Well that was weird...
OK. So, for the last couple of days I've been reading on this forum. I bought the old EFGT kindle book and have been reading that.
Anywho, my husband and I thought we'd give it a try. Yep, Thanksgiving day. LOL. Admittedly, we don't really know what we are doing yet. But I avoided MOST carbs yesterday. And I scraped out the berries of two slices of sugar-free pie and ate the middle of a real slice of pumpkin pie. I ate lots of real whipped cream. Had turkey, ate the gravy on it. Avoided the potatoes, bread, and other starches. So, I was by no means perfect that is for sure. I kept looking over my shoulder for the low-fat police to knock down my door and throw me in jail. I even had half-and-half in my coffee! Woke up this morning and lost a half a .lb and hubby lost 2 .lbs! And my blood sugar number is down. Which is my main goal. What the HECK??!! Trust me, with all of the calories that I ate yesterday on Thanksgiving day I should have GAINED WEIGHT. I was NOT HUNGRY. Which I starve when I am on low-fat diets. ugh. I know I can't build a doctrine on one day but I was convinced I had gained weight and that my blood sugar would be bad because of all that pie. Makes me want to keep going. LOL webwoman |

Oh....I love this story, Webwoman..
LCarbing is the only way to get in control of your blood sugar without meds. And most LCers use fewer meds when they are on plan. I had to get over the Fear of Fat years ago..It takes a while, but it is a very pleasant experience.. |

Thanks CarolynF,
Well, I gotta tell ya that *something* is happening. My blood sugar numbers are going down again today. Yay! And I am just stunned that it's happening and really I've barely started. I am feeling better than I have been. I have been really struggling with my diabetes and BS numbers so anything that makes me feel better than I have been makes me very happy. Congrats on all of your success! Very inspiring! webwoman |

Just starting
It is strange to know I can eat fat. I tried to start this before but chickened out. But I need to do something also for my diabetis. And everything I am reading on here, is getting me excited. That there is hope. Thank you.

Eating Fat
Thank you CarolynF. It is easier to do when you hear other people tell how it is working for them. I do not take meds. Tried they made me sick. So have been doing buy diet and exercise. I have done LC but never the fat. But it even makes more since to do this. So have my first day almost in. Looking forward to tomorrow. |
