Ali - you can buy them online. I found some in a store about 30 minutes from here. I think if you Google them, they'll tell you where they're available.

Gorgeous day - I took a long walk!

Carolyn - better keep that recipe to yourself!

That's adorable! I love ME's stuff.
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I am going to cut back on the bacon, only have it on weekends. That would help with sodium, too.
I am going to experiment with the CO bark today...TOM is coming and I am needing some chocolate! I stirred some unsweetened cocoa into my coffee this am...so far so good!

Massage for me and then just odds & ends unless the rain/storms force me back home to watch DVR'd stuff, lol. And of course, our fav Mexican place tonight. My DD & family will be back tomorrow afternoon. I saw them at one of our favorite restaurants last night on a live Web Cam. It was so cool, but it sure did make me miss them all even more.

I walked this morning - 2.6 miles again - and just cleaning today.
Tomorrow we have church and then dinner out with girlfriends.
Sunday, DD27 and I are going to the IL Product Expo for my favorite mustard, salsa, and hopefully make some new favorites!

Hi ladies,

I love ME, too..

Well, my soninlaw Shawn got a long anticipated promotion at his bank.. I'm sure he is
very happy that they acknowledged his hard work. We are proud of him..

Did my exercise, got my McD's coffee, went to Walgreen's for some Red Krill Oil..big day..

I just experimented with a LC bagel recipe from Maria E's lowcarb site. I'll let you know
if it is any good..

Ali: Portion control on the CO stuff..(from my experience). COil was made to replace
the other fats in our diet, which can't really happen in my case...But, I use it to cook
with and make the bark..

Sandy: Glad your family is having fun in Mexico..How cool to see them on the WebCam.

MK: Good exercising today..Glad you are better, too.

I'm totally in love with A Touch of Frost on the Instant Netflix..I watch a show a day..
I started with Season one, so I will know what happens..He's great.

Oh, what's that about? I stream Netflix on my iPad at work. Just finished Paranormal Activity 2 (a disk) last night. Had all the doors locked and the alarm on!!

Off to ski tomorrow in Whistler British Columbia, about 4 hours from Vancouver. I will be gone a week and will take my iPad so I'll keep in touch. I'm taking a camera that I haven't downloaded pics to the computer before so may have to download the disk when I get back. Pray for me because I just lost the weight I gained in the Dominican!!

Howdy Ladies!
Happy Saturday!
I decided not to make the CO bark for that very reason. Made some cheese almond thins instead. VERY tasty but I know they have a possibility of portion control issues too. My batch made a ton...like 150 crackers, and I tried out a couple in stick form, too. Was thinking I could pipe them onto the sheet and it would be easier to guess a portion. I had these (the ones I had to "taste" the batch) and spinach for dinner to balance it out. Made some almond meal pancakes for breakfast...super!

I have done OK cutting back the protein but now have to tweak the fat down some. ****** really is great. I know I have been overdoing the protein.
Quick question: I have had my gallbladder out, and also have hypothyroidism, on medicine for though (due to get yearly tests soon). I have seen vague references to both of these on here. How does that affect my being on this WOE?

Headed out to the nature park with the family today. It is gorgeous and warm here today, high 40's. Plan to walk at least 3k but hoping to talk the fam into the 5k trail. We'll see! We aren't big walkers but I'm trying to turn that around.

Have a great day everyone!

I forgot to congratulate Shawn! Woohooo for him. That's great.

We had storms yesterday afternoon. At one point our deck was covered with tiny gravel-sized hail! This has sure been a crazy year for weather.

The dogs all woke me up early. It will be nice to be back to only 1 in the morning.

Do you all realize DST starts next Sunday???? Wow, we hardly live on real time at all anymore. I wonder why they ever even change back?

Ali - I'll let the ones that know about thyroids deal with that question!
And yes - keep walking!

Sandy - DST - already?!

I just booked my flight to Aspen to visit DD24 the week before Easter!
I'm excited!!
Though I haven't flown forever - how hard is it going to be?

Hi ladies..

I just survived taking my "sweet" Alex for his bloodwork and it wasn't a pretty site. He was very upset and was lashing out verbally at the vet and his helper.. But, we all
survived..You know animals are very, very strong for their weight, even chubby kittehs.

Ali: You and I are twins on the no gallbladder and the hypothyroidism..I think Sandy is
hypo as well as Cindy..Not sure about Buffy, though.. But I can easily overdose on fat cuz I love it so much. Most peeps without GB's don't have a problem with fat..if a person does, then Barry says to space your fat out during the day. It is hard to lose
weight when you are hypo..The diet has to be perfect and tweaked to fit your metabolism..So glad you are here..

DUH..DST?? I forgot what that was.

Flying is easy and fun..Will you go from St. Louis? I think you have to have any liquids
in a plastic bag if you are carrying them on....Sometimes you have to pay for your
luggage separately. What airline are you flying on?

Hugs all around..

Oh..big games for KU and MU and KSU today.

The vet called..Alex's blood work is about the same as last summer, which is great..His little kidneys are doing their job thanks to his special food and medication..

Checking in, home for 24 hours.
Just caught up on all the news, Sandy, prayers for the new baby.

Busy, fun week so far with the 2 grandbabies, thank heavens for the 2 nanny's, 1 comes during the day, the other from 5-8 and on weekends. Seems like a lot of help but with a 1 year old and a 2 year old, lots of help is needed. Makes it so fun for me, just enjoy them but none of the hard work, unless like one night, Ava decided to be up from 2-5, getting a new tooth. DD is loving London so much she is talking about booking a trip for her and I in May!!! I said yes, yes, yes, so we will see if it works out.

Going to see Jay Leno tonight with DH, then later tomorrow I will go back to DD's house, then will be back here on Monday. DS and DDIL just asked if I could come and stay some in April when she goes back to work, her mom is going to be regular babysitter and has a trip planned, so of course I said yes, I want to get there and spend some more time with the new little one. Whew, being a Grandma is not for sissy's, LOL.

Carolyn, I would like your MIL's coffee cake recipe, I like to have something like that for when I have friends by for coffee, etc. Can't have too many great recipes.

Hi gals..

Dh liked flying Frontier as he says there is more leg room..Of course, our tiny MK won't really need that..

It's cold, but sunny today..Not much going on other than church, lunch, and small group.
I did my ironing..for dh.

Oh..DST..is this next weekend??

And they have TV!! Which sure helps on long trips.

I woke up to a phone call that Dad went to the hospital in an ambulance. He's still there overnight to monitor his heart. He might need a pacemaker or some meds changed. He's never had any heart problems before so I hope it's just a medicine thing. I sure wish this wasn't all happening right now with the new baby probably going to arrive Tuesday. Never a dull moment around here, I guess, lol.

Hi..

Oh..Sandy, is your dad on a new medication? Good thing they are checking him out.
New baby..tomorrow.. You are indeed the "sandwich" generation..Parents on the top,
kids/grandkids on the bottom and you in the middle..

Anyone watch Dr. Taubes on Dr. Oz? It was a typical negative review of Dr. T and lowcarbing..Dr. Oz is such a know it all..LOL..

DS18 was off school today for Casimir Pulaski Day!

Yes, it's a real holiday. It's celebrated in Illinois on the first Monday of March because Chicago supposedly has more Polish people than Warsaw. Anyway . . . .
