BTW, I'm officially sick of candy!!!

Buffy, that sounds like a wonderful place to have a baby! How personal! And I'm sure they are just delighted with their new little Christmas addition. It's so nice your son will be off the next couple of weeks.

I used to have a horse in my youth!!! But now only ride very occasionally on a vacation. When I can whine enough to get DH to go on a trail ride with me. He's never liked horses. Don't ask how we ever got together. He didn't even know how to act around a horse!! And he's a country boy too. Lolol.

I have a lot of last minute things to do today and not wanting to do any of them, but I must, so I'll TTYL.

Morning!
Wow, gals, some great posts to respond to.
First of all, SANDY, that candy dish is IMPRESSIVE! I have made a lot of candy over the years and many kinds but I don't think I was ever able to put together that pretty of an assortment! WOW. It all looks sooo good too. Bet your family and friends LOVE it.

Steph, you have had two great places to live, I love Colorado and now San Antonio is one of the better places to live in TX. Afraid I got thrown twice when I was a kid and that was at a friend's house, so I have always been kind of afraid of horses, but I do think they are magnificent animals, so beautiful.

MK, glad you little cozy nest is filling up, I know you love all your kids around you and enjoy it before you have to start sharing them with in-laws, etc. I am going to have 2 of mine here the day after Christmas with their families but DS won't be coming with baby just being a couple of weeks old and DD in NE only comes every few years now at holidays. But, she is flying down in February to see the new addition to the family so we will have a good visit then.

Carolyn, hope Santa gets your "surprise" gift wrapped and under your tree soon, LOL. I put up a little fiber optic tree and last night DH put a little wrapped gift under it. We decided not to give each other big gifts this year so I think it is some kitchen gadget as he was looking for the BedBath and Beyond coupon one day. I got him a new bathrobe.

I have 1 gift left to buy today. This is for DGS 11 who has Asperger's, so he is somewhat hard to buy for. Very bright and really doesn't play with regular toys, but one of his OCD things is to draw airline routes all over the world, and plot our the flight patterns, the times, etc. So, I saw this black board in the World Market ad that is a map of the world with magnetic airplanes, he can place them at certain spots and draw his routes on it, I think he will like that and then we are also giving him some money towards the batting cage his stepdaddy is building for him. Then, wrap and I am done with that part.

Diabetic doctor tomorrow.

Thanks for the link Carolyn, I will read it later. I have heard of that but his is mild and he is doing great so doubt I could convince DD to try to change his diet. I believe it probably would help though but he really is doing good and is very healthy.

Steph, wow, give your Mom a high 5! 60 lbs is awesome. And good for you for helping her work out.

Gotta go eat, I just got home and it is 8:00 pm but all Christmas shopping is done! Whew!

Morning!
Yes, 60 lbs in a month is astounding. My stepdaughter had gastric and did lose fast but I don't know if it was that fast, but, she lost over 100 and has kept it off for over a year.
As soon as my head stops spinning in complete circles from MK's day, let's see, I have to get my nails done, a pedicure too if I have time, then on to stop by family Dr to get my flu shot and pick up a couple of prescriptions, then on to Whole Foods and to see my diabetes doctor. Usually I fast when I go see him for my blood work but my appt. isn't until 3:15 so they will have to take it non-fasting or do it another time.

Minor little problem with our new baby boy, he is tongue tied and has a tiny little mouth so he is having some feeding issues, but since we are so blessed by the other Grandma being a lactation consultant and author, she has guided them along and they are getting enough milk down hm and Mommy is pumping away. He goes to a specialist on Thurs. where I guess they will fix the problem so soon he will be nursing away just fine. Kind of scary to a new Mom and Dad when he lost too much weight at first but other Grandma knew just what to do, bless her for being there. She will be there with them next week and I will probably go down for a few days next week to help out.

Yes, the frenulum. Look in the mirror and lift your tongue up. That little thingy on the under side of your tongue that looks like a cord attaches your tongue to the floor of your mouth. Babies who have too long of an attachment have it clipped back a tad. Simple 1, 2!

Thanks, Nurse Cindy.. Dh's 79 year old boss (who runs the company) had a mild stroke.
He is in our dinky little hospital..Hopefully, they will move him to KCity or somewhere if they need to..

Brett's interview at the Emporia dog food factory was good, he thought. 2 more to interview and he should know in 2 weeks. He would live in Ogden, UT, but travel to the
different pet food factories 25 percent of the time..

Ok, here you go, my precious little Oliver, less than 2 days old in this picture taken on Saturday.

Thanks Cindy for explaining the tongue tied thing, I wouldn't have known anything about it but I do now. He goes to a specialist on Thurs. and hopefully they can do the little procedure then. They got smaller nipples for the bottles and she is pumping and he is drinking her breast milk, so hopefully soon, he can attach to mommy.

Please pray for my youngest grandson (17). He was in an accident this evening and rolled his jeep about 6 times. He was alone and no other cars were involved and he seems to be ok. Just bruised and shaken up. They're doing a CT scan to make sure so we have granddaughter 12 with us until we hear more news.

Good luck to Brett. That's sure a long way from home though. I guess that's what airplanes are for, right?

Buffy, Oliver is beautiful!! And so is his Mema. Thank goodness for grandmas. I love that saying: Grandmas are just antique moms. So true. Or Grandmas are moms with experience.

Our new momma2B passed her glucose tolerance test today. She's already seeing the Dr. every 2 weeks from now on. Wow, how time is flying. It'll be March before we know it! We're all so excited!

Oh...look at that little sweet Oliver and his beautiful Mema.. His lips are so pink..just
like his Memas...

Sandy, will pray for your dgs..Scarey stuff, but his guardian angel must have been
riding with him. Shawn and Beth rolled his jeep in Wisconsin..Those darned jeeps roll
over so easily. Shawn's back was pretty sore..Keep us posted on him...

Glad your new momma2B passed her glucose test. My friend's dinlaw didn't. She was pretty overweight when she got pregnant, so they are watching her like a hawk.

Carolyn - that's great for Brett. Now good luck with the rest of the interviews!!

Thanks Cindy!! It's so great to have a nurse around!!!

I went to my book club book swap. She had amazing appetizers and we all came home with fun books! Dates stuffed with almonds and wrapped in bacon and broiled!

Morning!

Carolyn - that's what i thought!!

This year we're having hors d'oeuvres for Christmas Eve's dinner (after Mass at 5:30) and our gift for the kids to unwrap will be Quelf!

It was DS21's idea for something we can all play together!

Today is finally a simple day.
Spin at 9:00, grocery store, and home to clean bathrooms and straighten DD24's bedroom.
Oh - and put all the wrapping paper away in the Family room!

I hated setting an alarm this morning since no one had to get up early . . . . but I had to be at spin class, so I did. Ick!

Now I'm wondering if I should do the 90 minute class on Sunday.

Ran back to the store for dates, almonds and pepper bacon for the new appetizer!
Can't wait!!

Now, home, shower, eat lunch and start cleaning!!

Morning!

Sandy, for the CT scan and so glad Mommy2B passed the GTT, that is a relief.

MK, your family just sounds so close and fun, I want to join you guys, LOL.

Carolyn, fingers crossed on Brett's interview.

My niece is moving down here from Iowa over New Year's weekend, her folks are coming down with her to help her bring things. The garage apt. my daughter helped her find is furnished so she won't have to worry about that for the time being.

Little Oliver is doing fine, gained back 6 oz in the past two days so the crisis is over. It is sooo fun to watch and listen to my son, I have never seen him quite like this, what a proud husband and father he is.

Went to diabetic dr. yesterday, my weight was down 8 lbs since last visit, I must have had on jeans or something at that visit b/c I don't think I have lost 8 lbs since then. Took blood but won't get results on that for a couple of weeks so no changes in meds at this time.

Now, should be home pretty much the next couple of days to finish getting ready for Santa.

Cindy,

If you lose weight - it was actual weight!!

Yea her docs said she was ahead of schedule, even they were impressed but combined with the vigorous workout it just fell off, she is lossing steadily now, but man what big difference, she did atkins about 4 years ago but gained it back and really just wanted something permanent is what she says, either way I am happy and proud of my mom!!:-)

Hi gang,

I get up at 6..rather my cat meows at the closed door every morning the same time..He wants to eat..(I give him his medicine in his food, so I like him to eat, too). 90 minutes on Sunday??? you go girl..

Buffy: How fun to have your niece around..She will be loving all those grandbabies and kids. Is the apartment far from you???
8 pounds is a miracle.. I love it..

Steph: Very nommie..however, be sure to use your disposable plastic gloves when you slice and seed them..and don't touch your eyes at any time during this procedure.

I'm exhausted..I think shopping at WalMart and lugging stuff in and out and putting away
should be considered a workout.
