Portion control is the key to life.. Moderation in all things..LOL..Unfortunately, it is true..
Yeah for you, Sandy..

Buffy: It will be interesting how dh does with his Iphone..He might pick it right up..Or the kids can help him.

I'm also getting up early with the time change..MKay is always up early in our little group, I think.

Heading for Branson tomorrow at noon..Gotta pack..only 2 days of clothes, so it is easy.

Have fun Carolyn. I think it's supposed to be a bit warmer so you should have a great time. I haven't been to Branson in forever!!!

I took the pooch out to the dog park again today. She's starting to expect it now I think, lol. I also started her on Bil-Jac dog food for a Bzz Agent assignment and wow! She loves that stuff!! She's now on her 2nd bag and she eats all of her dinner as soon as I give it to her. She never does that!!! So it must be pretty tasty to her.

I had Bible study this morning and this afternoon ran to Costco to get their sale items I wanted. $155 later!! I seemed to have gotten more than the sale stuff, lol.

I some more new toys today in the mail. I ordered a car dock and a desk dock for my new phone. I think I'm going to really like them!

I think it will be warmer this weekend..Bring a little coat and a jacket..It's nice when you have the trunk to throw stuff in..

Brett is going on a business trip on Sunday with his boss...He is excited to be in Atlanta again.

Catch ya in the a.m...

Morning,

Have a fun weekend Carolyn.

We have tickets to Willie Nelson tonight and to Ron White tomorrow night.

I need to bake a cake, we are going to see the Triplets on Sunday and there is a certain cake I make that they really like so I said I would bake one for them.

And, we are going to pick up DH's phone today, they didn't have it in stock yesterday.

Oh what cake do the triplets really like, Mema??

We had a demonstration of cake pops or cake balls..Very easy...But not LC, of course.
Baked cake crumbles mixed with canned frosting and formed into balls..Let refrigerate, then dip into melted chocolate/white chocolate and decorated. Very pretty and the pops
can be made very creatively.

My granddaughter made those cake pops for the baby's shower. They actually made lots of "cute" food. Mini Moon Pies, the pops and a few other things I can't remember. It was a Dr. Seuss themed shower and they named all the food cute names from all his books. And they checked out all of his books from the library and used them on the table as part of the centerpiece decos. It was all so cute. I'm just not that clever.

Have fun Carolyn!!

And Buffy, I wish I was with you this weekend. I love Willie and Ron!!

Cake balls are the rage around here, DGS had pirate ones for his birthday. Very cute and yummy.

It is a sourcream, buttermilk white cake with white buttercream icing, but they really like it.

What age should a gal let nature take over and let her hair do it's natural thing? I am sooo tired of the upkeep and expense of keeping my hair colored but don't even know what color it will be if I let it grow out? Wish I could go away for a few months to try it out, LOL. I know it will make me look older but I am 66, so at what point does that really matter? Yet, I don't want it to bring me down, oh, so confusing. My oldest sister let hers go natural after losing it all to cancer and it came back a beautiful silver gray, if I knew I would get that I would be doing it, but I still have a lot of dark in mine and afraid it will look very mousy. eeekeeekeeek

All you can really do is just let it go longer than you normally do between color and see what color it comes in. And please, ask somebody else if it looks gray! Two of my closest friends pay a fortune to get their hair colored and I promise you, you can't tell the difference when they get it done. All that money b/c they think they need it and they won't believe anybody else, lol.

Willie Nelson concert was great, that man is 78 and put on a super concert! Very happy we went.

Trust me, I have a lot of gray. No more question about it, I mentioned to DH "shall I just let my hair go gray??"
DH: "NO, it will make you old"

Not, it will make you look old, he actually said it will make you old,

Looked around tonight at women my age with gray hair, a few were the lucky ones with really pretty silver or white hair, the majority of gray hairs didn't look so good. Guess I am in for the long haul!

Morning,
Another day in our busy weekend, today is the visit to the triplets, that is always fun and it tires us out with 3 the same age talking and wanting our attention at the same time. I got their cake made with sprinkles on the icing so they should like that.

DD#2 got her new Iphone yesterday so we have had fun doing some facetime calls, like using skype on your phones and learning new commands to give to Siri, the voice activated part of the Iphone. She will find all kinds of things to do with it and share them with me.

Went to a Ron White concert last night, he is funny, a little raunchy of course but funny. Put on a good show with new material. Won $20 on the Hee Haw slots at the casino before the show so am rich for the week, LOL.

Have a busy week ahead as I am headed to Austin on Thursday, and hair cut/color before I go so need to get a lot done Mon, Tues and Wed. Taking Grant to his allergy appt. sometime in there, he is so busy now between school, band, sports, friends and spending every other weekend at his dad's that I have to really work to fit into his schedule. I miss him being able to walk here after school like he did in 5th grade and getting to see him several times a week. When we do the allergy shot, then we usually go out to either eat dinner or get a snack before we go home. I really enjoy it and over food is a good time to get caught up with him as he will visit about what all is going on.

DS and DDIL have 2 indoor/outdoor cats and the youngest has been missing for a week now, they are so sad and very worried. He takes off for a day or two but this is the longest, sure hope he comes back. He also is the one that tolerates Ollie playing with him, pulling on his ears, fur, etc. so Ollie has been toddling around looking for him in the house.

We had a wonderful weekend. Today we took our dog on a long walk after church. Then we were going to go see J. Edgar but it was so nice we went and got KFC and went out to the park and just relaxed and had a picnic for about 3 hours. It was very nice, especially for mid-November!! We almost feel like we "got away with something" that's usually not allowed, lolol.

Last night we went to Bonefish for dinner. We love that place. And yesterday we went to Whole Paycheck to pick up a few things with DH's GC that he got for his birthday. Plus I had a $20 for $10 deal, so they only took about half the paycheck this time, lol.

Tomorrow I'm on Dad Duty. He has a Dr. appt. in the a.m. and then who knows????

Hi ladies..

It was fun seeing our dear friends. The dh has been diagnosed with fibrosis in his lungs..He is 67 and extremely active. His wife shared with me, but her dh didn't share with my dh..So, I told him in the car on the way home..You can live 4-5 years with this before you die...Good grief. I'll have to do some internet researching. He doesn't smoke, but did when he was younger..Who knows??

I bought some coffee and a julienne scraper for making noodles out of zukes..
Got some nice long sleeve shirts for dh and ds (for Christmas)..

Buffy: Sounds like a busy time for you..oh..so sad to hear that Ollie's kitty is missing..

Sandy: It was beautiful out, wasn't it? We have to grab these nice days.

I'm back on plan..after eating some Italian bread at Jimmy Carina's in Joplin.

Sounds like we had some great weekend fun.

Sorry to hear that about your friend Carolyn, hard news to handle.

Sandy, your day sounds so great, it was such a beautiful day out. DD#3, DSIL and DGS went camping in OK, DGS got to take his best friend who had never been camping before, they had so much fun. We camped when our kids were little and I have such good memories of that, glad that DGS gets to go as well. DSIL is from Canada and did a lot of camping there so he really knows how to do it all.

Wanted to see the J Edgar movie but just didn't have time to work that in.

Today I am taking DGS to get his allergy shot so that I get to see him for awhile, we will go grab some dinner before I take him home. I will get to hear all about the camping trip.

Thursday a hair cut/color and then off to see Ollie, gee, what would I do with all my time if I didn't have my grand kiddies???

Going to WWagon the 2 new teachers at the Lutheran School. They have become best friends since they moved here and that is a good thing..

Sorry about your friend Carolyn. I have a cousin who has mesotheloma. He was a heavy smoker and was a pipe fitter so was around a lot of asbestos back in the old days. He's already outlived the Drs. estimate. He's also very stubborn! He did finally quit smoking just about a year ago. Kind of like my mom, they quit when they just can't physically do it anymore. His symptoms are an awful lot like my mom's emphysema and heart problems. Not a pleasant thing to have or to watch your loved one go through.

Buffy, grandkids are the best!! I feel so sorry for all the g-parents and kiddos who don't get to even know each other in this day and age. We are blessed to have ours close enough to spoil them. I'm feeling a bit shorted right now though, as I didn't see the baby at all this weekend since they went out of town.

Morning!
I love coming on here each day, you gals just raise my happiness level

Carolyn, glad to hear your grandcat is warming up to you, . DD#3 and her family got a new kitten last year, I kept him for 2 weeks right after they got him but he still acts like he barely knows me , can be very aloof! But, last night, after taking DGS for his allergy shot, we went and had catfish and we took some home for Tuffy, he did enjoy that treat I brought him and so now I am hoping for some from him when I visit,

You mentioned that Alex likes to sit on the dining room table if you have a tablecloth on it, well, I decided I was right in style the other day when I saw a picture in a decorating magazine and the runner on the table was all squished up, heck, mine is always that way from a cat skidding on it and it makes its mad dash through the dining room as it runs from another of the cats,

Had quite an evening last night. Took Grant to get his monthly allergy maintainence shots. His dosage is high now and so he gets one shot in each arm and they do hurt, so he dreads them and he can't get the hang of relaxing his arms as he dreads them so much. So, we get there and he starts giving me a really hard time about getting his shots, we were a little late and he tried to convince me he would have to come back another day. Then he told me that last time it messed up his arm so bad that it hurt his pitching at his baseball game, he actually started crying in the waiting room and really giving me a hard time. Remember, he has Asperger's so not always so conscious of what other's think. So, we called his mom and I had her talk to him a while, he finally gave in. You have to wait a full 30 minutes after to make sure no reactions and at about 25 minutes I noticed he started scratching his head, his ears were getting red. They called us in and I pointed that out, then we looked and hives were starting. Nurse came quickly and ordered an Epi pen and then he got hysterical, did not want the epi pen at all, although he had never had one. We had to hold him down to give him the shot. Finally got him calmed down and come to find out, another child with asthma had told him a horror story about getting epi shots, so he was scared to death. All ended well and we went and had dinner and then on home to tell his parents about his adventure. First time he had had that severe of a reaction, I was sure glad it happened there in the office.

Sandy, yes, grandkids are the best. They make up such a major part of my life now, I don't know what I would do without them. Carolyn and MK, you will have them one day and will dote on them as we do. And MK, just wait, with 4 kids, you will a houseful of little ones before you know it. I only had 2 for a while, then 3 for several more years and then they started coming along here and there until now there are 12.
