Oh, lol. He had a tiny little spot on his face which could be an insect bite, a scratch, a blemish, anything really that breaks the skin. Then staph bacteria from somewhere, something got in it and almost immediately became a raging infection. It's really quite scary to see how fast and furious this thing is. The big worry in the beginning was to keep the swelling down as if it went into his eye too much it could damage his eyesight. He won't allow any pictures to be taken of himself, of course, but if you search for it you'll get the idea. It's amazing how many people I know who either have experienced this themselves or know someone who has. I guess back in the olden days people just didn't recover from this type of incident. Thank God for modern medicine. But it sure makes you realize what all the scientists/doctors are talking about when they talk about the super bugs which are resistant to meds.

Hi ladies..

So glad Jarod is better..As I told Sandy my friend Barbara got this from a blemish near her hairline and was in the hospital for 3 or more days with IVs..It's wierd isn't it??

Time for bed..

Hey, Kansas folks..Wichita State is hanging in there and beat the tar out of Washington
State in the Final Four for the NIT..They play for the championship on Thursday night.

Any Final Four fans?? I'm rooting for Butler..cute coach.

Butler is the favorite here too - we all have friends who went to Butler, or just because we're "next door" to Indiana!

Sandy - I'm glad we have modern medicine too. Scary!!!

HI everyone!
Sandy, I had to go look up your DGS's condition, ouch, that looks very painful and serious. You know something is serious today if they keep you or put you in the hospital, that doesn't happen easily anymore. Prayers for his speedy recovery.

Overcast and cold again here today but I am busy getting stuff done at home, so isn't a problem for me. Still getting tired a little more easily than I would like. Darn old age.

DD#3 received the Exceeding Excellence award at work, which will result in a nice bonus and much recognition, yay for her. I am so proud of her, she has put in a hard year. Now, she is up for a promotion, keeps your fingers crossed for her.

The other kids busy with end of school year activities, DGS 17 graduates in May, so looking forward to that.

Think I will pop over to AZ to see my DS in April, some of the gals from the cruise are getting together for a brunch, it will be fun.

Thanks Carolyn, We'll probably just grab a quick dinner at our local Mexican place tonight. DD is making the family BD for me on Sunday. Braised short ribs, ummmmm, I can't wait!! I still have DGD12 with me until her brother gets out of the hospital. Which hopefully will be tomorrow.

Oh..I didn't realize that you had your dgd12 with you..But that is a good thing so his
parents can help her brother..Now, is he a senior??? I hope he's not missing too much
school..

Not purple, Cindy..LOL..Just basic brown to cover my grey roots.

I'm a Panzon lover. Probably more a lover of the employees at this point more than the food, but it's our Cheer's bar. Only 1.5 blocks from our house and everybody knows us. And the food is good too. Especially the margs. Oh wait, that isn't food is it???? Lollol. It's actually one of my major food groups, lol.

This is weird..Another man from our town had a heart attack on board a ship the other day. Luckily, it wasn't serious and he made it home and is having a stent put in. I think they drove to TX to get on board..Long drive again..

Carolyn, I don't care what you call the April thread, it just needs to be a weight loss good-luck thread! I have serious weight creep! Luckily, I can trace it to too-much-food, not hormonal or anything. The weather doesn't help but the sun is peaking out today!

Morning
When you stay home all week there isn't too much to talk about to your online friends it seems. But, I have gotten a lot of needed things done.
The printer I have been trying to fix for the past week seems to be ready for the junk yard, it is only 15 years old, I just don't understand, LOL. Was a trusty little thing for a very long time, but sadly, I must let it go. I have another, I just always liked that old one for black and white. More room in my office, I don't really need 2 printers anyway.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm safe now for another year, lol.

I think Mexican is the favorite food of all the USA, lol. I know everybody I know loves it.

Yes, Carolyn, he's a senior and I hope he doesn't miss too much too. He's had a bit of senioritis already and can't afford much more, IYKWIM. I'll be glad when he finally walks across that stage and they place that piece of paper in his hands.

I think he gets to come home today. This afternoon sometime. I'm ready to resume my boring life. My DGD is no trouble at all, but you just get in your own little routine and any diversion just changes everything. Ok, I guess I am officially old, right? Lol. I'm glad I'm here for all of them and am always more than happy to help in anyway I can.

Hi..

Thanks to Cindy..How about Stop Fooling Around Challenge.. LOl..Any other suggestions are more than welcome, of course.

Buffy: Glad you got some things done..That makes you feel good, doesn't it? Then you can go out and play..

Sandy: So glad Jarod is coming home..I'm sure he will catch up..Mostly the end of the
year, they don't teach much in our schools here..

Brett and his girlfriend are coming next weekend for a visit. SO...I'll be cleaning next week..Got to get the fridge cleaned out, but waiting for a warm day so that I can put
the bins out on the deck to dry..

Have a good one. OH..Wichita State plays tonight in the Championship for the NIT..They will be playing Alabama..They beat Colorado by one point..Let's root on the Shockers..
Don't know who they play??
