My friend had to work over so it looks like I'm going Sunday. I think I'll go first thing in the morning to escape some of the crowds. I'm doing the Kansas one. I think the only diff is Two Buck Chuck on the MO side.

I think there is a tiny bit of sugar in the pecan butter..There is a website, I believe..But, I will check the label..

I'm sure Beth will be shopping at TJ's today, too..and half of KCity..Have fun, Sandy.

Looked at the first apartment..He liked it..but can he get his couch up the stairs????
Big question..so, he took measurements..first engineering challenge.

That's a good one Carolyn!! My son bought a couch that he actually had to disassemble to get it into his house!!

So, we went to TJs. There were SO MANY people there we could hardly see anything! But I saw enough that I want to go back. When it's less crowded. It's on the Ward Parkway side of the mall towards the end where the theaters are.

Just got back from seeing the movie Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks in it, my friend and I both really liked it. nice, happy movie.

One time my son was moving across state, he looked into renting a uhaul truck to move and we decided that all his garage sale stuff together were not worth what it would cost, so he just gave it all away, LOL. All my kids furniture for years was hand me downs and garage sale items, DS is still using hand me downs from his 3 big sisters, but his wife is a genius at turning them into gems.

The book The Help is coming out as a movie, we saw the previews today, it looks great.

Hi gals..

Brett chose the bigger apartment which was in "mint" condition. No worries about stairs and he can keep his computer room separate from the bedroom..Don't have to do window treatments..they are there..However, no washer/dryer, but a place for them. I told him he could use ours..for free. There are some nice people in this complex, too, so he might make a new friend, which would be nice...

Morning
Carolyn, sounds like Brett made the better choice after all, ready to move in and who wouldn't like the extra room, and, he can always either come to your house, which is a good chance to see you and visit, or, purchase or rent a w/d.

Another hot day here in TX and we need rain so badly. Wish, wish, wish.

Might check out the dollar movies for today, to see if there are any I missed earlier that I wanted to see, I am sure there are.

Enjoy your TJ's girls, I think I saw recently that they are finally coming to the Dallas area.

Went to TJ's today. Got some $2.99 wine (1 bottle Pinot), coffee, cat food, muffin mix, Fage 2%, freeze dried unsweetened blueberries, tomato basil pasta sauce, triple ginger snap cookies, sweet potato bisque and portabella mushroom bisque. I will report back!

Buffy, it is hot and dry here too! I water my tomatoes and flowers twice a day.

How long were the lines today? There were lines yesterday just to get close enough to see anything, let alone buy anything. I'll go back in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to hear how you like your stuff.

Hi and welcome..We are a bunch of gals who are concerned about our weight and trying to do a plan that fits our lifestyle..Not everyone does the EFGT plan, but some do.. Join us, please..We also chat about other things..

I'll have to ask Beth if she went to the TJoe's..I'm sure she would visit the MO one..closer and has wine..

AKKK..I was bad..Went to a baby shower, mindlessly ate a piece of cake (that wasn't that great), and gained.. Banging head on the computer..

I enlisted 2 young men from church to help move Brett..They are always needing money, so this should be a good match.

Enjoy your movie, Buffy..

I think we will see Harry on Tuesday night. Gary can't remember if he saw Part I..He did..LOL

There are some stickies on the Eat Fat Get Thin thread home page that tell you all about it!
Read up - and then come back with questions!
Basically - don't be afraid of fat!

We went to a wine and appetizer party last night.
I made a crab roll with lemon aioli - yummy!
And we all had to bring 2 bottles of wine that would compliment our dish.
A big variety and I tasted a lot of them!

Morning!
It's so simple - and from the Food & Wine website!

Crab Rolls with Lemon Aioli

1 1/4 cups aioli or mayonnaise
2 large celery ribs, cut into 1/4-inch dice
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Cayenne pepper
1 1/4 pounds lump crabmeat, picked over and lightly broken up
Salt
8 hot dog buns or 16 mini brioche rolls, split
8 Boston lettuce leaves, sliced

In a large bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the celery and lemon juice and season with cayenne. Gently fold in the crabmeat and season with salt. Fill the buns with the lettuce and the crab salad and serve.

The crab salad can be refrigerated overnight.

Morning!
MMMMM, sounds so good MK.
Welcome Korah, enjoy reading the tips and join in our friendly group.

Went to see the movie Bridesmaids yesterday, very funny. I had to look around to find a theatre that was still showing it during the day, the one I found was a dinner theatre and had recliners and a menu!! I had decided on popcorn, so didn't order off the menu but man, those seats were comfy, great way to watch a movie. But, beware, the gal next to me ordered wine from the menu and was a little put out to find they were charging $10 per glass, plus tip of course. And, the tickets to get in were $12, so pricey.
Just started a new audible book, The Well and the Mine by Gin Phillips, so far quite good.
Eye Dr. today, then take my car in to get the brakes redone.

Hi gals..

I love crabmeat..I never thought of using cayenne pepper and lemon juice, though..Gotta try it..Unfortunately, all we can get is canned crabmeat, but it is okay..I don't use the fake stuff, but with all these goodies, it might be okay and it is very cheap..

Well....Brett's apartment is a "go"..Brought his 2 month check to Kay..the landlord..They aren't going to do a background check on him..Got 2 boys to help move, got the truck all organized..LOL..It's a good thing I don't work...Although, Dianne and I did 2 Welcome Wagon calls this morning, then we had lunch..LOL..

Back on track today..I was 157 again..

When you cheat, you pay..amen.

Holy smokes on the $12 for the tickets....What a fun movie..with wine, it was probably
funnier for your neighbor..

The Well and the Mine

The Well and the Mine is the story of one Depression-era family in an Alabama coal-mining town, and the single night that forever changes their view of the world around them. While the Moore family and their story are a product of my imagination, the world they live in was very real. It was a time and place shaped by the hard realities of poverty and racism, and there are still echoes of that world in the one we know today

Just a short part off Amazon. So far, very good.

A+ from the eye Dr. today, which is very important for a diabetic.

Car is in for new brake pads, should be finished tomorrow.

Did get the bedding through the W/D today, clothing tomorrow.

Think the heavy cloud that has hung over me for almost a year is clearing, now that I know DB is at peace and restful and not angry, hurting or sad anymore. I am beginning to feel myself again.

Sandy: LOL..I'm sure he would love to see his Mom and Dianne at the door..We had a visit with an elderly gentlemen who was all decked out for our visit..rings, bracelets, cowboy boots, etc..His wife had just died a few months ago. Well, he wanted to show us his cowboy boot collection..He had about 30 pairs of fancy boots..LOL..and a very sweet Siamese cat. We meet all kinds of peeps and their pets..

MK: I do get a paycheck for WW..We make about $50 a visit from our clients that we bill..We split it, so it is not bad pay for 30 minutes work...LOL..However, we don't get tons of people to visit, so it is pretty low paying..LOL..

Oh..Buffy, so glad your eyes are A+ and your cloud is lifting..Sometimes when a very sick loved one dies, there is relief and I think that is natural..

Cindy is watering, watering, watering.....

Yes, Carolyn, besides being busy, busy, busy, busy, you are a working woman. I didn't realize you got that little bit of payment, maybe it covers your gas

Hi Sandy, Hi Korah

18th day over 100 here today, next week the forecast is exactly the same. Ahhh, summer time in TX, but alas, it seems it is just as hot over much of the country. Whew.
