Having fun!

We had lunch yesterday with DS19 in Chicago and dinner with DS22 in Milwaukee.

DD24 was cast in Evita as the "mistress" for a community theater production in Aspen.
She's very excited!!

Tonight we're in Door County with gorgeous weather and a great hotel.
Can't wait for tomorrow!

Morning!
Rested up, now back to my routine. House is a mess, must get things picked up and put away, again, and do laundry. Then attack the office and mail, etc.

MK, your trip sounds great and congrats to DD on her new role. I think I see a trip to Aspen in your future plans.....

Have a fairly open week ahead until Friday when I have a hair appt. and Friday night DH and I have tickets to go see Franki Valli, music from our youth!

Lost a lb this past week, give all the credit to my dear DDIL, she has nothing but healthy, organic food in their home, so Oliver and I ate a lot of fruit, yougurt and no junk food while I was there.

Hi ladies..

Oh..I loved Evita..Years ago we saw the play in Chicago..What a fun part for your dd, MKay..Yes, of course you have to see her in it..

Sandy: Good for you...Weekends can be devastating, as we all know..

Buffy: I love Franki Valli..all the good songs. I always wanted to see the musical Jersey Boys..the story of the 4 seasons..but haven't yet. You and Ollie were really good..No junk food..Hurray for a pound loss.

I was at 154 today....Chisel, chisel, chisel.

Busy day!

Breakfast at the Village Cafe. OMG - the breakfast potatoes and the cherry jam - heavenly!

Walked over 7 miles on trails and around towns like Egg Harbor and Fish Creek! We also went to Newport State Park and Peninsula State Park.

Did a little shopping, lots of eating . . . . (the cherry pie at the White Gull Inn was amazing!!)

Buffy - after this trip I'll need to visit with you to eat better!

Carolyn - I wish I COULD go see her in the play . . . . wonder how much that plane ticket is . . . .?

...you would probably have to rent a car once you get to Denver, right?

Lucky you at Door County and I'm sure the kids are all back in school, so the traffic will be light..We did all those things, too..Not as much walking as you, though..Cherries are very popular there..

Morning,
MK, you made me hungry when I read your post yesterday, cherry pie is one of my very favorite desserts.
You can fly into Aspen, or, into Denver and rent a car. DD and DSIL go there once or twice a year from Dallas and this last time flew into Aspen. What's more, it is such an awesome place to be in the summer.

After a few cooler days, we are over 100 again but it doesn't seem so bad since we had a little break and it is only supposed to last a few days, then cool off again, and, maybe a chance of rain this weekend.

Dinner club tomorrow night, going to a nice Italian place where we can sit on the patio if it isn't too hot.

Loved the kitty video Carolyn, very cute.

I loved Jersey Boys, catch it when you can, very good.

Need to schedule a pedicure tomorrow before I go to dinner and run a few errands, will try to get my list organized today so I can do it quickly tomorrow.

Yes...our hot weather is back again, like Dallas...Oh well..Yes, we might get some rain, too. Farmers would be happy.

Back to 153..Hmmm..I think I ate when I was hungry..that is a novel idea for me. Late lunch and late dinner..Who knows??? LOL.

Bible Study this afternoon..Then a reception for a man in our town who started a boxing/tutoring club for needy kids. Brett helps him from time to time.

Hi gals..

A little rain is nice..My little tomatoes are smiling through their greenness.

Had lunch with dd's motherinlaw..It was fun..Her birthday was 9/11..poor kid.

Hey, I was 153 this morning. Hmmm..I think it was because I haven't eaten big meals at night..Gosh, darn it..I like my larger dinner, but Barry says that can be a problem...

Carolyn, of course I had to race over to google the Outlast cooling mattress pad as I had never heard of it and I too, get hot at night, not as bad as when I had those horrible night hot flashes but still too warm at times, on with the covers, off with the covers, you know the drill.

Well, looks very interesting, you will have to share your opinion on it after you get it but this statement left me

"When you’re warm, Outlast® technology works to keep your body from breaking a sweat as rapidly as if you were using products without Outlast® technology."

I think I understand it, but it sure was worded in a confusing way

Anxious to hear how you like it. I just bought 2 new perfect sleeper side sleeper pillows at Kohl's today. Regular price $69.99, sale price $27.99 and I had the scratch off coupon for an additional 30% off, so quite a bargain. I do like these pillows and will take the one I have down to Oliver's house and leave it there so Mema will have it when she goes to visit.

Morning,

Yesterday was fun and so relaxing. Had a great pedi and had nails repainted to match, so relaxing and then on to do just a little shopping before I met the gals for dinner club. Just needed some things at Walgreen's and Ulta, then went to Chico's to find a pair or earrings to match a necklace and bracelet I was wearing, and, success, found just the right pair and, had a coupon. Love Chicos.

We had dinner at a local, very good Italian restaurant, 6 out of our 9 made it and as always we just had the best time. These gals have been in my live for at least 20 years now and they are great gals. We made plans for our get together in December, last year we went to an exclusive part of Dallas where they have sleigh rides to go around the neighborhoods and see the Christmas lights and we did that and want to go again this year. One of our gals had just put her 18 yo son on a plane to Australia where he is going on a 6 month mission trip, so she was very emotional and proud of course. He decided to put off college for a year to do this and we are all proud of him. Will be quite an adventure. Great night.

Back to office work today. Of course I already have 1 cat on the desk to help, before long there will be another one or two, so I have to try to pry my paperwork out from under them and work around them, they refuse to see this as a problem????

Hi ladies..

Buffy: I can't wait to get my mattress pad..It is supposed to come on Saturday.. Will let you know. I get hot about 2, then move to my son's room and sleep in his bed..Dh doesn't even know I am gone, but the cat can find me..

Oh..your restaurant dinner sounded wonderful..How exciting for your friend's son..It's a good thing when kids explore the world.

I was 152 this morning..Don't ask me why. I'm taking 75 Ketos, so that might be it.

Hope everyone is doing okay...

Then DH called for a lunch date . . . .

I'll never get anything done at home at this rate!

Carolyn - yay!!! Great weight loss!!
(am I the only one that wonders why the smilie has crossed eyes?! )
Can't wait to hear about the pad too!

DH travels around here at night. Sometimes he just starts off in DD's room and saves the miles!

Buffy - I need some of your Texas weather! It's a high of 6°4 today - and I'm cold!

WTG at 152 Carolyn!

MK, it has cooled off here, low 90's and feels good.

The older I get, the faster the day goes by and the less I get done, I piddle around a LOT

We went to the grocery store too, they had the Nolan Ryan all natural beef ribeyes on special and they are soooo good, we bought some for the freezer. One of them is enough for DH and I for a dinner, so we have them wrapped individually and pop them in the freezer when we get home.

Welcome to the piddling club, Buffy..I'm a professional..

It is 59 here..It is great..

Made a chuck roast in the crockpot for dinner. I threw in a can of cream of chicken soup with a bit of water and now I have nice brown gravy..It was like magic.

Oh, your roast sounds great Carolyn, I just picked up an onion, carrots and I have potatoes to add to a roast in the crockpot, do you think the C of Chicken soup would go well with all of those?

Glad to know I am around such good and experienced piddlers, great way to just wander around and enjoy things at our leisure.

Yes, yes, did you find a snore cure?

Wow, we have some new smilies, cute!

Last night I went to bed early b/c I kept falling asleep in my chair, then of course got to bed and could not get to sleep for about 2 hours, then I did, but woke up at 3:30, geez!

Buffy - that happens to me too!
I'm awake when I finally get to bed!

I think cream of chicken soup goes with everything!

Today is haircut, errands, teeth cleaning, and then house cleaning.
DS22 and his GF will be here in 2 weeks - he just told me last night!
So I HAVE to quit procrastinating!

Good motivation.

Some GFs wanted me to meet them to dinner - but I'm going to say no.
DH and I are going out with other friends tomorrow night and then I'm going to see the SJP movie with another friend on Sunday, so I need some "alone" time.
If I'm lucky DH will go to the HS football game and I can watch taped shows!

I need to finish the Summer Season before the Fall starts!

Morning,
MK, once I get out and run errands, I am useless as far as coming home and getting started on anything at home, or at least I use that as an excuse. I really haven't gotten much done all week here.

I am glad the fall season on TV is finally starting, everyone post any new shows they watch and like, I need to start setting them up to tape so I have things to watch when I go to bed and can't get to sleep.

SJP was on the View this morning, I really do like her and the movie looks so good.

Hi gals..

Just got home from piddling around..No, Dianne and I actually did a WWagon call on a lady (81) and her 91 year old bf..She was cute....

No cure for dh's snoring.. I just go in the other room but I notice it's worse when he is overtired..

I like my own tv shows, too..Dh watches his shows on the other tv..At least 2 tvs is a must for a happy household..

Brett is taking his gf to the Kansas State Fair tomorrow..I hope it doesn't rain on them...State Fairs are fun...

MK: Just get on your Flylady costume for the cleaning project and fly around the house.

KCity peeps..Beth works at the Henry Bloch School of Business and Henry just gave the college $32 million..to build a new building..Beth has worked with Henry many times and she says he is a very nice humble man of 89.
