I really do NOT want to post my weight today but time to pay the fiddler I guess.
153.8!! That's about a 3.5# gain for the month. I protest having to weigh in so close to a holiday weekend especially since I was so bad over it, lol. I've organized a lunch for my aunt who's turning 84 today. It's going to be her and several of her nieces. Even a couple great nieces and one great-great niece. She had 5 boys and always wanted a girl so she always loved having her nieces around. I'm planning on a salad today or a bunless burger. Planning!!

It started with the cake at the graduation party..but I'm back on track..You are a nice niece..Hi Cindy... Question: Have any of you ever gotten back on a bike after many years??? I used to bike all the time, but not since I got married..We might be doing a tiny bit of biking on vacation..

We always rent one when we go on beach vacations. DH had one little altercation with the sea wall and drew blood, but nothing serious, lol. It didn't make him stop anyway. We like biking in beach areas b/c there aren't many hills!

Oh, and the lunch was very nice. My aunt was thrilled and everybody wants to do it again next year. I told my aunt "just think, if Marilyn Monroe was still alive, you'd be her little sister!". She got a kick out of that.
I did have a salad but I also had a piece of the birthday cake. Everybody was raving about it and it was from a new little bakery. It was good, but now I wish I'd passed. |

No, no helmets. I have so much hair my head sweats if I have anything on it. I'm sure we should but I made it all through childhood riding rickety bikes with no helmets, no pads, barefoot, and bare legged and I survived, lol. The worst thing that ever happened to me was getting my pants leg caught in the chain!
My DD came home and ordered a cake exactly like that one for the baby's baptism party Sunday. So maybe I can resist it this time. |

Hi
I am waiting for my EFGT book to arrive it should arrive today hopefully. Hope its ok for me to join in. Do I assume most people posting on her are from america? (I am posting from England) I have been reading your posts for a few days now. Does anyone have any tips for when you first start the diet and what initial weight loss should I expect? |

Clairelorraine!Yes, we're from America, but that's not a problem at all! There are some "Sticky Notes" at the Eat Fat, Get Thin Forum that should help get you started and you can always ask questions here! |

Morning!
to new members. Glad to have you. Carolyn, I am older and weigh a lot more than you do and I don't exercise, so when I bought a new bike to ride around the neighborhood and to get exercise, I found it much different then when I was a kid and used to ride my bike for hours and hours, yes, barefoot, bareheaded, barelegged. I found out that today it HURT to ride a bike but I am so out of shape, it was awful. Here I had these fond memories of easily flying around on my bike and it wasn't like that at all, but, you exercise and are in shape, you will probably really enjoy it. MK, yes, I think all your exercising you do these days has really helped your fitness level and helped you keep down and even lose a little more weight, you really do a great job of it. Sandy, you are so right, you have to try out new cakes, life is too short not to. Cindy, I forgot to weigh as well and not sure I will, I weighed last week and was about the same, I thought I had gained some b/c my clothes felt a little tight but I think it was more b/c of hot weather that my clothes didn't feel as comfortable. Supposed to be 98 here today, I do not like our hot summers but I guess the rest of the year makes it worth it. Today I am driving to Austin to take care of little Ollie for a few days, I am looking forward to seeing DS and DDIL and of course the baby, I know he has changed and DS is so anxious for me to see all the changes.

Thanks Tuscan Girl. I will take a look at the sticky notes.
I am so glad a found this forum this diet isn't widely heard of over hear and my friends all think I am going barmy starting to cook my food in lard and spreading butter on my bread (well the one slice of bread I have been having each day) but the more I read about this way of eating the more it makes sense. The only thing is when I am getting up and looking on here and posting most of you will be in bed! I wish we had your weather over here its all been a bit grey here today but no rain !! |

Hi gals..
Welcome, ClaireLorraine.. We would love to send you some warm weather..We have enough to go around. Got up to exercise early... LOL..Buffy..I need a bike with a fluffy seat. Dh is not in shape at all..So, we may not go very far..LOL.. Cindy: Wowow..on the 2 pounds down. I am taking Westhroid and someone told me to crunch it to break the outside of it so it would absorb better. So, I'm trying that..Dr. is next week.. MK: you are so busy.. Sandy: Have you recovered from the cake?? |

Nope, haven't recovered. Still stuck. My scale seems to like that number a LOT lately. I sure hope I haven't set myself a new set point.

I hear you on the set point..I'm a believer in that..I think we have to do something drastic to shake it up..like eat really "clean"..

Hi everyone, just got the Eat Fat get Thin book and getting ready to start reading it. Have a few quick questions-
Do you all worry about counting calories? How long have you been eating this way? and how much weight have you lost? I have been reading through the threads and did high fat low carb years ago, but never got the chance to read the book. Thank you for any responses, Now off to go read |

Buffy - get the padded seat covers! So much easier!!
And I love cake! I had a lemon cupcake last night and loved every bite of it! Back to it today! Sandy - life's too short not to have cake! Cindy - on the loss!!Carolyn - I checked out 2 different home in my town yesterday. I liked them both, both I don't know if they'll be a good fit for my mom. One of them is sending a nurse to do an assessment on her today. Wish me luck! Quote:
I do have to count calories - I'm only 5' and every calorie counts! I have to stay below 1200 to lose. I've been following this most of the time I've been on LC. I've lost about 20lbs on it. I could still lose another 5, and sometimes I get close, but then cupcakes get in the way! ![]() Quote:
My son was just in London on a school trip! And yes, be glad to send you some heat!! The fat keeps you full so the diet does make sense. Keep an eye on your carbs and see how much you can eat! Are you about 6 hours ahead of us?! You should be awake now!! ![]()

Did he like London? did he see all the sights..... Buckingham Palace, St Pauls cathederal, go on a open top bus ride!!
I think I am about 8 hours ahead. It is 8.45pm here at the moment. I have just had my dinner which was lamb burgers (no bun) with salad. Then a few strawberried with some double cream for dessert..... Was that ok?? And thanks for sending the good weather over here we reached the dizzy heights of 70 degrees here today which means everyone walks round half naked because that is really hot especially for this time of the year. I am still reading the book but it is so interesting. Hope you having a good day. |
