Mom Day went OK. And it's still frigid here!
It may get up into the 30's by Sunday!

Cindy - Poor Rose! I'm glad you took her to the vet!

Carolyn - I wish ours was just fluffy. We have had ice since the 2nd big storm, and it's gotten old.

Buffy - have a great time with your kids!!!

Meeting tonight with the parish council.
See you all tomorrow.

I've invited Barbo to come over..She is a wonderful cook...and a very sweet person.

We are supposed to warm up a little bit tomorrow..Hopefully, some of the snow on the driveway will melt.

Poor Rose..but she looks like she is enjoying life between antibiotics..No wonder she wasn't eating.. Big kitty hugs to her.

MK: Did you take your mom out? or just visit???

Hellooo girls and Ms. Kitty

Always seeing that Carolyn is in a challenge, I was curious enough to
ask her about it. So here I am.

My stats are: 225 - 150, then 140 ten lbs. due to illness

Now starting Jan 2, 2011 170 lbs. Feb 1st, 165.5
I need to weigh about 125 or less. I am not very tall.

Started 225 and lost 75 lbs. doing LC on my own with the exception
of going daily onto LCF board. Learned so much from you all.

Was ill for two years and dropped to 140 and then slowly as I
began to get better I started gaining and I was not on LC as I
couldn't digest much of anything. Now after holidays I saw that
30 lbs. had crept up on me DH and I decided Jan 2 would be the
weigh in day to assess the damages and LC Atkin's induction would
be the program. Weight losses have slowed down, I even had
a one lb. gain and then lost that. Certainly am open to help
with diet plan, I have diabetes and need to keep low but as
Carolyn said, I may have too high a protein intake. Our carbs
are 30 per day or less, probably less.

Thanks C. for inviting me in.

Thanks Carolyn and Cindy

Glad you liked some of my recipes. Love to cook.
I think one of the first recipes I tried from this board was
Carolyn's Raspberry Crumb Coffee Cake. I loved it and it's
one of my favorite sweets.

Carolyn - she only goes out for doc appts.
I did get her to get her nails trimmed with the manicurist and painted too!

Tomorrow - spin at 8:30 and then I'm in for the rest of the afternoon.

Until we go out to dinner - for the 3rd time in 3 days!
Then to see 127 Hours.
Anyone seen it?

MK, I have not seen it but it is getting so many nods from the Academy, I need to.

Carolyn, there was a question on dryness of the black bean cake on that thread in the recipe area. Mine was NEVER even close to dry. Have you noted that? Someone posted the cutest dang pics of black bean cupcakes on that thread so go over and take a peak. Now I need to make some!!

Hi ladies..

Oh...black bean cupcakes. I need to go look..Dryness? Maybe they baked it too long..
Cindy: Have a wonderful trip.

My dd saw 127 hours..She said it was intense, but good.

Glad your mom only goes out to the doctor's office..We stopped taking Betty to
WalMart when her walking got so wiggly..She got her hair done at the assisted living place..

I love that Raspberry Almond Cake, too.. I try to keep only one sweet at a time at my house..LOL..Barbo.

I was 152.0 this morning...I would love to see the 150 mark. Dh is coming home tonight..I think he can make it through the snow in the driveway..LOL.

I thought she might have over baked them too.

My FT3 came down from 3.9 (upper limit is 4.4) to 3.1 on the same dose in the dead of winter so there is something to your theory. I am now on 3 grains instead of 2. I could tell something was wrong but when your on BHRT,it can be anything!!

Cindy: I'm on BHRT, too. Pam says that if you are on that, your T3 needs to be high on the scale (not the 2/3rds), so you probably need more..If 3 is too much, you can always
chop a pill in half.

Sad news for the Recipe peeps..KevinPA died...

OMG, Carolyn, that is so sad!! I was under the impression he was not that old! I will go over there and see what happened! Any idea what happened? I always assumed his Avi was his daughter but it could have been his grand daughter.

Hey gals, hellooo

Spent my morning in Splash, (water aerobics class) I go MWF 9-11 a.m.
Then usually go do marketing or errands My weight was disappointing.
Still the same. I don't workout for 2 hours, but by the time I shower
and dress it's always 11.

When I got home there was a letter in my email to the effect that
Kevin had passed away. Was very saddened by that news.
He was so generous with all of us at LCF. He will be missed. That
little girl is his grandaughter. He also had a wife and darling pets.
He was an avid gardener and introduced me to delicata squash,
which he grew in abundance. He left us so many recipes and
ideas.

Have a pot of soup that I have not named
It's a big old ham bone, spicy sausage, black soy beans,
green beans, chayote cubed (potatoes) for low carbers,
cubed red ripe bell pepper, one small red onion and herbs/spices.
Oh I forgot about the kale from the garden. That is our dinner,
and if my DH wants more I have left over meat loaf in the fridge.

The recipe that I posted recently for Ricotta Spinach Balls, is
a Tuscan recipe and so very good. Several of the gals tried
it and loved it. Do you have recipes from Tuscany? Share please

Morning!

Loved the movie last night (though i watched part of it through my fingers).
Besides that it was amazingly good - even DH liked it more than he thought!

Going to see The Tempest today with a GF since DH went to the basketball game at Mizzou.

Good news! It's already 28°!!

Sandy - we're melting the snow - just for you!

Hi ladies..

Welcome back, Sandy.. I think the snow is melting a bit today.

MK: I love The Tempest..enjoy it.. Glad you liked the movie.

Barbo: I'm making beef soup with my usual ingredients..broth, cabbage, canned diced tomatoes, tomato juice, celery, onion, and a few carrots. I threw in a bay leaf and
some beef stew meat cut into small pieces. I think the beef needs to cook a bit longer, though.

I tried to find Kevin's obit on-line but couldn't find it as I don't know if Kevin was his real name, but I know he lived near Pittsburgh, PA..So very sad.

Hi!! I'm almost back to normal, lol. Whatever that is. We went to church this a.m. then out to eat with Dd and Dsil. Then took the pupster on a little walk aaround the neighborhood. She loved that and is so happy to have her people back home.

I'm going to try to focus on getting back to good eating habits and my workouts. I'm sure it'll be a struggle to end my vacation mentality.

Hi,

A happy valentine's day to all my favorite LC girls..Anyone have fancy plans??? or simple
plans??

Sandy: You can get back on track, but after such a great vacation, I'm sure it will be hard..

MK: What a great day here..46 now and the snow banks are melting.

Did a WW call this morning, then did some errands..I'm tired..

Talked to Brett yesterday and he has a girlfriend..This is good news..She is a jr.
at Friends U and lives with her parents. Her cousin is Brett's good friend..
He had been girlfriendless for 4 years..So, this is good news.

I was only up about 3# at the most so if I get serious I know I can get it right back off. This week isn't looking good so far for seriousness, lol.

Weather is wonderful here too. I just took Bailey for a walk and she was begging me to slow down. I guess I'm not the only one who's gotten a bit out of shape, haha.

I went and toured Lifetime Fitness this a.m. It looks very nice but I felt very intimidated. I don't know whether I'll join or not. I'd really like to get into some yoga or stretching and they have lots of classes for that. Plus spinning, zumba, etc. And no contracts. Decisions decisions.

No big plans here. We had our V-day dinner on the beach Friday night so tonight is P. Murphy's pizza. The delite crust one. And I got DH SF Hershey's candy. I got jewelry on vacation and he left me a beautiful card this a.m.

Good for Brett!! Did you tell him he could've waited a few days and saved some $$? Lolol.
