Morning peeps.
MK, you are awesome in your devotion to exercise, and I just wish it would rub off on me, I would be in such better shape, as you are now. Sandy, yes men always need a mother, girlfriend, wife, someone to steer them, I swear they just don't ever grow up in some areas. Carolyn, Schwan's has been around for a good many years so probably will be a good company to work for. How far is Salina from you? Nice to have him not too far away too. I haven't talked to our niece all week, shot her an email last night to see how she is doing. Imagine she is quite busy as she started her new job on Wed. Off to the Dr. this morning to have blood checked again for a low potassium reading, the other lab results were all great, the best they had been for quite some time so was really happy about that.

Morning!
DDalmost27 left for the airport in Bloomington at 5:00am - for her 6:00am flight that hasn't taken off yet!! She'll definitely miss her connecting flight in Detroit . . . but will get to DC eventually. I REALLY want to start cleaning up the family room, but will try to resist. Laundry going. Have to be at the swim meet at noon!! |

Hi Girls! I stop by and read here but often don't post unless I have something to say. I'm on a bacon kick right now. Bacon fried with 6 egg whites that have been hard boiled and the yolk removed. Boy, talk about filling.
We are off to Vail to ski in the morning. I am hoping for a good ski pic to use a winter Avi to give DC17 a rest! Hopefully no broken bones. Will take my new iPad so hopefully checking in. |

Hi everyone,
We made it back safe and sound..I do think Brett will like Salina..It's a very nice place with shopping and a Red Lobster..etc. and a Target. His apartment is a good sized one and he has a tiny bedroom and an extra room for his computer stuff..LOL. He will get organized this week. Of course, it needed some cleaning so I bought some cleaning supplies and let him do it this week. LOL.. Oh, Cindy..be careful of the snow coming your way as you drive to CO..Be safe and we want a picture..Is dbf going? MK: I forgot what dd27ish was doing? Is she is school or working? I need to organize the res of the stuff Brett left behind and put it in the storage room.. Off to church in a little while..It will be weird without Brett as he has been here since August, but it is a really good thing for him..

Hi gang,
Oh..Wow..smart dd27.. No more swim meets, MK? They must have had senior day today. I called Brett to make sure he was okay..He was grocery shopping at WalMart and had to learn where things were cuz they were different than our Wallie here. LOL. The Target isn't a super one, so Wallie is best place to get cheaper food. They have a Dillons, too. We stopped the truck last night at the Dillons near Wichita to load up on Carbmaster yogurt. Well, I got the carrot cake version and was dying to try it..Not so good in my opinion..Anyone try that? Anyone getting snow???? |

![]() Carolyn - no senior night - he'll make a speech at the banquet at the end of the year. Dillons must be like Kroger - that's where I'd find CarbMaster - though I've never tried it. I usually eat Fage or Light & Fit. No snow here either - just REALLY cold! Probably too cold to snow! |

Morning!
Woke up to a cold pretty morning here, snow still on the ground, it seldom lasts here even if it does snow due to how warm it usually is, but we will have cold weather most of the week so some of it will stick around, where it should, on the grass but not on the roads. Glad Brett got moved in, our little intern is loving her move here to Dallas and living in the big city and liking all the new people she is meeting at work. Today I get to go be a blank canvas for a group that is taking training on Jane Iredale cosmetics, they are going to be selling it and have to have training first and I volunteered my naked face for them to practice on, I am sure they would have preferred a younger face, but mine is free to practice on so they said to come on. I figured I would learn some tricks too and get to see some different colors so why not. This is for the nurse who did my injections and filler. Also, going to do a little shopping before I do that to further getting ready for my cruise. I need a very light wrap to put around my shoulders in the evenings for dinner when I dress up, I think the ones I have are all too heavy as I mostly use them just in the winter. Anyone who has cruised and has any tips, please send them my way, I am a first timer. Office work piled high due to being with little Oliver last week and my house is a mess, so I have a busy week ahead. Dropped 2 of the Christmas week lbs that jumped on, so I am glad of that. My sis and cousin in Iowa were both getting lots of snow over the weekend. MK, bet Aspen is beautiful this time of year, have fun out there Cindy. Hi Cindy. |

Hi ladies,
My scale was not happy this morning...Too many carbs over the weekend, so I'm really back on track (is this a broken record?).. We got 3 inches of snow and it looks like it is stopping.. Sandy: Is it snowing now in KCity? No cruise here, but have lots of fun. I get seasick so I am thinking I will avoid one for a while. I'm sure you can google cruise tips, Buffy, and they will send you lots of information. Glad you dropped 2 pounds..Yipee.. MK: Senior year can be sad sometimes, but I don't think you will miss those swim meets too much. Glad your ds improved his time, though..Must be those muscles.. Our Ava is one already..We really do need a picture of her, don't we girls? Exercised this morning and ran around doing errands. Funeral tomorrow for a man in our church. His wife is in our Bible Study..He was 83 and she is about 10 years younger. Poor guy was blind and lost a leg from diabetes.. ![]() |

Good morning ladies and sweet Ava..
Buffy, what a darling little one year old. You are so blessed to have so many grandchildren.. How much snow did KCity get? and other areas? We only got 3 inches, but it is very cold. Lots of schools in the area are closed, except for ours. Now we have to determine if we are having bible study this afternoon and if the parking lot at church is too icy...Lots of older ladies go and we don't want any broken bones. I have a funeral to go to, but I might wear boots with my slacks..Kinda snow boots.. No one looks at my feet..I hope. Oranges aren't terrible, better than a Snickers bar. I have to weigh and see if any of that weight left the building..LOL... Keep warm ladies and kisses to Ava. |

We ended up with about 6-7" and now it's cold!! Ten degrees right now. I think I'll try to stay in again today or at least until later this afternoon.
Buffy, Ava is beautiful!!!! I'm struggling with some leftover effects of last weekend too. And being stuck in the house doesn't help! I'm making your brisket recipe today Carolyn. Yum!! |

Morning
Yes, we adore our little Ava, or Aba as her 2 year old brother calls her. I am truly blessed with my wonderful family, we are all close, they truly fill my life with happiness. I think I am getting rested up, man, it is a cycle of go, go, go, hit the wall, recuperate, then again and again. When does it slow down??? Picked up a couple of pairs of capris at Chico's yesterday, now need to start laying stuff out to decide what to take on my cruise. It is cold here, very unusual for us but pretty and sunny out. A little of our snow has stuck to the roofs and bushes, it is pretty when it isn't on the roads, or in our way, haha. I have a roast thawing to fix for tonight, that along with some butternut squash, either going to roast that or might try the cutting it into fries and baking it. I keep reading about that and wondering if I can cut it up without cutting myself. Laundry pile is overflowing the hamper so better get started on that. |

Hi gang,
Dh was supposed to leave for Atlanta this afternoon, but they rescheduled the flight for 5:30 a.m...So, he is staying in Wichita. I'm betting that 5:30 flight will be cancelled, too. They don't tell you that far in advance cuz they don't know. I plugged in my Active 2 with a heart monitor on it..My top range is 140 beats I think. I really feel it when it gets that high..Anyone else??? I'm sure our spinner gets way up there, too. Oh...capris sound perfect for a cruise..I think the rule is not to take tons of clothes because there isn't alot of space for them, but just a variety..Besides, Buffy you will be living in your swimsuit anyway, right??? Yup, KC got smacked with snow. Beth got home early from UMKC, but it looks like they went today. I'm so glad you like that brisket recipe..It is my very favorite..I forget to buy brisket..When Brett graduated I made a ton of it..sort of, then cooked it sliced it and froze it in baggies..Then heated it up with the sauce. I got some Monin Sugar Free Chocolate syrup from Netrition..This is really good tasting chocolate stuff..I drizzle it on whipped cream in my coffee. Hey, I was down this morning from my carb loaded weekend.. Hugs all around. Last edited by CarolynF; 01-11-2011 at 10:13 AM.. |

I hope I'm perfect this week too!
Day 2 of protein with a little fruit. I've shoveled the driveway and walk twice already. Gone to the gym, store, gas station and hopefully home for good! I was going to make the pumpkin sausage soup, but forgot mushrooms . . . . So maybe tomorrow! If I can find some tofu shirataki noodles in the downstairs refrigerator, we'll have pasta tonight. Otherwise I'll just eat the sauce and meatballs. |

Sauce and meatballs in a casserole with some cheese on the top is a wonderful meal..
We have no sidewalks and the snow is melting on our driveway. Time to dye my hair..I get a haircut tomorrow and I want to make sure I get all the grey covered or my hairdresser "makes" comments..LOL |

I'd wait until after my haircut and then tell her you're coloring tomorrow.
Or I'd tell her I don't worry about what I can't see; only the gray I see bothers me. ![]() |

I was thinking about waiting and have done it before, but it is pretty bad. I put alot of coloring on it and hope I didn't miss a spot..I might miss in the back from time to time.
