Morning!
Thanks Carolyn! I tried to go without the NyQuil last night. Didn't go well. Guess I'm not quite 'cured' yet! |

Morning
Nov. 1 209.2 Dec. 1 209.2 Jan. 1 210.8 Feb. 1 208 Mar 1 211 Yikes, I had a gain too. I knew I was going to have one, I really have eaten too much and the wrong things all the month of February, the ice and snow storm, having a sinus infection, eating for comfort did me in. Hopefully spring weather will get me back on track. I leave later today to go to DD's to babysit. My car was supposed to be done yesterday and it still isn't done, they had to replace some more hoses so it is supposed to be done to be picked up today. My laptop isn't working so no computer there but I am taking a box of things to work on that hopefully won't require the computer or internet. For naptimes, LOL. Pretty and sunny here and supposed to get to 70 today, even warmer tomorrow.

Hi ladies..
I'm taking yesterday's weight..the same..152.. Interesting note: A friend of mine had a hysterectomy and since that operation, she says she has gained about 18 pounds and can't get it off like "before" when it would just slip off. So, as we approach menopause or are on the other side of it, this is totally normal. In order to lose, we have to be perfect..I'm not so perfect, but I'm trying. I think cold meds make you gain. I love Nyquil for sleeping with a cold. Buffy: Be careful driving..Cars are never done when they are supposed to be done..LOL. Don't your kids have a computer???? Nice today..I'm going to start cleaning my house this afternoon for a prayer coffee Thursday morning. I'm making a high carb coffee cake..best recipe ever and a low carb blueberry coffee cake.

Carolyn, yes, they have 2 laptops but are taking them along as they both have work to do while on the long flight to London. I will be back home over the weekend and have my Iphone so will have to survive.
I also love nyquil for sleeping. Yes, menopaws certainly makes weight gain easy and loss harder. You are right about cars not being done, last time it was in the shop, the next time I got very far from home, a hose came off and I was stuck. The car was "done" yesterday but blew a heater hose while still at the shop, so DH told him to replace all the hoses, so a further delay and expense but hopefully now it will be good to go. DD's house is only 45 minutes away and while there, if I need to go anywhere with the kiddos, I will have her car with the car seats installed. I seldom take 2 little ones that age anywhere, I am too out of practice and it worries me to have them both out and about with me. Still waiting for the call on my car, otherwise am packed and ready. |

Yup, my friend went cold turkey..No hormones at all. She just had this done about
3 months ago or so.. Oh...typical, typical car experience. Yes, you need those permanent carseats for sure.. It takes an engineer to figure them out, I've heard. Cindy: I'll be anxious to see what you weigh with your new dose of thyroid meds. |

Please........prayers needed for DGS's baby. He's not due for 3 weeks but the Dr. is going to induce Monday b/c he says the baby is very small and there's not enough amniotic fluid. My DD is out of town and of course is freaking out about it so......please pray that our little guy is fine and that mama is fine too and that everybody is here when the time comes. Thank you so much.

Good morning..
Definitely praying for your new little one to come that all will be safe. 3 weeks early isn't that early, but I guess they want to make sure everything is developing okay. Monday will seem a long time from now. The new mama's mother is in town, right? Keep us posted. Glad you are feeling better, MKay. I would just do the errands because working out will strain your little body too much after you have been sick. Cleaning day for me and baking day. Ladies over tomorrow morning. First, go exercise and read with the 5th graders. |

Sandy, I'm so sorry! I know that's stressful. My hospital has a level 3 NICU so we get a lot of early babies. Did they estimate a weight? She may have a c-section.

She'll be at your hospital Cindy. They think he weighs about 5 to 5.5# so that's ok I guess. Would you consider that in the 11th percentile?

Babies I know go home at 5 pounds, so I'm sure your little one will be fine..I vote for the C-section, less stress on the baby. I know they avoid them if at all possible, though.
Taking a break from cleaning..Will vacuum tomorrow to make sure the cat hair is all up. Baked 2 coffee cakes.. Anyone watch Idol last night? I loved the guys..They are all terrific..I bounce back with the BL and AI.. |

Thank you my friends. I really don't know all the details. I'm pretty far down on the info list, but I do know I just want him to be ok and I want his mama to be ok and at this point I just want him here to love and cuddle so I can quit worrying. Even though I know worrying doesn't help at all, it keeps slipping in without warning.

Oh, heck, that's practically full size. Seriously we get 2 pounders that come in and do fine. Really, I was just over 6 pounds full term. Everyone thinks the baby is small if it's under 8 pounds these days. 5-5 1/2 is fine. Rest easy.

Introducing myself...
Hi!
I am new here, have been lurking for a while, bouncing between Atkins and EFGT and now think I will stick to EFGT. I have read lots and lots of past posts by you all. You're a wealth of knowledge! I put my typical day into ****** yesterday and it seemed my stats were right on at 70/20/10 which was a little more carbs than I had been doing for the first couple weeks. My amount of protein was good at I think 70 gms, and I think the cals were about 1400. I have not lost much but am totally ok with that. I really like eating this way and feel good and my clothes feel better. I think I have lost about 5lbs in 3 weeks however right in the middle we went to Spain for the long weekend and I had paella a couple times and lots of really good wine! Would you mind critiquing a typical day for me (yesterday)? Coffee (big) with 2oz whipping cream, 2 Tbs Torani SF syrup about an hour later... breakfast: 2 bacon 2 eggs 1 cup mushrooms sauteed in bacon grease, 1 T butter, 1 T EVOO lunch: Roll-ups as follows- 3 slices ham 1 oz cream cheese 9 little dill pickles 2 c salad 2T chunky blue cheese dsg 1 tsp real bacon bits snack: 2T SFPB on celery stalk 1 prune Dinner: 2 chicken tenders 2 c lettuce 2T Blue cheese dsg 1 tsp bacon bits 6 cherries with 2 tsps cream I always have the same salad twice a day. Love it. For dinner I vary the protein. Sometimes salmon or beef. Sometimes I make a "pizza"-melt 2oz mozzarella in a pan with some pepperoni slices on top. Or "nachos"- melted cheddar in pan till crispy topped with a little salsa and sour cream when cool. Sometimes this is a snack. I try not to have PB too often. Sometimes a snack is pork rinds and sour cream. Are laughing cow cheese wedges OK? Thought they would make a good roll up with beef. I sometimes have hot tea at night with some hwcream. I drink a lot of tea which I mostly make myself, sometimes it is lipton diet green, sometimes I mix it. Rarely drink diet soda unless out to eat. I have made the Oopsie rolls and pizza crust and plan to make more. Had an oopsie pizza with pesto, mozz, and red pepper slices...yummy! So, sorry this is so long! What do you all think? Any thing I need to cut out? Add? Unbelievably, I found some dreamfields pasta here. Was thinking that would be a nice thing to have for Sunday dinner. Do you all use that? Is it OK? Oh and about me: Married, Mom of 3 (13,11,8), Registered Nurse (maternal Child Health) currently living in Germany due to my hubby's job. ~Ali |

![]() It sounds like you're doing amazingly well! You've really made this WOE work for you! ![]() I have used Dreamfields, and it's OK. My new favorite are Tofu Shirataki Noodles. Pure protein and so good! |

Welcome Ali G!! Have you put your diet into ****** or something because at first glance, the protein may be a smidge high but I can't be sure. Last edited by CindyCRNA; 03-03-2011 at 06:47 AM.. |

Thanks for the warm welcome!
@MaryKay-Do you get the Shirataki noodles online? @Cindy-I did put into ****** and my protein was 70gms. I thought it was supposed to be between 50-80? My stats were 70/20/10. I will try to tweak it lower in the next couple days. @Sandy-prayers sent for your little one. My guess is they are more concerned with the low fluid than his weight which is not really that low for 37 weeks. Figure if he went full term, gaining 1/2 lb a week, that would put him at 6.5-7lbs. Hopefully, the induction will go quickly and she won't need a c-section. |

Hi ladies..
Survived my coffee this morning..Thanks to my minlaw's bestest coffee cake recipe..I will share if you want, but it is way not LCarb. I didn't have a drop and put the rest in the freezer for another time. Welcome, Ali...If you are losing weight, then the plan is working for you. That's my mantra.. My only "thing" is to watch the sodium in what you eat. Be sure to drink lots of water to flush it out, too. How much do you want to lose? I love to use Dreamfields, but 2 ounces is a serving, so focus on the meat part of your menu rather than the pasta part has been my experience.Cindy: I had 2 C-s..One was an emergency for my dd and the other was planned..Planned is much better..LOL.. I agree with Cindy, Ali..put your foods into ******..to check on carbs, etc..protein MK: I am liking the tofu shiratake noodles, too. I think I will order some by mail in a couple of days. The closest ones to me are 90 minutes away.. Sandy: Any baby news??? Where is your dd?? Will she be back by Monday??? |
