Hi gals..

We had an 84 Chevy that Brett drove in highschool, then went on to be in a demolition derby for $125...LOL.

Oh..I love patchouli..so much. It reminds me of college days..Funny how the new looks are slightly different than the new looks..

Hey..maybe we should post a picture of ourselves when we were 21.. I'll go digging.

See that proves that you really can wear those bridesmaids dresses again!

My old pics are packed away upstairs so I'll have to get a rain check on this project, lol.

OK....stopppppppppp it!!!! I can't stop laughing!!!!!

I'm going to dig in my photos and see if I can find one from prom and post it. Tooooooooooooo funny!!!!

Carolyn: I was a senior in high school in 1972. How curious that everyone had the 'same' look regardless of their age then.

Did you notice my "cool shoes"? LOL

Junior prom, 1971. I made that dress. Hmmmmm....sort of looks like I'm going to prom in my nightgown doesn't it? And can you tell I ripped this photo out of a VERY old photo album.

I was into the whole 'peasant' look, but that hair was definitely saying something completely different...lol! It was a hunk of human hair pinned to my head and called a "fall". I sat in the beauty salon for over 2 hours while they pinned it and curled it. Yikes!

You all are too funny!

OK - I have one of "those" days, but I'll see if I can find a picture!!

I didn't need a fall in HS, I think my hair was down to my waist!

Running in to say "hi" on my way out the door. Heading down to Milwaukee to get in some much needed visiting time with family and friends.

Sandy: I'm sure I too would have been mortified if my hair fell off!!!...lol! I have several 'embarrassing' moments and of course stories that go with them so I would like to know exactly how the fall fell... I think the most mortifying moment for me came in 6th grade when we were square dancing with the boys in gym class...yeah...I know...and my wrap skirt came untied and the darn thing slid down to my knees before I could catch it! OMG...that moment totally re-defined the word "blush" in my vocabulary.

MK: I was always envious of all those 'hippie type' women with long hair. There was just something about long, straight hair and peasant clothes that was particularly appealing to me. I have NO idea why...

Carolyn: Just wanted to let you know that I think I've got the 'starving' thing under control...finally! I did lots of research and tweaking and I think for me, eating a totally fat and protein breakfast of almost 500 calories helps to set the pace for the rest of the day.

Yesterday my numbers were:
Calories: 1311
Fat: 99g (69%)
Pro: 67g (21%)
Carb: 43g (11%)

My breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs, coffee, cream at 9:30. Lunch didn't happen until 2:00 and I had a large salad with peppers, tomatoes, onions, cauliflower, shredded cheese and ranch dressing. I was barely hungry for dinner that was a small serving of homemade chili with lots of veggies, meat and beans, topped with cheese. And then I had a cup of sliced peaches with cream and sweetener.

AND I WASN'T HUNGRY ALL DAY!!!!!

I guess there is hope

All for now. Will post if I get the chance, otherwise, I'll be back on by early next week. So c'mon Buffy, MK, Sandy, Boots and Lose, post some fun pics and stories! Winter is long and boring without laughter!

Later gators!!!

I had a fall, too.. LOL..I forgot about it, but would wear it alot and thought it looked great..LOL....around 68-69..

Donna: I remember wrap skirts, too..and kilts. and paper dresses..LOL.
Barry Groves would be proud of you..His mantra is to eat a big breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner, so you are doing just that. I might have to try that, too. Have fun in Milwaukee..

Weather is doing better..cold and clear. Did my Wallie run to make LC lasagne for lunch tomorrow before the KState game. I use sliced deli chicken meat for my noodles.

Up a little..

Just got a call from my Diabetic friend, Barb..She is going to a diabetic specialist who is sending her to a LCarb specialist next week. They are trying to get her insulin amounts down. She said she switched from having an English muffin with peanut butter to 2 pieces of cinnamon toast with peanut butter and her numbers went down. My hopes is that the
nutritionist will tell her to ditch the bread forever. We will see..I sent her some LC muffin mixes from Netrition..

It's really amazing when people just don't get it, isn't it? I just shake my head......

MK, the funny part is my hair was long when I had the fall, lol. I guess I thought the fall looked more cool or something???

Cold day! Shopped some with DDnow28 and DS19, lasagna for dinner and staying inside.

A friend's aunt died and I should really go to the prayer service tonight - will I be awful if I don't go??

I'm going to the visitation and funeral tomorrow.

Donna - I won't have a chance to look for pics until DS19 leaves on Sunday. But I promise I'll look!!

Sandy - I' sure you looked groovy!! :-D

I'm a little bit younger and didn't get to do a lot of the fun fashions because my mom wouldn't let me!! I remember my dad almost having a stroke when I said I wanted 'hot pants'!!!!

I learned to call them short shorts!

Sandy: Originally her first doctor told her to eat 45 carbs a meal..and 15 for a snack.
Honestly, now she has a new doctor who is definitely more LC friendly. I'll call her after
her appointment. I told her that she may be down to 15 or so a meal.

Oh, yes..Cindy..We know you haven't changed a bit..really..

Ds is coming over for the game KSU/OU game today. I made LC lasagne and one for him to take home. Then I made him some LC banana bread from Jennifer Eloff's recipe.

Did a fast 3 mile walk with Leslie S. at the gym and some other minor exercises..

Funeral and visiting went well.

I got to see all the kids I used to babysit for -

The oldest has 9 kids of his own from 2 months to 13, the next has 9 kids from 2 months to 19, the next one only has 4 (slacker - LOL) and the 4th has 7 kids!!
The youngest didn't even get married!
I think he was afraid!

Now lunch and then to my mom's for her birthday.
I wish it would stop snowing!!

I'm so tired of old people!

Visited my mom for her 82nd birthday ~ brought her some slipper socks, a picture from her house and one of her silk flower arrangements.
Re-gifting at it's finest!!
We brought the whole wing cupcakes with Hello Kitty rings on them.
After we convinced my mom it was't candy and was supposed to be worn, she was OK and loved the cupcakes.

All the women loved DS19 who was a really good sport about it.
"You are so cute"!

Now I'm home and tired. I'm ready for wine!

Just got home from Austin, had a great 2 day visit with DS and family, but am pretty tired tonight. Oliver at 1 is a pistol and runs me ragged just keeping an eye on him, caught him once with his head out the dog door, bad mema left the door to the utiility room open. He climbs up and runs around on anything and everything, going to be a busy next year I think.

DDIL colored my hair and one of her co-workers cut it and I really like it. Didn't last long at going gray! Same style so not much change.

I will have to find a picture of me in my younger days, don't think I have any prom pictures but I was a stylish young mommy at 19 and that is when most of the styles you are talking about came in, I was already married, I think I am the oldest of our group. I always wanted the long straight hair parted down the middle but will confess, I have never ever had long hair in my entire life. It got pretty tall there at one time, teasing it up and up and up but it was never long.

Off to bed, was fun to come home and catch up on my gal pals.
