Questions

After reading Sticky notes can someone tell me what a "fit day" is please.

And a really silly question but what does eggs over easy mean? is that a fried egg?

Thanks Clairex

Fit Day is an online food tracking site that helps you keep your %s in the right ratios. It's free.

Over easy, fried egg, flipped over once and served with a runny yolk. My favorite!!

Hi ladies..

Cindy is our brave gal..with horses and all sorts of outside stuff..

MK: I think going from assisted living to a nursing home is a big step..We found that with Betty. AL..normal peeps...NH...very needy peeps, and some not so needy. So, there is no happy median. Your mom might be one of the brighter spots in the NH, so hopefully, she will find other bright spots there, too. It will be nice that you are closer..

Claire: I love London..Been there 3 times in my life and just enjoyed it so much. The last time we saw that scary play..The Woman in Black..Have you seen that?????

Sandy: I have to have my yolk hard as a rock.. Hope you are keeping cool..

Buffy: Are you having fun with the grandbabies today????

Dh is coming home from Germany tomorrow. I hope he didn't eat any lettuce..

It's his 2nd or 3rd trip to London - they saw the Imperial War Museum, rode the London Eye (is that what it's called?), went on the Jack the Ripper tour, St Paul's, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and then they went to Bath and Stonehenge . . . . and of course Harrod's!

You're 6 hours ahead of me - I'm in the middle of the US - but since we have 4 major time zones in the continental US, you're probably 8 hours difference from California.

The AL place she's at now is trying really hard to keep her there.
The nurse who did the assessment was great, but I haven't heard from the one she reported to yet.

Of course, Betty had an assessment and it was very eyeopening what she could do and couldn't do. Betty moved when she couldn't walk anymore and needed a wheelchair to get around. AL's in KS don't have the license to provide lots of physical care..Good luck to your mom and you..and prayers for the perfect situation for her.

TuscanGirl
Oh I am off to Bath in August I love it there its such a lovely historical city we stay in a little hotel outside of bath where they serve proper old fashioned English cream teas Lovely!!

I have never been on the London Eye though I do keep meaning too but you know what it's like when something is on your doorstep and you never seem to get the time to do it.

Carolyn: Not seen that play but I like scary ones so might look in to that. Did you see it in the West End?

Hi gals..

Went to breakfast with a friend who tries to LC..Then we went walking in the park..where it was shady..It was 82 and humid..

Claire: My hubby went to Bath once when he was in England and he loved it. Next time
we go to the UK, that will be a definite stop..I think the play was in the West End..It was playing for many years...Not sure if it is still playing or not.

I was down a pound to 154..but need to lose some more....before vacation on Saturday..LOL..I'm sure that will happen..

Dh is heading home..Brett was here overnight and off to see his Wichita gf..

Still at 154...so far, so good..LOL..

Sandy: Well, gf is pretty serious and Brett is getting that way..He will be 24 next weekend, but he needs a real job before any serious plans can be thought of..LOL.

Oh....the 39 Steps sounds really great..

On our vacation to WI next week we are going to 2 silly plays..Lumberjacks In Love and
another play that sounds silly, too..Hopefully, we will be laughing..LOL..and we aren't too damaged after bicycling.

Thinking of Cindy on the trail with her horse and this hot weather..

New here

Hey all,

So glad I found out about this diet plan! I've been a low carber for about 5 yrs, but it's been a struggle. Although I never had much weight to lose, at first, it was great. Just cut back on carbs and drop 5 or 10 pds. But, over time, the loss stopped happening, as easily or as much, then I even started to GAIN weight. My body seemed to hold onto the slightest carb, almost like I was insulin resistant.

I haven't been able to figure out what was going on, but after reading about EFGT, I think my problem has been too little fat! I feel a little foolish not having realized the importance of fat. I did notice whenever I ate tuna fish or salad drenched in olive oil, the scale would move down, so I've gradually been piecing it toegther, but still didn't quite get that a LC diet is a high fat diet - duh!

Anyway, so glad to have found out about the books and also to find this forum. Any ideas that you could give me for upping my fat intake would be appreciated. I'm not crazy about meat, so other options would be great. Just read about sugar free pudding that Mr Biggie posted. Hadn't thought of that. Wonderful!

Carolyn - where in WI are you going??
With the cicadas - we don't even have a summer so far.
No one wants to go outside!

keysgirl!

Fat is easy (and fun) to add.
Cream in your coffee, all sorts of cheese, butter, mayo, etc.
One of the stickies has the percentages you should try to follow for protein, fat and carbs. So, take a look and come back and post!

MK, you're not missing much outside except a lot of HEAT and HUMIDITY!!!

Carolyn, I have this mental image of you and Gary crawling into the Lumberjack play after cycling all day, lol. Let's hope that's not the case. I'm sure you guys will have a great time.

Welcome Kerri. We don't set certain goals for the month. We all just try to lose and support each other along the way. We talk about a lot of things besides EFGT too, so jump in and get to know us and let us get to know you.

Hi gals..

Wwooo..we have some new friends.Keysgirl and Kerri..We are a very loose group here..Our challenge is to weigh in the first of the month and the last of the month. Reporting any loses, etc.. It does keep us on task for the most part and aware of any gains..

On the bicycling..I was imagining an hour...tops..LOL.

We are going to Door County, Chicago, IL and DeKalb to visit some friends.
Yikes on the cicadas..I hope they aren't in Wisconsin..

Doing Vacation Bible School registration for 2 days..That is pretty easy and no kiddos to take around, etc. I have done VBS for many years..Time for the young uns to take over..

Fat is fun..I totally agree.

Cyalater.

LOVE Door County!!
My neighbor's nephew has a restaurant up there.
They have great little shops too!!

And you'll be pretty close to DS22 and DD24's BF!
(just in case you want to stop in and say "hi"! )

When do you leave?

I should have walked a little sooner - they're really flying out there now! Ick!

Had coffee with our Newcomers' group. Why do we always have one person who monopolizes the conversation??? and..it's not me..LOL. It was fun anyway. Making
LC Reubens for dinner with devilled eggs..I made my own bread..LOL..

We are flying to Milwaukee on Saturday, then driving down to Chicago, then on to Door County on Monday..I hope it is cooler than 90 degrees..LOL

I'm hot!!!!! I went to the pool for a couple of hours, then came back and did a few exercises with weights here at home. I think I should've done it the other way around??

I'm trying something a bit different a few days this week. I'm having protein shakes (2-3 a day) and one meal of either meat & veggies or eggs & meat. I need a giant jump start!! I have a lunch tomorrow so who knows what/how I'll do then but the rest of the week I'm really going to try to stick with this and see what happens.

So far so good. Shake for brekkie, shake for lunch, pork chops fried in co oil with carmelized onion and spinach cooked in drippings. That was yummy!! If I get the munchies later I'll have another shake.

Kerri, I too usually need the "chewing" effect but I've gained about 5-6 extra pounds that I can't seem to dislodge so I'm trying this to hopefully lose a big chunk of that quickly. We'll see how well it works.
My pork chop with spinach was great! I hope you enjoy yours with the kale as well.
