Hello! New turkey here :)
Hello to all!
My gynecologist told me I should follow a low carb diet to calm my PMS. I'm new to this way of eating and have a few questions. First, let me introduse my self. I'm 26 years old, 1.58cm and 51kg. I know it's not a lot of weight but I still like to de-puff a little bit and maybe lose 3kg. I tried the Atkins diet. It was interesting. I lost 2kg in the 1st week and then gained 1kg back. I'm stable ever since. I came across your thread a couple of weeks ago. I had never heard aboyt the Eat Fat, Get Thin plan. It looks interesting (and very tasty!) but I'm wondering if it coyld work for me. Should I take calories into consideration too? I'm just afraid that I might be eating too much. Any tips in general would be highly appreciated |

Morning!
New Turkey. Yes, calories do count for most people, even though I didn't get that message much when I read Eat Fat, Get Thin but I think the author just naturally is not a huge eater. But, LC will definitely help you depuff and just feel better in general.Cindy, yes, pictures please. You do some of the neatest traveling. Love Alex's new "hideout" , did he hide and listen in to all the gossip like little kids like to do? ![]() Still haven't packed the few things I need to take to DS's house today. DH's new phone wasn't working correctly and he went by himself to get it replaced, then we had to to to ATT to get it all set up again, took some time out of my day I hadn't planned on. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi gals..
Welcome, Ephoebe..You will love lowcarbing and honestly, calories do "count"..Dr. A. said that we can eat many a couple of hundred more calories than we eat on a regular diet plan..People have overdosed on food and don't lose. Carbs count, too, of course..Avoid grains like the plague, most fruit and no starchy veggies and you should be okay. Try a 1,500 plan and see what happens.. Exercised at the gym..Several of us use the Leslie Sansone walking tape..It is a 4 mile tape with a stretchy band..GREAT for walking inside when it is cold outside. and you are sweating like crazy after it is all over.. Yes, Alex really loves lace tablecloths, so he can "see and not be seen"..One time Brett's prom date came for dinner and he got under her dress..(she was not amused)..LOL |

That's a funny picture Carolyn. I'm sure Brett's date was about to die, lol. But it's still funny!
Buffy, how scary about your DGS having that reaction. I feel for you having to deal with all that. That's where I did put my foot down. I HATE shots, even though I get one every month, but I really HATED shots when I was a kid and an adult until I hit menopause. And my monthly shots are my life now. Anyway, I told all the kids that I was NOT taking grandkids for shots!! I did have to take one of them for a blood test once but she was a teenager by then, so it wasn't too bad. Anyway, I'm glad it all worked out and I'm glad you were still there when he had the reaction. That was a blessing. Cindy, how cool!! Can't wait to see pics. That's great that you do those mission trips. Welcome Ephoebe!! MK, yes, Buffy is right. When your kids start having kids your home will fill up quickly. That's when the real fun begins. Seriously! They're the best.

Oh...I think I had the Door County sinful delight coffee, too..Very nommie..
Church...teaching a SS class for women..no rotten tomatoes thrown, so it was a good thing..LOL..Lunch out, now a tour of the newly renovated highschool..Brett is going with us, I'm sure he will enjoy the changes they made. Gotta get my grocery list of foods for Wichita..I'm bringing a salad, apple pie, SF pumpkin dessert, and "red" apples..(Apples poached in red hots/water/sweetener, after being cut in half and the center scooped out..)..Cool, then you add a plop of Cool Whip with a pecan in the middle..LOL |

Back home from visiting my little Ollie and his Mommy and Daddy, had a great time, can tell he really knows me now and loves me,
like I love him . He is walking all over the place now and loves to get in to things and shows quite a little temper when you try to take something away from him or block him from going somewhere or doing something, so funny to see that in such a little person. Not funny to him of course! ![]() Now that I am going there once a month on average, DDIL and I are going to try to work out a schedule where she can take care of my hair for me, she works at a upscale salon and is a color specialist. She doesn't cut hair so may stick with my current gal for that and let DDIL do the color. She is very good. Not sure if we have any Thanksgiving plans or not, all the kids will either be working or out of town except DD#3 and DSIL and they are thinking of going camping, so it might be a movie day. |

Another busy weekend here. Yesterday was nice so DH cleaned up a bit outside while I cleaned up a bit inside, lol. Then a late lunch and then I had a baby shower to go to last night. I can't believe they had it on a Sat. night but it was one of those "have to go" events. It was my BFF's youngest DD's shower. It was nice. Then today we went to church and then to see J. Edgar. I thought it was pretty good but I do think they took a lot of liberties with the story. I can't imagine how they would've found out all that info about him b/c I'm pretty sure HE wasn't sharing it with anybody! But I know there were a ton of rumors and I think they just wrote them into the storyline like they were factual. So really, who knows? But Leo D. did a great job!!
Dr. in the a.m. for my yearly. Oh joy! I think my weight will be within a pound or two of last years. I somehow have learned how to maintain, more or less. But it's something I have to think about ALL the time. Even when I'm not eating right, I'm very aware, lol. I sure wish I'd figured this out about 40 years ago! |

Hi gals.
Oh, cute little Ollie.. He will have to learn about tempers...LOL..Movie day would be good for Tday with a nice lunch out somewhere or a huge bag of buttered popcorn in the movies.. Sandy: I was wondering about J. Edgar..I'm sure they took lots of liberties and that is what sells movie tickets..Have fun at your yearly..and you are probably his only patient who stays the same on weight. Yup, you are right, it is a 24/7 job as to what goes in our mouths. MK: Glad they didn't kick you out for inappropriate laughing..There was a big line for that movie in our little town.. |

Big line here too - but my daughter and my friend's 2 daughters all worked at the theater at some point in their college summers (It's an independent one) so the owner let us up into the balcony!
The 4 of us were the only ones up there. We had a great time! ![]() Sandy - good luck tomorrow! Mine is Wednesday and i think I'm 6-7lbs heaver than last year!! ![]() |

Morning!
Slept in, even after snoozing in my chair last night, guess little Oliver wore me out more than I realized. Have to watch him like a hawk so I guess it is tiring even though I am not doing any work. Sandy, good luck on your yearly visit and congrats on maintaining, that is a huge accomplishment! Red apples sound good and very pretty Carolyn. MK, I haven't seen any of those movies, kind of like Carolyn. Listening to "The Hunger Games" right now, very good. When DD said she was going to order it on audible I was skeptical but am really liking it. DDIL told me she has read the set and they are all good. Ok, now to get back on schedule around here, whatever that might amount to. |
