My dh is so happy that ds gets to travel, etc..and actually "see" their dryers (big giant ones) in factories..It is a great thing.

New restaurant in town..Big news for our town. I guess it is really good..The 4 of us
will go at 5, then Brett wants to take Rachel up to the farm..LOL..Gary's parents..who are gone.

MK: Hmmm..maybe there is something in there that your tummy doesn't like..

Carolyn - what's your new restaurant?

And maybe . . . but I got the vegetarian kind, because I didn't see any bad stuff in there.

Anyone read Room by Emma Donoghue??

Our restaurant is called Vintage Steak House..I got ribs and they were very good..Ds said his steak was good..My friend says the desserts are heavenly, but I won't try them until I split it 7 ways..

Oh..Honky Tonk Angels sounds great.

We went to the Coffeyville Rodeo tonight after dinner..I do like one rodeo a year..The animals are beautiful and the clown was sooooo funny..Favorite joke: What do you call

Morning!
Good to be back from our road trip, it was tiring and I have to say that Savannah was such a let down after having been to Charleston, not that it didn't have a lot of history, it certainly did and I am glad we went but I was expecting the beauty we saw in Charleston. The job we were on went fine and weather was pretty good. Glad to be back though, that was a lot of driving in 5 days.

While gone I went to see The Help, loved, loved, loved it and had also read the book. Since I was a young housewife in the late 1960's, it made it even better, the clothing, etc.

Sounds like you all have been busy. August is a busy month for almost everyone, seems like we all kind of reset our schedules in august, some getting ready for school, some just the end of summer type activities and getting ready for fall. I am certainly ready for fall weather.

DD#2 and her family went to CA to go to the beach and to Disneyland. Bobby and Ava loved playing on the beach, DD said they played, and played and played. Now today they are off to see where Mickey "really" lives.

Sandy, Ollie started the army crawl at around 5 1/2 months, crawling by 6 1/2 and now at almost 8 months he stands and walks around anything he can hold on to. I kind of think he will walk on his own at 9 months, that is early but one of my kids did.

DGS11 starts back to school next week, 7th grade, it just doesn't seem possible. He made honor band and has lots of activities this fall so he will be a very busy boy. I told him to try to work in one night to stay the night at Mema's before school starts if possible.

Will have 2 in college this fall, DGD in her second year and DGS in his first, both in Nebraska but different collegs.

Went to a highly advertised restaurant on Tybee Island in hopes of fresh seafood, but although it was good, the waiter said it was frozen, not fresh. Bummed.

Well, not to catch up again, always that to contend with when you are away.

Hi ladies..

Sandy, I gained the weight you lost... I am doing lower calories one day and my regular calories the next day...up and down to try to shake the fat off this body..Today is a low day..maybe 700 calories..So far, so good..

MKay..One more week with ds, huh??? Make it a good one..

It is so weird having Brett in town..He walked into dh's office this morning on his way back from Personnel..They spelled his name wrong on his check..LOL..not good..

Had a funeral today..Honestly, it was a 10 minute funeral and we went to the cemetery and the whole thing was done in 45 minutes..Our regular pastor left and so they had an older pastor who did the service..Dh took me out for a salad..I had no dressing to keep the calories down.

Buffy: Holy smokes..I have heard Charleston is really beautiful. Jimmy Moore and his wife went there for a few days after she miscarried their baby..

Laundry time... I do Brett's for him and iron his shirts/pants..I want him to look presentable at work..and I don't mind doing it.

Yes, Mouse Ears is about 8" tall and Mighty Mouse, while being a fairly slow grower, will get to 11". They belong to a group of hostas defined as "mini" and there are a ton. Blue Mouse Ears are nice plants from Suburban up on 7hwy and 95th (Prairie Star Parkway, the first exit from K10 on 7) and the big Suburban in Martin City also has them. I just got them about a week ago. Little Mighty Mouse was mail order. The Martin City Suburban also had another mini, whose name escapes me, that I bought 3 of.

Morning,
Slept late, left over tiredness from our trip and of course the 3 lap cats all were on the bed holding me down so I didn't float up and out of bed I guess. Lion is the only one who does not like to be held or snuggle, although he walks by for a nice pet and rubs our legs to let us know he cares.

Carolyn you are such a good mother to not only do the laundry but to iron as well. DH sends all his shirts out for which I am thankful! I like to do laundry but hate to iron.

DD has been back at work at school since the first of Aug., as a principal, she goes back early of course. My teacher friends are going back soon if they are not already going in to prepare, our schools start on Monday.

Even though the summer has been beastly hot this year, it has flown by. Hasn't really seemed like much of a summer b/c it was just so darn hot that nobody really got out much. Fall will be much more enjoyable I am thinking.

Listening to Pillars of the Earth now and loving it.

LOL...I love your bedcats..Alex sleeps at my feet about half way through the night, hoping I will get up and feed him..Doesn't want to miss a trick..

Had a nice lunch with our teacher friend..She is sitting through lots of boring meetings today..I think they are teaching them to use the smart boards..

Well, I don't have a problem doing the laundry..I was the one who offered and think it is fine.....He would never ask..

I went to see The Help today. Loved it!! As did everybody in the group; even those who hadn't read the book. Then DD came over and colored my hair!! Afterwards she even straightened it for me. I feel spoiled. It was a nice treat, although I think it's a tad dark. It will fade before the wedding though so I'm not real worried.

Morning
Hair cut/color on the schedule for today, last time she just did a trim so today need a full haircut, shaping and more color at the roots than last time, so I predict a 2 or more hour appt.

Sure wish we could get some more rain here, we finally had an inch while we were gone and the yards look a little better but need more.

Yes, Sandy, when my hair was dark I always had to wash it about twice before it wasn't too dark after new color.

DD#2 and the family due home today from Disneyland and the beach so anxious to see the little ones and have Bobby tell me all about their adventure.

Hi ladies...

Grumbling at 154 this morning..

Every time I dye my hair, I find another color..I think I am settled on Medium Ash Brown..Even though my hair was dark brown as a kid, the medium looks better..My sisterinlaw is a great hairdresser, but lives in NH..oh well..

I'm going to Planet of Apes with 2 friends tomorrow..It is supposed to be great and the monkeys look real, not like those older fake monkeys..

Oh..Pillars of the Earth??? I think that is on Instant Netflix..

We loved the new Apes film. We liked the old ones too. This is like a "super-prequel" to the whole story.

Let's see -

DD24 broke up with her DBF of 4 years on Sunday.
DSalmost19 was in a car accident on Monday.
Tues & Wed were spent trying to figure out how DSalmost19 can get to school in Chicago on Sunday AND still get this court case from the accident dropped or fixed so he doesn't have to come back here twice in the next month.
Also we're shopping for school, getting a rental minivan to move him, work on PEO that has to be finished for the yearbook . . . .
And a gazillion other things I'm sure I've forgotten.

I may not be back until next Wednesday.
Pray for me!
