Morning,
Oh wow MK, thoughts and prayers coming your way! That reminds me of the week our work truck was stolen from the motel while we were working in Tulsa, DH flew home to pick up an old truck that we thankfully had kept, DD called to say she wrecked her car, I told her to come and get my car from the garage, came home and I borrowed DS's car to run errands and totalled it. All within one week! Holy Moley!

Much quieter week around here this week, thank heavens.

Carolyn, I went to get hair cut/color yesterday and told hairdresser that I wa bored, so we decided to do an all over blonde with some brown low lights in what she called a starburst pattern, whoo hoo. Well, the all over blonde came out light brown???? So, she had to go back in and put a bunch of blonde highlights in it, so I kind of look like a striped kitty right now and the base is much darker than I would have liked but I can live with it, and might even grow rather fond of it. At least I am no longer bored by it,

Sandy, I haven't seen any of the Ape movies, do you suggest I rent the originals or could I get by just going to see this one?

Cindy, I forgot to tell you I think that I love your yard and flowers, you and my older sis would have a heyday with comparing yards and flowers and plants. Both yards are beautiful.

Stopped at the store last evening and picked up fresh corn, watermelon, peaches and bing cherries, they all looked so good. Need some steak to throw on the grill tonight but we are all out, have to look over the ads to see if there is some on sale this week.

Hi ladies..

Oh, dear, Mary Kay..Will definitely pray that everything will work out for your ds and his traffic accident..Thanking God he is okay, though. Your poor dd24..4 years is a long time to date, then break up..

Buffy: Holy smokes on the hair color..You never know what will turn out..
Your dh will think he has a new wife..

I'm not going to eat popcorn in the movies..Repeat that 100 times.. It is
a 4:20 movie, which is a very dangerous time for me to "want" something.

On the Apes, the old ones are probably not as technically sophisticated as this new one..The old ones were guys in ape suits..but the stories were good.
I would rent the old ones for fun..

Poor dh...he has an Ipad that is giving him fits..He got Ipad for Dummies and
he is still stuck. We have to hire a friend of our kids to help out. Ds doesn't have an Ipad, so he can't help him out..

Eekk..still 154..

MK, I will be praying for you and your family. Wow!! That's a lot of stress lady! Thank God nobody was hurt. Except maybe the ex-boyfriend. But better now than later, you know?

Buffy, I'd love to see a pic of your hair color. I went blonde for a very short time the year I was 50 and my DD doesn't even remember it!!! Her DD, my DGD, does. I guess DD blocked it out, lolol. It was actually an accident so I just kept it for a little while. The root problem was too much for me to keep up with since my natural hair is very dark brown. I know it shocked a lot of people!

DGD's boyfriend bought her an iPad!!She's loving it. She showed it to me yesterday and it pretty much looks like just a computer??? That you use your finger to navigate with. DH has one at his job but he hasn't brought it home yet. I think he knows I'll want to play with it, lol.

Here is the result of Misti and I playing with my hair color yesterday. Starburst high or low lights.

Hi.

Oh..Buffy, I like this..but I know this is rather "dark" for you since you were always a blonde. I do like it, though.

Sandy: You were a blonde?? Wowo..Brave person that you are. I put a bunch of streaks in my hair in the past..

Poor dh is not very techno literate. He needs to be shown what to do with anything other than his cell phone.

Sandy, my hair was also very dark brown as an adult. As I started graying it I colored it dark for years and then started getting blonde highlights or back then they called it "getting your hair frosted", LOL. I changed hairdressers and she kept adding more and more blonde until I finally ended up with almost platinum hair, which wasn't good but then went to pretty much blonde all over and then blonde with lowlights. The gal I have now is the best I have had at getting a more natural color for me but still staying on the blonder side. Most people either didn't know me as a brunette now or can't remember when it was that way except when I go back to the midwest where I grow up and some people there tell me they can't get used to it to a few who just outright tell me they don't LIKE it, haha. Now the dark even looks foreign to me. 2 of my 3 daughters are naturally blonde so I fit in just fine with them.

Buffy, I like it! I like a streaky! I bet after a couple of washes that brown will lighten up. Did she use a semi permanent or permanent color? I get a "permanent" color but it washes out of my gray pretty easily.

Hi kids.

Boy, you had alot of hair back in the day, Buffy.. I think we all had alot of hair thanks to the permanents..

Love your kitteh pictures...They missed you, I'm sure..

Planet of the Apes was great...It's all about the monkeys..lots of monkey scenes..or ape scenes. Now, I understand why the apes took over the planet..

Oh Buffy, that's so pretty!! I went thru the highlighting season here too but I got tired of spending all that time in a hair salon, lol. So that's when I started coloring it myself. Maybe after all my "events" are over I'll start up again and that way I can slowly lighten my color without doing it all at once. I also want to get it cut shorter when everything is over. I'll probably do that in stages as well. I don't do drastic change very well.

I still have very thick and coarse hair. Which can be a real pain but I'd rather have a lot of it then not enough I guess. It's Indian hair for sure!!

Morning,

both my brother and my older sister's hair turned a really pretty silver which I liked but so far, mine still has a lot of non-gray in it, enough that it isn't pretty or I might just let it go natural, I also get tired of all the time and expense of upkeep.

I kind of miss those days of the perms, they gave my very fine straight hair a lot of body.

Just another hot hot day here in Dallas, this has been a loser of a summer, LOL.

Egad..Dianne and I worked all day with calls, etc..I'm exhausted. Don't know how peeps
work all day long..I was going to fix dinner for ds and dh, but I think we can go out..

Court went wonderfully.
It's DSnow19's Bday!

I've planted new flowers in the front pots and I'm baking sugar cookies for his birthday.
Maybe life can get back to some semblance of normal!

I'm so glad his court ordeal went well. Thank you Lord!

I was down again this a.m. 150.4! I'm happy with that; not happy that I have to face all those weekend temptations now.

Morning,
The constant battle of trying not to eat and especially popcorn at the movies, what's a movie without it????

Glad the court date went well MK and Happy Birthday to your "little" one

I went to a VIP event at the Casino last night and we were treated to a Filet Mignon dinner and all of us won a Kindle, I am so excited.

Sandy, you are being a GREAT great Grandma with all your babysitting.

I agree Carolyn, don't know how I used to work all day long 5-6 days a week and people my age and older are still at it.

Hi Cindy

Well, 150 was yesterday.....today I'm up a few. Too much fun, so back on track now.

How fun for Brett. That's pretty cool!

We went to see Cowboys & Aliens. Surprisingly pretty good! At least it was original.

MK, I'll be praying for you this week.

Hi..

Oh..MKay..Have you taken the architectural tour of Chicago on the boats?? That is the best tour ever, ever, ever.. Alot of our moms and dads have sent their babies off to college...Some tears, and not knowing how much to call them.

I'm back on track, too..Think I will thaw some pork chops for the grill tomorrow night.

Morning,

Carolyn, hope I can remember that tour if I go to Chicago again, that sounds great.

Will be interesting MK to see how it goes with your empty nest, will be an adjustment for sure. Same for my oldest DD, this will be her first year as well, DGS moved into dorm last week. She has a very demanding job so her time will be filled but I know she will miss him.

Office work today and tomorrow going to DD#2 to see Bobby and Ava and DD and I are going to go to the movie Sarah's Key. Little Bobby is starting preschool on Wed. and I wanted to hear all about it before he starts and then after. He went there for camp for a week this summer and loved it. Ava and her mommy are going to attend Mommy and Me classes once a week as well.

I hate to wish time away but am so ready for this heat to be over. Sept. just has to be a better month to get out and enjoy things.

Better get busy.......

I saw Sarah's Key today with a friend. It was wonderful!! Mostly sub-titled, but a great movie. I've not read the book but my friend had. She loved it as well. Even better than the book she said, which I always think is unusual.

Hi ladies..

Sarah's Key looks great..Are they speaking German or Hebrew?

Did a WW call on a lady who bought a beautiful home in the country..But, she is very lonely here..Of course, she hasn't gotten out and about much, so I encouraged her to
join the Quilt Guild, etc..It takes a while to adjust to a new place...They moved from Omaha..where there are stores everywhere..LOL.

Was 154 today..Where is the chisel???
