Morning!
That is a skerry picture MK,

Think I am going to stay home today, about time to start getting this office back in order and some laundry done.

War Horse is on my list too.

The midwest is really having a mild winter this year, so nice as it will make what winter you do have seem like a short one, especially compared to last year.

Another pretty day here, supposed to get fairly warm.

Another senior moment for me last evening. I wanted a new toaster oven and DH got me a very nice one that even has a convection setting as well. I had taken it out of the box and plugged it in but hadn't used it until last night, wanted to make some toast. Well, I read the start up directions, realized I was supposed to run it 15 minutes before using it, so did that but could not get the settings to change on anything, no matter how many dials or buttons I pushed. It did heat up, so I got my toast made and then set down and looked over troubleshooting, no help, read even more of the manual, no help, oh, so frustrating to think I had to box it back up and take it back. Came out to the kitchen and took one more look at it and noticed a little black dot on the display panel, picked at it with my fingernail and off peeled this sticky paper that was on the display panel with preprinted stuff on it that had been covering up the real display panel, , all was working just perfectly, it was just a decal that was covering up what was really happening when I was pushing and turning all those buttons. Yes, the eyesight is definitely less sharp than it used to be too.

Just trying out my new Foodsaver, got the V3800, which Kohl's had for $199, gave me 20% off since they didn't have the cheaper one they advertised, plus I had 20% off and a $10 Kohl's cash, so it cost me $117 before tax and I am loving it. Very easy to use and sealing my left over toffee up very nice and vacuum packed. We will see how long it keeps it fresh tasting.
I find that Kohl's marks up their kitchen stuff to begin with but with their sales and % off's, you can usually end up with the best price there or at least equal and I have 2 Kohls very close by.

Oh...the wedding was lovely in the Pythian Castle..Old woodwork..etc..Shawn's dad married them, so that was special. Food was good..Beth did a great job on the coffee/hot chocolate bar..The cans of whipped cream were so popular with the younger set..LOL..

yes, it was 60 today..

I feel like MK as I was up at 5:30.

Buffy: I do those things, too...I'm proud of you for reading the instructions..Let me know how you like your new toy.

Oh Carolyn, I never read instructions until I have to, want everything to just set itself up and work right out of the box.

MK, you are ready and going, good girl.

Got through some of the things that needed done in the office yesterday, a lot more needs done though. Think I will pretty much stay home today except I might run over to Belk and Pennys to look for tall shirts for DH.

Carolyn, did you ever hear anymore about that little girl that went missing in MO? Seemed like they were looking closely at the mother but haven't heard any more.

Had fun last night watching videos DD had taken of Bobby and Ava on Christmas morning, so nice that they can capture all that fun for them to watch when they get older. I took pictures when my kids were young but they are kind of faded and hard to see these days and I never had a movie camera.

Hi Chicas!!

Rainy here today, but still warm.
Rowing/TRX was fun but hard. then to the library, cleaners, grocery, CVS, an hour on the phone to Express Scripts (avoid them at all costs ) back to CVS, and home for the night!

Picked up most of the living room from Christmas, as well as the entry way, hall, and 3/4 of the family room before I crashed.
There's still a bit to go, but at least I feel more "at peace" in the rooms!

Watched Taxi Driver last night. I'd forgotten what a good movie that was!

Buffy - I wish we'd had a video camera when the kids were small!!

Hi ladies..

Is that you on the end with the yellow jacket, MK? How was the rowing??

Nothing on that missing Lisa..I don't think. Maybe Sandy or Cindy heard something local..???? So sad.

I love little kid videos..So cute.

We had breakfast with dd and her dh and his folks before we all left. Poor Connie (shawn's mother) is badly in need of a hip replacement..Hopefully, she will get in January.

Ate at Red Lobster in Joplin on the way home. Broccoli and crab legs and salad. We sent back the rolls.

My goodness, Joplin is still a huge mess..Most of the houses are GONE, lumber taken away, etc..Then you will see a new house sitting in the middle of nothingness. St. Johns is still a total mess, but they have a Mercy clinic
set up in the back there.

Buffy, that is too funny!!

I don't have War Horse on my list as I am too sensitive!

Carolyn, not a word on baby Lisa. It will be interesting to see what really happened, if we ever find out.

Morning!

Oh dear, so much to do today, I am overwhelmed.

Oh well, why do today what you can put off until next year, right

Actually, I slept in and really am not planning on doing too much. Still in holiday mode here.

Wow Carolyn, very strong move on the biscuits, I'm impressed

Went out and found DH 7 new tall shirts yesterday and they were all on sale. Of course I didn't look at any that weren't onsale as these are mostly just for daily wear anyway. Penny's had the best selection, although they just had 1 little area but they were buy one, get one free and I had a coupon for extra off that so got $50 shirts for $20. Stopped by a Big and Tall stand alone store, they had some on sale, marked down from $100 plus to $97. Backed away very slowly and ran out the door Not like he is dressing for a business look or anything.

Stopped by Belk, they had 50% off their red dot clearance rack and I found their store brand knit tops that I love for casual wear that were $30, marked down to $12.99 so I got them for $6.49. They fit great, wash up great and come in every color, very comfy. I got 4 white ones, a cream one and a navy one, seems I always grab a white top with jeans, I'm not very adventurous I guess.

Still playing with my seal a meal, I love that thing. Found the replacement bags on sale at Kohl's, 10% off, then had a 15% off coupon and asked if I used my Kohl's card would it be cheaper and she said she could give me 20% more off??? I then asked what if I danced a jig but that seemed to end my savings

to all of you as you say goodbye to 2011 and welcome in 2012, let it bring health and happiness and maybe weight control or loss to us all.

Hi gals..

Yes, Jump Start is a great one, I think...Anyone else??? I need to jump rope more..LOL
or do jumping jacks or something...LOL

Dh and I met for breakie at McDonalds...Eggs/sausage...hold the carbs. Dh is such a whiner..I say be grateful for your food..Amen..LOL.

Buffy: Yes, those replacement bags aren't cheap..but you can use them more than once if you do a big one, when you are ready remove the toffee..Cut the top off and put more
toffee in and reseal it to make a smaller one. KWIM?

Anyone have exciting plans? Watch KSU play at 1..Brett went up to meet his old college friends there who have jobs and came back for the day..They are celebrating in AggieVille, then spending the night at the Holiday Inn..(within walking distance from the bars).

We might go to Mission Impossible tonight..Good???

Mission Impossible was good, a little overdone of course, but still entertaining.

We are going to DD#3's annual bash, very close to home and just a family friends affair, people come and go, bring their kids, it is fun and very casual.

We are staying home as Bf is om back up call tonight. I bought crab legs and filets at Costco today so that is dinner. Yes Carolyn, I like Jump Start as that is what I plan to do. There is a yoga class at my gym and I'm going to take it. We'll see how long this will last!

We went to see the in-laws yesterday and I ventured out to Walmart today! That's been my biggest outing yet. Walking around wise anyway.
I like Jump Start for Jan. I don't know how much jumping I'll be doing but I'll try some starting, lol.

We're going to try to see War Horse tomorrow. Tonight we're just going to eat at Outback. No dancing in the new year this year for me, lol. I might be awake at midnight but I doubt it.

I think I'll cook a pork roast tomorrow. Sounds yummy to me.

Buffy, those tops sound like a great deal as well as your DH's shirts. My DH always takes the week between Christmas and NY's off. I told him he has no idea how much money that saves him, lol. Especially this year with my knee. I feel like I'm missing out on those great sales though. Oh well, probably don't need anything anyway.

I just want to say Happy New Year to all of you. I'm so very thankful for your friendship and support!

Hi ladies..

Yes, a big Happy New Year hug from me, too..Our friendships are great..Wish we all lived closer..

Big date night..Mission Impossible..(I really liked it), then Mexican food. Got home at 8:00. Think I'll watch the Miss Marple Netflix I have.

Oh..Sandy...you are getting around. Let us all know about War Horse, k?

Oh..crab legs sound wonderful...enjoy your dinner, Cindy. You know..I think you will like yoga as long as your teacher is good and doesn't make you do really hard things at first.

Buffy: Have fun at your kiddos party tonight..

MK: I'm sure you are having fun family time, too.

I'm making heroin wings for a little get together tomorrow night..Has anyone had them?
They are wonderfully lowcarb..

Starting our new thread now.

I think I'll take my today's weight of 155..Up a pound, but down 3 since Christmas..
