I know I should be eating better today, but I need all the energy I can get...MK

I am always really tired after vacation and it takes a while to adjust back to the routine..

Yeah, Sandy....

Hi everyone..

Did over an hour of exercise..LOL..had my coffee, then on to Bible Study this afternoon.
My car is in the shop for a wheel bearing problem. We took Dh's car to Salina..It hadn't
been out of town for a while..LOL..

Oh..I got some strawberries and made that 2 minute poundcake someone posted on the bulletin board. I will cut it into 4ths so we can get two desserts each out of it..

Hope everyone is doing okay.

That's the intelligent way of serving the "pound cake." I made it twice and had to eat the whole thing!

I've been lurking on this thread for a while. Have been doing the Fat Fast once in a while...not the very restricted one in the Atkins book, but the one posted on the first post on the Fat Fast Challenge thread. Also have read two of Barry Groves books and two of Gary Taubes' and I'm convinced that way more fat is the way to go!

Shirl!!

Oh what a day!

Copper(my dog) had a fatty mass under one armpit and a small tumor on his eye. Both of those had to be removed. Then I told them while he's under, clean his teeth.

He did fine, though he lost 2 molars during the dental cleaning - one was bad and the other just "fell out"!

He was a little slow last night and we'll be going through lots of hot dogs trying to get his pain meds and antibiotics down him.

HOWEVER, my mom, who broke a rib Sunday night, was sent to the hospital in an ambulance. They found her on the floor in the bathroom - she'd fallen again and who knows how long she'd been there!

So I have daily trips to Springfield for a while to the hospital.

Just when you think you have a handle on life . . . .

Sigh.

Thanks for the welcome, Mary Kay!

I'm back on track after doing some damage on Easter. Son made apple tart (I think that is what it is called) and homemade ice cream. Of course he had to leave the leftovers here and I had far too much on Sunday. I hate it when I do that! Always have the best of intentions, but sometimes the cravings get the best of me.

Hi ladies...

Nice to see you, Shirl..

Mary Kay..Oh dear..thank God she didn't break a leg, but a rib is still very painful. Good
thing she is living where someone could find her..She might need a Lifeline at the AL place, so she can buzz someone if she falls..Prayers for quick healing for her.

Copper's teeth are nice and sparkly, I'm sure..Glad he is up and about..I know he will appreciate the hotdogs..

Brett has an interview May 13 at MAC or something like that, near the airport in KCity.
It would be a good place for him to work, I'm sure. He headed down to the flood zone
in MO..Stilwell..today. Hopefully, the waters have receded and the Pie Factory is still
afloat..LOL

I was 152 this morning..

Good luck to Brett. I've not heard of MAC. What is it?

Welcome Shirl!! We've all done the same thing so don't feel bad. Just pick yourself up and start again.

MK, bummer about your mom. I know what you're feeling. Just when you think everything is going great....ugh life steps in and interferes. Been there, done that, as you well know.

There is a call line in each room but the string was all wound up and too short to reach!

Hi ladies..

152 this morning... Almost 151..sort of..

LOL..I got a jump rope at WMart yesterday..Holy smokes that is hard, but in 10 jumps
my heart was racing like crazy. I guess I'm out of shape..Do you think I can build
up the numbers without dying????

MKay: When minlaw fell and broke her hip at the farm on Brett's graduation day years back, she crawled to the phone instead of pushing the button around her neck..No kidding, so I understand..Hope your mom is feeling better.

Sandy/Cindy: It is Mac Equipment, which makes pneumatic stuff..I am really hoping that
he gets this job as we don't want to go through the "job looking" scenario again. They would hire him at Schwan's, if they had an opening..

Okay..who is getting up to watch the wedding tomorrow??????

Carolyn- I tried jumproping for a while. It's tough. I aim for 15 minutes, and I vary the jumping with skipping and jogging type steps. I have to stop every couple minutes for a 15-20 second walking break to catch my breath.

No wedding for me. I don't have cable. I will catch video clips on yahoo =)

MK- sorry about your mom

Buffy- How fun!!! ENJOY IT!!!

So my big cheat was more like a big pain in the a$$. I gained 2 lbs and it would not go away. Finally this morning I am back down to 166.... but I have been freaking out that I thought I permanently gained that weight back. I over-cheated and gorged myself on carbs. But I learned my lesson! Next time I feel the need to "cheat" it will be with a single meal or a single carby item. Not a whole evening of unabashed binging!

I used to be able to do that and it would come right back off... guess I'm older this time around with another baby under my belt. It gets harder with more kids and age I guess.

Chelsie: Yup..I didn't have a weight problem until I got pregnant at 32..I do believe
pregnancies can mess up your hormones and it takes a long time for them to settle down.
Yeah for you...15 minutes of jump roping is amazing..

I can't remember the last time I jumped rope but I sure loved it when I was little. I've been thinking about starting my running intervals again but that's as far as I've gotten so far. I need some motivation, big time.

Shirl: I don't know what channel..You can check your local listings at the tv guide site..

I'm sure we will see Kate in her dress many times.

I think the key to fat burning is getting your heart rate up..But I don't like to do that too
much..

I'm not that into the wedding either. Part of it is overkill- we are bombarded with it everywhere. Part of it is jealousy! LOL! She so tiny and thin and she gets to be a princess! Just kidding

And by the way- jumproping is awful. I wanted to keel over and die when I was done. I remember I loved it as a kid... what happened?!

I know I still need to lose a few pounds but I don't feel obese anymore. Some guy got pissed off at me today cause I walked in front of his car in the grocery store parking lot (completely unintentionally) and he yells "Hey fatty! Why don't you go eat a few more cheeseburgers!" The stupid thing was that he was easily 300lbs or more... so it didn't really bother me too much, but talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Why do people have to be so mean.

Do you guys have a wii? If so, I highly recommend Just Dance. It is really fun, and in 30 minutes you're sweating like a pig, but it doesn't feel like a workout.

Hi..

I didn't watch the real wedding, but the reruns were very nice..Beautiful wedding, very tasteful..The Queen's outfit was a little bright, but when you are Queen you can wear what you want.. Was there a snubbing of Camilla??? LOL..

Yes, I have a Wii, Chelsie..but is it hard to Just Dance on carpet???? That's my problem.
Good grief on that rude man in the parking lot..He was "jealous" of you..Why are peeps
so mean????

Buffy: Are you waiting for the Royal crowds to leave??? When are you heading for London???

Exercised, had my coffee..did dishes, doing laundry.

I got some Wholly Guacamole (100 calorie packs) and love it.. Have you guys tried it?
You get 6 packs and they are the perfect size for one and the rest of it stays fresh and doesn't turn that ugly brown..
