Gremom, you mentioned you were doing Insanity. Is it a diet/exercise program? I don't think I've heard of it before.

Morning and to our newcomers.

Ah yes, that RM, it could get crazy. Especially when I first tried the diet and on that forum I mentioned, noboby was worried about the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 of protein, veggies and carbs, it was more like a free for all meal that we were all really loving. Some had success even doing it that way but for most it needed to be more controlled and for those of us who started out using it as an excuse to just go crazy at the RM, it wasn't effective for weight loss, but, I have to say that I was amazed that I could eat that way and maintain my weight and not gain. Especially back then when I had this huge appetite. I was baking a dessert every night for dinner and it was fun. We all called it the "hour of power"

Beginning of another week of just routine chores and things to do but as all of them do, it will fly by in the wink of an eye.

Beautiful sunny weather here, feel sooo sad for the tornado victims, those storms were sooo bad.

Hi gals..

Buffy: LOLOL..On the Hour of Power..I love it.

Tornados are horrible..We have never had one in our town yet..But, 30 miles away, they had one several years back and 90 miles away..the terrible Joplin one...We have driven over there lately and it is still bad...There will be one new re-built house in a neighborhood with nothing...

I was 153 this morning..Where is the chisel to get down to 150..

I did order some Raspberry Ketones to try..They came this morning and I took one..There is a thread on them under Supplements...One gal lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks..

You knew that would get our attention Carolyn, 20 lbs in 2 weeks! Of course I ran right over to the link to look at the R ketones, LOL.

I was at 205.8 this morning, the 2nd time I have seen under 206 so keeping teeth crossed to I can't over eat,

I didn't weigh this morning, but am suspecting I am up just a tad. DH and were away for a long weekend for our 10 year anniversary and I indulged in dessert on Sundat at Outback. It was soooooo good! And I am expecting TOM too, so the scale will be a bit skewed.

I weigh out all my food and have to weigh nuts or I will go nuts with them! I really can't eat too many or I will get a belly ache. I guess that is good portion control.

JessBunny, Insanity is a workout program. It is 60 days and VERY intense, but I LOVE it! Google it and you can get info. I started month 2 today and the workouts are now 60 minutes instead of 40 minutes and I did so much better than I thought. I have gotten so much stronger and slimmer since doing it.

Am backing off my cals a bit today. But will still come in about 1300.

Hope you all are having a marvelous Monday!

Hi Stacey...We all "indulge" from time to time, so you will fit right in here.
Your exercise plan sounds intense..Good for you.

New kitchen faucet in and toilet valve fixed..My plumber is fast..and reasonable.

I think Connie (Shawn's mother) is coming down from her drugfest after surgery. She says she is in less pain, too..

Wow Germom that sounds like quite the exercise program. Good job on sticking with it! I exercise every morning but it's only 20-30 min bopping around my living room to a zumba game. I'd like to up my exercise but if I go much past 30 min my asthma kicks in. I'm hoping in time I'll get better with it.

Jess, that are intense, but I really do love working out. My older brother is getting married in about 6 weeks and I will see a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time. That is my motivation to get this body into shape. I want to try zumba sometime. I think any working out is great!

Carolyn, glad to hear that your sink and toilet are in good working order. We need a new faucet, but just haven't gone and gotten one. Money just goes to other things. I'm not sure who Connie is, but I hope she feels better soon and has a easy recovery.

Hi gals..

Connie is my dd's motherinlaw who had a major hip replacement..she is overweight, even after 2 tummy bypasses and now has diabetes. So..ladies, keep in shape in case you have to have surgery..LOL..

JBunny: I go to my faux Curves and usually just do the treadmill for 2 miles or other exercises, depending on who is there..

I did pretty well today. I did end up having a very few carbs. I added asparagus to dinner and had a few almonds. Other than that I only ate eggs/meat/fat. Hopefully it'll jumpstart me for the week.

I'm glad to hear Connie is doing better. I can't imagine having that serious of a surgery being in such bad shape. It has to make her recovery seem overwhelming to her. Poor thing.

I have a massage in the a.m. then lunch with the girls. At the dreaded Mexican restaurant!!! I think I'll order tortilla-free fajitas or a taco salad-hold the beans, tortillas, etc. So mostly meat, lettuce, cheese and sauce.

I had a good day. I had 3 cheese sticks for breakfast with a cup of coffee and cream. Lunch was a chicken thigh, salad doused in Ranch and dinner was a protein shake make with raspberries and half cup of cream. I was full and considered the shake my reward dinner. I wasn't hungry til 8 p.m so and didn't want a huge meal. I like to save my carbs for my rm with the exception of salad for lunch. I was up to 108 after a rm of apple, peanut butter and Reesee cups last night. Ooops. I even ran 8 miles yesterday after doing a half marathon the day before. You see exercise really doesn't do a thing for me in the weight dept. I still gain . I just run to feel better but Barry says it isn't healthy to over exercise and it won' t help with weight loss.

Gremom, Zumba is a lot of fun, it feels less like exercise to me than most other activities. But I do it from a video game. I've seen the classes of it at my rec center but I don't think I would enjoy it in the classroom setting. I'm wildly uncoordinated and while it doesn't really matter if I accidently kick the sofa when exercising at home I would feel terrible if I hit someone else. That and when I get to steps I can't do I just make things up. And as I learned from the last time when I took a low-impact step class the people around you can get a bit annoyed when someone goes off and does their own thing during a class.

That sounds like a fun day Sandy! I think Mexican is one of the harder ones to eat out too. I usually wind up getting chicken wings
