Hi ladies..

Yes, they had flown in from KS to Hawaii the week before for a cruise. He had seen his
doctor a couple weeks before and was fine. I think blood clots can be lurking in places
we don't know about. I doubt if he was on the aspirin regime either. This can also
happen on long driving trips..So get up and move. This is my idea that it was caused
from the flight, but it was a massive heart attack and they tried to get his heart going,
but nothing happened.

Take your aspirin..Dh is on an aspirin regime anyway, so it's just normal for him and all his travelling. I can never, ever sleep on a plane..wish I could.

Oh...MK: Those gfs...I'm sure he will find some time to spend with you..but it's hard to leave the gf at the house by herself.

Off to the funeral..

Morning
Finally went back to bed and got some sleep, but then makes for a late start to my day.

Oh MK, I know exactly what you mean. For the first time in ages, my DS was just here for 4 days, but, he didn't stay here at my house since his sister's house was so much more convenient for the business he was here for, and, the 2 evenings I got to see him was with the rest of the family, I really wanted some one on one time with him, didn't happen.

Office work today.

My pup woke me up at 1 a.m. this morning and she wasn't snoring. She wanted to go outside. I think she had a tummy ache.

DH got a mouthpiece from the dentist b/c he grinds his teeth so bad and it's really helped with his snoring too. It doesn't eliminate it completely but it's lots better. He's probably going to make me get one now, lol.

Snore stop is a spray that you spray inside your mouth before you go to bed..I have seen those mouthpieces, too. Oh poor baby doggie..I hope Bailey is okay.

This mouthpiece is nothing like I've ever seen before! It's so tiny I was afraid he'd swallow it!! But somehow it fits over his teeth snugly and keeps his jaws from being able to touch each other so no grinding and less snoring. It's less than 1/2" and kind of square shaped with the groove for his teeth. He had to be fitted at the dentist and it wasn't cheap. I'm anxious to see how the snore stop spray works.

Morning!

We had fun family time yesterday - lunch out with DS21, his GF and I.
I made lasagna for dinner and then along with DH and DS18 we all played Quelf.

I'm REALLY going to hate to see them go today!!

DS18 also came home from school with a rash ~ took him to the doc and he has strep/scarlet fever!

I'm teaching JA to kindergartners at 1:00 and hope to get a walk in soon.

BBL!

Sounds like a great day MK. What is JA?

I work at the church office for a few hours today and then really need to tackle my house. It's feeling very neglected lately. I need to do another major cleaning and purging. Oh joy!

Morning!

Sandy, yes, that is how my house looks, neglected!!!

Also wondering what JA is.

That sounds like a great book Carolyn, I need to go look that up on Amazon. Thanks Cindy for giving us kitty lovers a good read.

Well, I am going to the Dr. at 11:00. About 3 weeks ago a bump popped up under my left eye, never went away and finally a few days ago I started kind of massaging it, then would get sinus drainage down the back of my throat, so I guess it is a sinus cavity that is all swollen but it is getting worse and I have never seen anything like this, so, must go have it checked out. This morning the swelling is even into the corner of my eye and eyelid, so very cute looking. Will report back later on that cute little thing.

Have to take DGS to get his allergy shot at 4:00, then meet a friend for dinner.

Hi..and good morning.

Shower meeting over..No one drank the coffee..so I have a whole pot to myself.

MK: How fun to have your "kids" to lunch..Is his gf going to visit her parents now?
Prayers for a speedy recovery for your son...Glad he got it diagnosed.

Buffy: Get that swelling down..Allergies are everywhere here..Everyone is sniffling and sneezing. Dh took some allergy meds last night and no snoring..

Purging is a good thing with clothes that I don't wear..I need to do that soon.

Dh might be going to Ireland next week on business..He always takes aspirin, so he is all set..

I wonder if you're on a regular aspirin regimen if you should up your intake when you're flying, riding, etc for long periods. I bet Cindy will know.

No need to up. That regimen of taking it a couple of days is for the non-aspirin user like me. I'm so accident prone that I have bruises all over when I take aspirin on a regular basis.

Morning Everyone!
Gosh, a lot to catch up on...you ladies are so busy!

I'm SO happy to hear that baby Colton is doing well. Yay!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend passing away Carolyn. So young.

It sounds like you all are getting lots of family time. That's Great! I miss my family SO MUCH!

MK-Maybe you can drop the gf off for some shopping or something so you and DS can have some one on one time? She might like some alone time.

Buffy-Any news on the eye? It does sound maybe allergy related?

I was laughing about the back and forth snore struggles. My DH and I have been through that too. He snores way louder than me but I am a sounder sleeper so it doesn't usually bother me. He bought me Snore Stop but I never used it b/c I said I would only use it if he would! LOL!

I loved the book suggestions and definitely want to read Homer's Odyssey. I adore animals.

So I am doing pretty well, still losing, hooray! Down at least 12 lbs. My "comfy" jeans are now crazy baggy and starting to fall down some. My "tight" jeans are now my "comfy" ones. LOL! Got a kitchen scale to be more precise with my protein. Log my weight and my food into ****** religiously. Have been super busy with some Spring cleaning. Washed up all the snow suits, coats, hats, gloves, etc. and packed it all away. Have also washed all the rugs and most of the comforters. Trying to organize the garage. That kind of thing. We have no closets here and still don't quite have space for all of the clothes but I have vowed to get it all organized...just in time for the movers to come, lol! Catching up on the laundry today.

DST is this weekend here. Not looking forward to it!

About to make my 1st order from netrition. Some S/F candy for Easter and s/f syrups. Any other must have items from there I should know about?

Weather has been beautiful and sunny here, still pretty cold in the morning but warm by the afternoon. I'm lovin' it!

That's all I got!
Have a great day!

~Ali

Ok, so DH's birthday is this weekend and I wanted to make him a cake but something I could eat too. He is diabetic though doesn't eat like it, however I figure if I am making the cake not only do I want some, lol, I will not make something bad for him either. So anyway...was looking around and found 1 cup of Splenda has:
24 grams of carbs!
I know you ladies probably knew this. Is that correct? That works out to 1.5g per Tbsp. I knew it had some but holy cow. I just grabbed the only bag they had at the store, which of course was the big one, which I am now stuck with. Sigh. My thought process was maybe it was 1 carb per Tbsp at most but that still only would add up to 16 carbs per cup. Why doesn't it just SAY 0.5g per tsp not <1gm? Ugh! Frustrating. I will probably still use it so I can be rid of it sooner. Planned to make some icing with it too. Is there a carb free sweetener that works well for baking? I'd likely have to order it but it would be worth it.
Thanks!

Morning!
Great to hear from you Ali and sounds like you have been super busy as well. Carolyn is our best LC baker, she might have a cake recipe for you and I know there are a lot in the recipe forum.

Dr. said I had a sinus infection so gave me steroids and an antibiotic but said if all was not well in 7-10 days he would send me on to an ENT Doctor. Said to start the steroids immediately to help with the inflamation and swelling. So, I did, could not sleep at all last night and blood sugar is very high due to the steroids, and, swelling under eye just as bad. But, I will give it several more days and see how it goes. Now, I feel pretty bad, from lack of sleep, high BS and the infection.

I am still going to pick up my old HS friend who is in town from Colorado, haven't seen her in years and I told her I was a little under the weather but nothing contagious so I am going to take her to lunch, visit some this afternoon and make a short day of it. Hopefully, I will sleep well tonight and feel a lot better tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on the aspirin intake Cindy, I was wondering the same thing. I also bruise easily so wouldn't want to take it on a regular basis then.

Carolyn, can you go on some of these trips with Gary? On your dollar? I would enjoy some of the places he travels to I think. I am really looking forward to my trip to London with DD#2, wish the other two DD's could go along, one of them is thinking about it.

Hi ladies..

Nice to see you Ali..Okay, the fact that there are 24 carbs in Splenda is that
there is a filler in there that is carby..I order liquid splenda from ebay and you only use a little bit and there are no carbs involved.. However, use up
your Splenda..and don't sweat it..Sometimes I combine erythritol with Splenda for a good sweetness...You can check on the Recipe Board..There
are some great cake recipes there..

I was surprised that JA started with little ones..I always thought it was for
highschool kids..I'm out of the loop, I guess..

Prayers for your "eye" and that the steroids will kick in. Maybe you will get
big muscles after your treatment..LOL..No, seriously, I am hoping and praying that all will be well in a couple of days, Buffy.

I never travel with Gary on business, except one time when we met him in
Germany after the convention was over. It would be on my nickel and it would mean getting up at 5 a.m and sitting in the car all day while he drives
to meetings..Way not fun at all..I have to think of something he can bring me
from Ireland..He rarely shops..rarely..Maybe he can find some tea or wool..
I'm such a simple girl..LOL.. London is fun... but expensive.. Be sure to take advantage of the tours..

Was 153 after breakfast today..Did my exercise, went to Wallies, ate a McDouble without the bun for lunch. Dh has to renew his international
driver's license, so we get to go to Bartlesville..and go out for dinner..

It's all about food, isn't it?

Buffy - I'm glad you went to the doc!
I hope you get better quickly!!

Carolyn - I teach them about the different coins and their values, we read stories about selling craft items at a fair and how many different ways there are that make 25 cents . . . .
It's fun for them and gets them to think about saving money as well as spending it!
It's only 5 weeks, so neither one of us gets bored.

Oh..Sandy..I hate the upset tummy thing. I do think something is going around..everywhere. Take care of yourself. I use an acid preventer in the a.m.
before food and it helps if my tummy is upset for more than a day or so..

Zantac is what helped me alot.

I've been popping those the last few days thinking it would pass. That's why I think it might be a little bug. Hopefully gone by tomorrow.
