Yes, Buffy..I'm anxious to hear how the Iowa gal is doing in the big city..

Dh is supposed to clean the filter out of the dishwasher.

I sprung $40 and bought some beautiful mums for the front porch in the 4 baskets I used for my geraniums..I know if I plant them they might come up again, but our soil is so BAD..Not like Iowa.

Had a wonderful time with DN. She has received and accepted an offer for full time employment from her current internship so we really had something to celebrate over lunch. She loves Dallas and loves living in a larger city. We had lunch at Neiman Marcus and then went to browse the beauty counters and she booked a makeup appt. with one of the gals for tomorrow, also got some perfume samples and just had fun looking around, also went to apple to look at the new 4S phone. Can't wait to get it, although by ordering it ahead of time, now I have to wait for it to be shipped and unlike their releases in the past, it seems they have plenty on hand this time and people were getting them today and walking out with them. Too late for me since I already ordered it so now I have to wait, hmph!!!

Wow Carolyn, you are so right, I had the prettiest flower beds in Iowa, I can't grow a weed in TX, well, wait, that is the only thing I can grow here. It can be done but you need to really work at it, in Iowa I just planted them and enjoyed them.

Day 2 in Chicago!

Went to Lucky's Sandwich Co. for lunch.
It was featured in Man V Food Chicago Lucky's Sandwich Company

The sandwich I had was blocked off the board - called The Fredo. It's Ham, Salami, Capicola, and Swiss Cheese. Watch the video - they actually put the french fries, cole slaw, and tomato on the French bread with the meat and cheese. It's amazing!

I bought El passes for everyone, so we took it to Millennium Park - it's downtown near Michigan Ave. Wandered around there for a while and then split up and went shopping.

This evening we went for coffee at Metropolis Coffee Co and then to the Loyola Soccer Park for a tailgate and game.

I'm tired!!

DS22 and his GF came down from WI to spend the day with us and they just left to drive back.

Tomorrow should be fun too!

Hi gals..

Church, lunch out and a tour of the new renovated middle school..Outside looks the same, but the inside is great..very updated for an old school built in 1920..Brett enjoyed seeing his "old" new classrooms and a few teachers he had.

Nice weather here....

I'm back! Whew! That's too big a trip for a one day period!! We left home at 10 a.m. yesterday and got home at 2:45 p.m. today. But we had fun. Didn't get to bed until 1:30 this a.m. and then woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep. Grrrr. I hate that.
I drove most of the way home and now we're going to mass at 5. then I just might go to bed!!
Massage in the a.m. and then I'm going to shop for a new phone. I think the new Samsung Galaxy but I'll check out the iphone while I'm there too. Who knows what I'll end up with.

Today we went to Mass at Madonna Della Strada Chapel, had lunch at Pete's Pizzeria and Bakehouse, dropped DS19 back at his dorm and headed for The Promenade Bolingbrook. DSW and I are becoming best friends.

Back to reality tomorrow!

Sandy: Did you go to Tulsa or OKCity? It is a long way from your place to OK no matter how you slice it..Glad you are getting a massage...We are going to the KU/KSU game next Saturday.. I hope it is warm, but probably not..Then we are getting Brett some more business casual pants for work at Kohls or Penney's..Maybe eat at the Greek restaurant, too..LOL

MKay: How fun, DSW is a great store and Chicago has some great malls..

Oh Sandy, do check out the new Iphone 4S if your plan carries it, you can use voice technology to send both texts and email, will be great for those who try to do either while driving, all teens need this!!! And, it is supposed to have a great camera too.

Yes, DSW is a great show store.

Ended up just doing things here at home yesterday, didn't go to a movie after all. Moneyball is on my radar, supposed to really be good.

Sounds like everyone will be back home this week. Where is our Cindy?

Carolyn, DH's brother bought the family farm and finished restoring the country school house that is on the property, his DM had started it some years back.

I'm looking at the iPhone too Buffy. I have Vlingo on my BBerry which does the same thing, but rarely use it. I also have GoogleTalk which does that. Neither really impress me much. I hate buying new phones!! So many things to compare it gives me a headache, lol.

My family and I use our phones all the time too. I had to keep up with their technology or get left behind, lol.

The most interesting place we ate at in Tulsa was at a food truck!! After the reception we walked over and got a couple of tacos. They were great too. Just like off the streets of Mexico!! We saw some other trucks too but ran out of time. I think we're going to go downtown for "First Fridays" in Nov. and cruise our local food trucks.

I can't wait to go to Kohl's on Saturday in Lawrence after the game..Although, our town has a Goody's..Whoppee..Grand opening is tomorrow morning..

I met a friend on the spur of the moment for lunch after going up to put my dad's plant inside. It's cold!! Then I went to Walmart and bought the baby a new little booster/high chair combo thingy. We're having him overnight Saturday night and I needed a high chair. This one folds so you can actually take it places with you. I hope I like it. I also got him a winter coat today. I'm afraid he's going to need that sooner rather than later, grrr.

Then I came home and moved my FR furniture around so I could add the rocking chair from the LR so I can put the baby's pack n' play in there for Sat. night. DH is having carpal tunnel surgery Friday a.m. and I'm afraid he might be up and about in the middle of the night. And I sure don't want him waking the baby up!! He's not a very quiet person anyway, so I'm trying to plan ahead.

He doesn't know it yet, but I think we're going for taco night now. I was going to make a pork roast but it just got moved to tomorrow, heehee.

Then I came home and moved my FR furniture around so I could add the rocking chair from the LR so I can put the baby's pack n' play in there for Sat. night. DH is having carpal tunnel surgery Friday a.m. and I'm afraid he might be up and about in the middle of the night. And I sure don't want him waking the baby up!! He's not a very quiet person anyway, so I'm trying to plan ahead. He doesn't know it yet, but I think we're going for taco night now. I was going to make a pork roast but it just got moved to tomorrow, heehee.
