My little Oliver after a fun, busy trip to the farm in Iowa, he was tuckered out.

Look at Oliver's little fluffy hair..so cute.

Anyone's husband use handkerchiefs? I buy them, and they disappear..So, off to WalMart I go. Gary is coming home tonight late..and heading for Poland at noon tomorrow..I hope he doesn't fly over the hurricane..He is flying from Dallas.

Eureka.. I checked in Gary's pants that were hanging in the closet and found 6 handkerchiefs..LOL..Now to wash and dry them..LOLOL.

Morning!

This month instead of going out to dinner, my dinner club met at one members house, we did pot luck and then played a game called Poker Keno, took prizes for a type of chinese gift exchange and just had a blast, laughter is so good for the soul. And, since it was a Friday night, we stayed up late, whoo hoo.

Not sure what all is on the schedule for this weekend.

My DH uses handkerchiefs Carolyn, but I can't remember the last time I bought some, it was for a Christmas gift one year, a big package if I remember. Once upon a time I used to iron them. Now, they just get folded but he also doesn't have to dress up for work, that would make a difference.

Kroger's across town has these beautiful rib eye steaks on sale, just asked DH is he wanted to take a drive over there this afternoon to pick some up, so guess that is what we will do today. Will make my list.

A friend of mine has lots of family in SC and NC. This is the friend I'm going to Isle of Palms with in Oct. I hope the condo we're staying in is still there in October. I can't believe how major this storm is!! And right after the surprise earthquake out there too. Scary!!

My hubby used handkerchiefs too. He never loses them though, lol. Some of them are very thin now!!

Carolyn - I use the regular ones that come out of the freezer dispenser. I didn't know they recommended something else!
And yes, sometimes there's ice bits in it! Now I know why!

Definitely TMI! But good to know they have backs!

Sandy - have you checked? Is it still there?

Cindy - so cute!! And so fluffy!!

Hi gals..

Beautifully warm day in KS..too hot again.. Well, we don't have a hurricane..

It looks like my brothers had rain, rain, rain, so I need to give them a shout. One brother lives up on a big hill, so no flooding, the other one is okay, I'm sure. Looks like Vermont is getting pelted, though.

Yes, MK..The ones will the holes in them do crush up better..Hey, wait McDonalds sells ice for $1.00, so I bet they have the right ice cubes.

Heading to KCity next Saturday/Sunday to see our dd and her dh and the unfriendly grandcat..We will see Gary's 93 year old Auntie on the way home..(she lives near Sandy)..

I haven't checked on the condo yet. I guess I should? I really don't know how to though. The friend who handled everything is OOT right now. I'm sure she'll stay on top of it. She's the one with family on the east coast too so I'm sure she's getting regular updates.

DH and I took about a 6 mile bike ride today. Let me tell you, the beach cruiser bikes are WAY easier than our geared bikes here at home. And I made sure we avoided as many hills and grades as possible. It was quite an aerobic workout for both of us and we are whipped!! I'd rather ride on the ocean boardwalk, lolol.

Tomorrow is oldest DGS's 26th birthday. Amazing how that time has flown by! And I'll have his baby again this week. And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on. As they say/sang. Lol.

We're going to the KC Irish Fest next weekend. If it's not raining. Some friends of ours always come down from Iowa and we meet up for the festivities. Always a good time. And I think one day we're going to the lake for one last hurrah of the season. Only 3 weeks from yesterday until the wedding!!

Hi..

Where is the KC Irish Fest? Sandy??? We will be in KC next weekend..Good for you riding the bikes..Did you go on a bike path?

Happy bday to you dgs..and have fun with the baby.

Friend in Salem, NH was fine..Just lots of rain and some wind..and my coastal Maine friend was fine, too..I think Irene lost some of her punch.

The Irish Fest is at Crown Center all weekend long with the best music night being Sunday night with the Elders headlining. We love them!!

We went on a little bit of road to get to the bike path and then mostly the path until we had to head home. We came home a different way than we went so were able to ride on the sidewalk instead of the road. I bet we sleep good tonight. Especially since we soaked in the hot tub earlier. I sure hope I hear that alarm in the a.m. Lol.

Morning,
My weekend was pretty uneventful, I just stayed home yesterday and watched several movies, very relaxing.

They say our heat wave is supposed to break towards the end of the week, yay. It is about time and should be downhill from now on, we will still have hot days but cooler ones in between. I am so ready for that.

Glad your family members and friends on the east coast were safe, thankfully it wasn't a stronger hurricane.

Hi gang,

Scale didn't like me..155..I had a tiny piece of birthday cake last night and it all went to my hips or thighs..LOL

Thanks for the information about the Irish Festival..I'm sure we will wander down with the kids..We will be gone Sunday night, though..Bike paths are the best, I think..We don't have any around here, so it is scary riding, plus dh sold my bike..or gave it away.

Buffy: Yup, it is another hot day here.. Looking forward to some decent weather..The kids are going back to school tomorrow..so the buses will be running..
