Hi gang,

Dh is in Boston tonight, leaves for Milwaukee at 6 a.m., then is in the airport until 9 at night, then flies to KCity and will stay at a hotel there..He'll be home Friday morning..
(day off from work anyway).

Beth saw Black Swan and liked it..I'll be anxious to see what Sandy says..

On the meds, I am very interested in this "method" of taking my meds. I always split
them ever since I started on the T3/T4 combo, because Pam said to do it that way and it worked for her. As long as I can sleep tonight, I'll be happy.. I took my meds at 7 a.m..

My minlaw would sneak out and have pizza, but Farmer Bill wouldn't touch it.

Oh..prayers for Gary's 78 year old boss..He had his second stroke and is in ICU in Tulsa..

Well, the movie......was very intense and def deserved it's R rating. I was the only one in the bunch who even liked it, the rest of them HATED it. So I don't know whether to suggest it or not??? It was different than I thought it would be, for sure.

I bet Gary is NOT going to ready to party by the time he finally makes it home, huh? Poor guy!

Humm... it would seem like you would be hyper in the am and hypo in the pm but you may sleep better that way.

I just looked it up and Black Swan got 8.7/10 in the reviews from over 20K people so I think my bunch is just weird, lol. Like I said, I liked it so I'm not one of the weird ones, haha.

Hi gals..

I think "artsy" peeps would like The Black Swan..Beth loves different movies and Sandy is rather artsy, too.. I know I wouldn't like it..I watched Date Night..through Netflix..not so good..

Did my meds the same this morning, so we will see how it goes. 3 pills all at once.

Poor dh's boss is really in rough shape.. Work was his life..and I think the stress and strain of it took his tole..

Okay..January? New Year, New You??? I'm open to ideas..

Dh might get home this afternoon depending if the standby works..

Weigh in tomorrow? I am fat.

That's too bad about Gary's boss. It seems like workaholics don't get to enjoy their retirement very long. Which worries me especially b/c my DH is a real workaholic!! I keep thinking I can keep him healthy if I gripe at him enough about what he eats. But I need to be a better example in 2011.

I love that name Carolyn!!

Yup, same with my dh. Dh's boss was near 79 years old and still the CEO of the company.
Talk about a work-a-holic. He was home when he had the first stroke, so they could
get him to the hospital quickly, then transfer him to Tulsa. His wife is so darned sweet..

Thanks..New Year, New You. I need a new me..LOL. or less of me.

Dr. Oz had a good show about losing weight after 40. It seems as though our nice lean
muscle when we had when we were younger, gathers more fat as we age...even if we
eat the same. Just when we can afford to eat out more, the weight comes on.

You have to lift weights to maintain that muscle mass. I lift every other day and seem to be losing about 1/3-1/2 pound a week on 1700 calories a day. I spend maybe 25 min weight lifting every other day.

That is so true..I need to start lifting more than 5 pounds, I guess.

Dr. Oz said the best easy muscle building exercises are planks and squats because those
are the biggest muscles in our body and they can easily get more effective..

Dh is on his way home..around 11:00ish.

P. S. Ever try drinking a mug of hot water? Not bad and no carbs. And, it keeps you nice and toasty.

Drive by Hello!

Company is here, got niece moved into her new apartment and then left them there to get her unpacked and settled. Went out to eat tonight, then they are back at moving, etc. tomorrow and I have some errands to run and have to make a potato salad for DD's NYE party tomorrow evening.

Carolyn, I agree, I feel fat! And just one week ago I hit a new low, grrrrrr. Been eating junk since Christmas day, need to get this stopped. Hoping Sat. will be a return to sanity and lean eating.

DSIL who is here walks for an hour, 4-5 days a week. I need to at least do that and the weights would be a great addition.

DB got moved to new nursing home, now is just very sad because he sees no hope of going home again, just wants to die. His wife tells me "she is doing the best she can" Really? I don't think so.

Enjoying our company, haven't seen them in several years, wow, times goes by way too fast.

Can't believe we are closing out 2010, seems it just began.

BBL, hugs all around....

Looks like Gary's converted you now too. I'll have to give it a try I guess.

We went out with friends last night and my scale jumped up another 2# this a.m. Ugh. I know it's from the margs but still!!!! I'm def showing a gain this month but I think I'll still be in my "bubble" and I'm getting serious, again, for the new year.

Cindy, what's your weight lifting routine? How heavy do you lift? And Carolyn, thanks for the tip about squats and planks. Those are simple to work in. I've been so lax about the gym for the last couple of months it'll almost feel like starting from scratch.

Hi ladies..

I am taking my weight now..153!!! AKKK..Up 3 for December..but January is tomorrow..

I am drinking my cup of hot water now. It is a good way to get water in and not feel
deprived when you are too full of coffee..

I won't talk about the KSU game.. Oh well..there is always basketball today.

My dosing routine is good so far. I will know more how it affects my weight as soon
as I am better with my diet. I don't feel sleepy in the a.m. like I used to. I used to
take 1/2 my thyroid meds at 6, then go back to sleep until 7:30..

Buffy: When my finlaw was in the nursing home, all he wanted to do was to go home.
It was very, very sad. I know we would all feel that way. I doubt that his wife will
visit him very much this winter due to the weather and excuses..There are no easy answers..

Squats are easy to work in, I think. Just got to remember to do them.

No plans except dinner out tonight. Brett should be home from Salina/Manhattan later on this afternoon.

Well, as you all know, I haven't been lax about the gym, but still eating way too much!
I'll have a gain this month, but a loss for the whole year - just not as much as I'd liked!

Carolyn - I had a friend in college who used to drink hot water!
Planks are really good and lunges are too if you get tired of squats!

Buffy - are you walking with your SIL? And I'm so sorry for your DB!!

Cindy - I agree on the weights. I've been doing the TRX bands 2X a week for a while.
It's probably not enough, but it's keeping my muscles tight.
