Wow! Do you know who's replacing him? That will probably be some big shoes to fill. Our priest is retiring this year too and we still don't know who will replace him. I've been praying about that for awhile now.
I went and played bunco with the assisted living peeps today. One of the men is a man who owned the local grocery store when I was growing up until about 15 years ago. It was sad though b/c he has Alzheimer's and didn't know me. He seemed to enjoy playing the game though which was nice. Our ladies group at church volunteers there one afternoon a month playing bunco with the residents. I plan on going again next month.

Hi..
No, Sandy..We have to form a search committee and in the meantime get an interim pastor..Dh and I have both been on search committees for youth pastors. Dh is very good on search committees as he was a head hunter for many years. LOL..Brett got a call from some Atomic Lab in NY..They do secret stuff for the government..At the facility they can't send stuff out, so the personnel person has to go to another place to do it..Plus they have a 4 to 6 month secret clearance to go through. Oh..Bunco is fun.. I'm sure you "help" those little peeps..So sad about Alzheimer's patients and your little old man friend...

![]() Did Insanity this morning and walked a couple of miles. Did you buy your DHEA from here or at home? Here it's 60 capsules for $17.99. Weird as it sounds, our priest is leaving this summer too! He's been here for 8 years. We do have an interim priest already and our official priest will start in October. He's still deployed in Afghanistan and won't be home until then. |

LOL...The local Lutheran pastor is leaving too this summer..It's a summer of change, I guess.
Well, the 7-Keto is cheaper from netrition, especially if you order some other stuff.. Of course, it depends on the strength.. Back to 153..but still have to pound off a few more pounds in May..I'd like to go on vacation at 150..Maybe I should stop eating so much? |

Got an invite from my nephew for his wedding in December in Nicaragua...We can think about that one. Gary and I only have one niece and two nephews between us, so we might the effort to go..Tix are about $800, so it's not horrible.. |

Hi gals..
I was a good mom and did Brett's laundry and ironed his shirts..No biggie and I want him to look nice at work..LOL..He's off to see Rachel, then back to Salina later on. Dh is helping the youth group with a project for the old peeps in our church...We have a steak graduation party for a dear little gal. She is so excited about graduating..her parents are, too.. Dh's snoring is driving me nutso. So, I sleep in another room and shut his door..I feel badly about it, but I don't have a solution. He is going to the doctor this week, I told him to ask her about it.. Great sunny, warm day down here..My tomato plants are smiling.. |

OK, i'm officially tired of planting flowers! I planted 5 flats (a flat contains 48 plants) of impatients today and 7 flats of begonias a couple of weeks ago. And mowing! Can we talk about mowing! And mulching! You have to mulch every year! It does look good but I'm ready to be done already!!

Thought I had better check in, this week has been a blur, been gone some and not feeling the best the rest but feeling much better today. Went with friend to do returns and brought home more new things than I returned, me thinks me has a problem, too many pretty things out there and on sale, with coupons, too much temptation.
Wow Cindy, your flowers and yard are amazing. Hi Carolyn, Sandy and MK. Congrats on the graduation MK, we had a great time at DGS's in Nebraska last weekend. My dgs who is having a tough time with his stepmom lives with my DD thank heavens and she and my ex SIL have talked and agree it will be best if he sees less of the stepmom, even my ex SIL knows she has a problem and I guess there has even been talk of them divorcing but they are expecting their 2nd baby next months, so he is in a really tough situation. But, whatever, he needs to protect his son. Hope you all have been fine, sorry I haven't posted much, just can't believe how busy I can get at times and time seems to go so fast anymore. Weight the same for me but I have been getting some walking it and want to continue with that.

Hi all, you all are wearing me out just reading about your activities. And then add in mine and whew! I need a nap!
Yesterday was DGS18 graduation at 10 a.m. and then back to his house for party. Then home for a touch-down landing before heading to the Jazz for fresh oysters before they go sky high from the MS river flooding them out. Then church this a.m., took pooch for her vaccinations then off to get a tenderloin sammy. Bad girl!! Tomorrow is lunch with oldest DGD21, DGDIL2B, and another of their friends along with the baby. After lunch they're all going to see Bridesmaids and I'm bringing the baby home with me for the afternoon. Tuesday I work in the church office all morning, then bunco Tues. night. Wed is DS's 40th!!! birthday dinner at 6 and DH has an appt with a new back specialist in the afternoon he wants me to tag along for. Thursday is another massage, yippee Friday is a dr. appt for me. I'm pretty busy this week and none of that includes exercise, errands, etc. Ugh! I hate weeks like this! But at least I'm not bored, right? Maybe I'll be too busy to eat very much. Ha! Then over the weekend we're going to the lake one day and out of town friends are here another day. Monday I think we'll just crash and burn. |

![]() We should all crash and burn tomorrow! Unfortunately, I have to go visit my mom!! We've been waiting for rain all day - I hope it comes soon. I DID finally find the cat. She'd probably been out for 2 nights! ![]() But was hiding in the garden shed. ![]() I finally relaxed and then went out to dinner with friends. I'm better now! ![]() And Pirates was good! After all it's Johnny! Last edited by TuscanGirl; 05-22-2011 at 06:58 PM.. |

My friend's DD & her DH lives there. They survived huddled in the bath tub. The man in the apartment next door died. This is such a tragedy! How many of those deaths were hospital patients. They said the top 2 floors were destroyed at the hospital. So sad.

Hi ladies..
We live 90 miles from Joplin and are just reeling from the results of that terrible tornado.I heard that 25 percent of the city was destroyed..This is a really good sized city..mall, hospitals, etc.etc..Thank God, your friends' dd and dh were okay. One LCF's mom's house was destroyed..She found her mom in Parsons, KS at the local hospital with a broken leg. Parsons is an excellent hospital for leg injuries, etc.. Our pastor and his wife were driving to Branson right through Joplin a few hours before it hit..They are okay. Brett's gf and her dad drove to Branson from Wichita yesterday morning and made it okay..So scarey.. MK: Glad you found your kitteh... akk...back on track this morning..I made an almond flour One Minute Muffin for breakfast..It was excellent..I split it and toasted it.. |

The death count is up to 118 now I think. And they still think they'll find more in the rubble. I heard about another gal in our ladies group at church that has family there and haven't been able to reach any of them yet. And I have a cousin who lives there, which I'd forgotten about, and he said that it skipped over his apartment building before coming back down. Scary stuff!

There is a dad and 2 little girls 5 and 1 who went to Home Depot and never came back.
The dad is from the next town over, but moved to Joplin.. I do think that there are many bodies unaccounted for because of what tornados do.. |
