Oh heaven's no, his mom did not get the gun, like I said, I didn't even know he was considering giving it to her and didn't have to talk him out of it after that happened of course!!

Sandy, very funny about your friend too, you just have to laugh at things like that b/c they could have been so much worse!

Oh my...This story is definitely a keeper..If your dh hadn't shot himself in the foot, your motherinlaw probably would have killed someone or herself with that gun.

I have a gun story...FIL88 on the farm..of course. He sees a deer in the front yard and gets the shot gun and fires a shot from the dining room through the window..He missed the deer. MIL was in the kitchen. We took the gun away from him as soon as we heard that story. Bad grandpa..

And, with Sandy's story..Guns are dangerous even if you know how to use them..

Oh MK, I want to see that movie.

Funny now Carolyn, prob not funny then!!

Sorry girls about not sharing my toffee recipe but here's a hint, there are very similiar ones on the internet... Just have never shared that one and a few other candy ones that I have, anything else I have always given out recipes. I feel bad and if I decide not to keep working on selling the toffee, I will pass it on, ok?

Breakfast anyone?

Another busy day ahead, I think we all have the next 2-3 weeks packed full, don't we?

I think we are supposed to have warmer weather this week, and it looks like chance of rain off and on all week, not very Christmasy weather, I like it cold and crisp for the holidays.

Need to get some money in the mail to my 2 oldest grandkids today and I am going out shopping tomorrow for more toffee supplies and to get groceries and Oliver a birthday gift. They requested no toys as their little house is full and DD just gave them a bunch of toys that he kids had outgrown so I think I am going to just give them some money towards his bigger car seat and a couple big packs of diapers, those are always needed.

DH had to go back to the VA today for a blood pressure recheck, he takes a fluid pill for it and it is usually fine but last week when he was in it was high so they want to check it again. Hope it is ok.

This must be high BP season! DH is still trying to get his down w/o any meds. He's scheduled for a full day of tests Dec 21. The Dr. said he could try on his own until then and then they'd see how he's doing and if they find any causes in the tests. He's done very well at leaving the salt shaker alone and it has dropped some, so we'll see.

I go to the ortho today. And today, so far, my knee feels much better. It did yesterday morning too but then when we got to church and I started walking in it started in again and lasted until we got home and I could put it up again. It comes and goes like that. That's why I think something is in there moving around. Ugh.

Hi ladies..

Buffy..Well, you know..everything is bigger in Texas, girl..That toffee looks wonderful..You must have to use a candy thermometer, right?

Brett found his passport. He is leaving for Canada tomorrow..10 hours north of Vancouver. Should be quite an adventure for 8 days.

I know two of my friends have recently gone on bp meds, too..Weird, huh?
or just the "age"..

Cookie exchange tomorrow..I will definitely freeze all the cookies and save them for Christmas when other peeps are here.

Yes, let us know what the ortho said..I thought my knees were going out a couple of years ago..When to the ortho, they xrayed..It was just a bad machine for knees at the exercise place...So I avoid that.

Was that machine at Curves???? My other knee was hurt by one at Curves. It had been injured previously and that machine really pushed it right on over the edge. I had to have surgery to get it fixed.

Ortho sent me for an MRI. I was blessed that they'd just had a cancellation so I was able to get it today! So I go back to see the Dr on Wed. morning for the final verdict. He said he feels like it's a torn meniscus; so surgery will probably be in my immediate future. It's minor though so I'm not real worried. I just want it fixed!!

No MK, you misread that. I'm probably looking AT surgery in my IMMEDIATE future. It is minor though. Arthroscopically. My DH had the very first arthroscopic surgery ever performed at this hospital way back in the 80s. I wonder if that will impress anybody when I go, lol. His Dr that did that surgery just retired either this year or last year.

Let me find that dreaded machine for ya..

Do it immediately so that there is no more damage..It's a miracle that you got in and your MRI was right then..

What a week this is! Besides the Drs. appt on Wed morning I have a party tomorrow night, Wednesday night, Friday night and Saturday night and cookie/candy making day Sunday at DD's. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make all those parties with my knee problems. I'm going to really try to make tomorrow night and Saturday night for sure. The rest we'll see how it goes. Falalalala lalalala.

Do what you can, Sandy..

My ortho said no one should ever use that machine because it puts too much strain on your knees..He said if you are bending your knees, your feet should be on something solid to disperse the strain and stress.

Sandy, sorry to hear you are going to have to have surgery but glad you are getting it attended to soon.

The shame of so many of the machines is that people don't use them correctly, if they should be using them at all.

You are very popular Sandy, with all those parties

Carolyn, hope Brett packs lots of warm clothing.

Off to bed, been waking up way early for me. Now, if I can just get to sleep early, that is my problem.

Morning!
Everyone ready for another busy day? I am going to take time to read the paper and drink another cuppa before I begin.

Today is running errands, a little office work, packing toffee to deliver and going to ship 1 container to my cousin to check out sitting up shipping options and then ladies night at the casino.

Looks like it could rain today, hmmmm? Come out Mr. Sun.

Hi gals..

Anxiously praying for wisdom for the doctor for Sandy's evaluation.

On that evil machine..Some ladies do it all the time with no problems, but
I learned my lesson the hard way.

Gosh...Went to a cookie exchange..I ate 4 cookies for my lunch..They were good..really good. So, I decided to serve the rest of the cookies that I exchanged for Christmas dessert. I wrapped each kind of cookie separately
in press and seal and put them in a container in the freezer. I will get some sherbert/ice cream and serve the cookies on the side. DONE.

Need new wipers for my car..We have rain and I have squeaks..Will do that this afternoon and pay my taxes before I forget..

Thank you Carolyn. I too am praying that he and I make the right decision. Of course, it feels some better today. But I'm not actually doing much either so who knows??? I'll see how it does when I go out this evening into the 'real world'. It will be good to see what the MRI actually shows too.

I love cookies!! I sure can't eat just one, I do know that. They're worse than Lays potato chips.

Sandy, yes, a menisectomy will lay you up for awhile. Don't you have a trip in a few months? Don't have surgery any less than 2 months before so plenty of healing time!

Yes, in 1 month and 3 weeks. I'm so torn. I've barely been able to walk for the last week which in itself will be a problem on vacation if that continues. So I don't know whether to go ahead and have the surgery and be at the end of my recuperation while on my trip or roll the dice and hope the pain subsides and put off the surgery. Maybe the MRI results will help that decision. Thanks for your input! I trust your opinion.

Well, good thing our nurse chimed in..If you have the surgery immediately, you will be on the end of the healing. However, if you wait, then walk all over the beach on vacation, it might not be a good thing..

The MRI will tell the tale..

Morning,
Oh Sandy, what a decision!! Hoping for a good MRI.

Stopped by a boutique yesterday to see the owner, have known her and shopped there for a number of years. I wanted to ask her if she would be interested in carrying my toffee through Christmas. She could mark it up. She said, oh, why don't you just come in the next 2 saturdays and set up and sell it for yourself!!! Man, I have a busy 3 days ahead of cooking and packaging and getting samples ready so that I can be ready but a great opportunity!
