Ok, girls. Sorry I'm so late to check in. Busy busy getting ready for my trip. I plan on watching the KU/KSU game tomorrow night in an open air bar in shorts!! And I do hope KU doesn't disappoint.
My weight this a.m. was 146.4 so I think I'm down a little from the 1st. Of course I'm sure I'll have a nice gain after vacation. I'll have my laptop but don't know how much I'll actually check in. Time gets away from me on vacation. Pray for me and I'll talk to you all soon.

Oh...
Prayers for Buffy's tummy flu..I HATE throwing up so much.. Sandy: I forgot when you were leaving..Have a wonderful time..Is it Mexico??? Be careful. I'm sure the Jayhawks will win..Yeah for your loss.. Newsflash on menopause and carbs...This is from a podcast with Jackie E..(Atkins' nurse) and Jimmy Moore. She said that since her menopause she has had to get to induction levels of carbs to maintain her weight loss..It's all about hormones.. Dh made it home from NH where the snowbanks were very, very high to balmy 60 degree KS..for a day or two anyway.. Cindy: You know..I was reading that in the winter we need more thyroid meds, so I'm giving myself 3 1/2 split and see what happens.

I was just thinking I need to check my levels. I will do it next week. I'm on 2 grains but my issue was starting hormones. My thyroid was fine before that which may be why I need less.

Morning.
Still feel yucky but it should pass by tomorrow. Sandy, I missed your plans for vacation but I know you and it will be somewhere sunny with a beach, have a wonderful time. The King's Speech is very good, try to see it if possible. Thought I would feel better today than I do, was hoping it was just a 24 hour thing but I am really achy and so very tired. The tummy part is better though. Headache now and my eyes burn, not sure what is up with that? Was supposed to have 2 of the grandson's spend the night but those plans had to change. At least I have lost a lb and 1/2 being sick, now if I can get it to stay away, haha.

Hi ladies..
I think "everything" hurts when you have the flu..tummy..or whatever. Hope you are better soon, Buffy..It's a bad way to lose weight, though. Hmm..Cindy, I am on hormones, too..so it is a balance with thyroid and hormones. I'll be anxious what your levels are "in the winter".. My coffee roaster caught on fire.. Luckily, it was out in the garage on top of the chest freezer and I had the garage door open..What a stink..I had to pitch it and will be looking for another one. I really never liked it and it was hard to really clean (thus the fire, I suppose). I'm sure dh will notice the smell..But, I grilled about 8 burgers for the week/lunches..I ate one and froze the rest. It is a beautiful day here. |

I had shrimp soup at a Mexican restaurant (it's shrimp and broth) and thought, "Oh, boy, this is a tad salty.I'll see it tomorrow." Yep, up 3 pounds which took 48 hours to resolve.

Hi ladies..
I meant NOT a big fire.. If you can taste the salt, you are going to gain. Honestly, my mom never salted anything when we grew up and I don't like salt much. Dh is another breed..He salts watermelon.. Tuesday is Feb. 1st..Any new names for the month??? |

Morning.
MK, quick watching food, known to put on lbs. I always salt watermelon and put pepper on muskmelon. Salt on tomoatoes. I feel much better today, really wasn't sick yesterday but felt like a wrung out dishrag. House is a mess, office is a mess, I hadn't really gotten caught up from being gone on the cruise and then being sick, I have work to do. DD#1 is coming to visit on the 11th so that she can see her new nephew, so I get her for one full day and her sisters get her for one full day and then off she goes back home. We never get enough time with her. Off to put the bedding in the washer. Have a great day everyone. |

Hi friends..
Okay..Cupid's Cuties' Challenge it is tomorrow... Amidst the snow. Oh..I loved Blind Side so much..What a great family, huh? I'm so into mystery books, I need to get out of that stack and read some other good ones, so I'm taking notes. Big snow tonight and tomorrow..My exercise friend was going to drive to Tyler, TX on Thursday for grandparents' day at her dgd's school, but she is going to cancel. She is in her 70's and would be driving alone..Not a good thing, if you TX peeps are getting snow, too. No snow yet, but some mist..but it's not that cold, so it is not freezing..Just filled up the birdfeeder.. |

DH even warned me of bad weather coming and he always says it is going to miss us, even if it is headed right for us, LOL.
I need to watch the weather channel. I just dloaded Sarah's Key, it looks very good. I love a good mystery Carolyn, any recommendations? I kind of got burnt out on the usual authors and need some good ideas. I have been listening to audible books on my iphone in my car, love it. Have a makeup/skincare/etc. event to go to tonight, so will hit the grocery store first to stock up on anything we might need in the next couple of days, then go to that. Then look forward to hibernation for a couple of wintry days, few and far between in TX. |

Cindy - it finally left!! Phew.
Thanks for the help! Official weight for the end of January is 119.4! I think I lost 1.4 since January 3! I just finished The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and my new author is Kate Morgan. I'm trying to read more of hers. I like MC Beaton too! As well as dozens of others. Let me know if you need a new author! |
