Very difficult. I'll spare you details but will say BF sobbed. He paid to have her cremated which is so sweet. I stayed with her to the very end. She was having a good day and still had her IV in place from her surgery so no sticks. The decision is the worst part. The procedure was very nice and easy.

Of course, you did the right thing, but it is extremely difficult for sure..I'm sure everyone was sobbing..Horses are so beautiful and she was a beauty and was lucky to have you
two as furparents. You have a very sensitive BF..he's a keeper.. Up early..am I Mary Kay? I haven't weighed yet, but I will. Dh's birthday is tomorrow, but he won't be here, so we are "celebrating" tonight..again..LOL.. Oh..Beth bought 2 Tippins pies. I'm glad we left when we did..I did have 2 tiny slices of each..pecan and strawberry rhubarb. However, I was eyeing the pecan for breakfast, but had my eggs instead. Hope everyone is recovering nicely.

We went to breakfast and then for a 3 mile walk. I was up a little today from the day before Thanksgiving but that's totally understandable. I'm glad all the leftovers are over at DD's house. If we want to eat any of them, we have to make the effort to go over there to eat them. That works quite well.

Cindy, hugs again to you. We've had to put dogs & cats down and it tears me up every time. Buffy, still sending positive thoughts your way and your brothers.
Hello to everyone else. Ive been a lazy girl since Halloween & just dont log on much, no gain YET but totally OFF plan. Been having to use more insulin which Im not happy about. Need to get my dieting rhythm back somehow! I love the Holidays but they really are a stumbling block for me. I did order more coconut oil, so that is a positive step. Hugs to all and hope your Thanksgivings were restful.

Morning everyone!
Finally got rested up, and got most everything put away and unpacked, now just have the office to tackle this week to catch up on paperwork, unopened mail, etc. Thankfully, this is our off-season so there aren't any phone calls to return, I had one while I was away and took care of that. Carolyn, I missed your birthday, I am sorry about that, here is a belated to you, hoping it was a wonderful one my dear friend! ![]() MK, you must get a Garmin or some type of GPS, you can find your way all over any city, including KC. I have had a Garmin Nuvi for several years and just upgraded to a new one that has blue tooth incorporated into it, it was wonderful in Omaha. If you have never had a GPS, I highly recommend it, I even use it here in Dallas b/c the Dallas Ft. Worth area is so big there is no way you learn your way around all of it. One thing I like is in Points of Interest, you just put in the name of a store, or a restaurant, etc. and it starts finding them for you, starting with the closest one to where you are at right at the present. No excuses next time you go to KC, ![]() . The one I got was around $400 retail but I found it online for $200.Sandy, I totally like the ACV for Gerd/reflux. I still take nexium which I would also like to get off but there are times when that isn't even enough and when that happens I take a swig of ACV and my heartburn is gone. My very pregnant DIL has had heartburn badly during her pregnancy and I finally got her to try the vinegar, it worked and she was so thankful she finally tried it. Cindy, the pics you posted of your vacation were awesome, thanks so much for sharing them. Was that your handsome BF on the zip line? Donna, yes, PMS smptoms are much easier on LC, you often read to limit sugary treats during PMS but of course, you totally crave sweet, then crunch during that time so it is hard, but if you can resist, it really helps! Susie, hey, get back on here and chat with us whether you are on plan or not, we are firstly a group of friends, and sometimes we even discuss our eating plans . It is such a great, caring group of friends. Will make another post about my trip to Omaha, and thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes.

My DB is in much worse shape than he was the last time I saw him. I really believe he has had another stroke, there was a major change in him while he was at the assisted living center where he fell numerous times, then went into a manic high like we have never seen before. He now is getting his balance back.
Anyway, to make a long story short, after a day of conflict, and spending a lot of time talking to my niece and nephew, my SIL and I were able to put our differences aside and come together to put my brother's best interest first and foremost. We spent a lot of time talking and she is going to try much harder to treat him kinder and gentler and try to put the past behind them and I came to realize that although they can't seem to get along, they do love each other and would truly miss having each other. I told her I would do anything I could to help but to please treat him kindly and with respect. He will never be where he can leave a care center unless there is a miracle in his condition and he is so angry about this that it is very very hard to deal with him or even have a conversation with him. I probably do that better than anyone in the family so I spent hours with him trying to calm him and talk to him and will continue to do that over the phone until I can get back to spend time with him again. Sometimes he makes sense and other times he does not but the anger is the hardest to deal with and when he finds out that he is going to be moved to yet another care center it will be ugly. Right now, he thinks he will go home when he gets out of this hospital, we try to tell him that he has to be moved to another care center but the darn doctors just kind of placate him so he doesn't believe us. I don't know if he will ever find peace and happiness again, the combination of the bi-polar with the dementia is a sad situation to be in. |

Buffy, I'm so sorry your brother is going through this but thank goodness he has you for an advocate. It sounds like you're the voice of reason in the sea of chaos and that's always welcomed. I'm sure it's very difficult for you being so far away. I'll continue to remember him and you in my prayers. And the rest of his family as well.
Someday we'll all have to get together somewhere. That would be so much fun!! I feel like I know you all so it would be almost like a reunion!

Hi ladies,
Oh..Buffy..Dementia is bad enough, but combined with bi-polarism, it is bad. Sometimes as the dementia progresses, they get more mellow..This happened with my mom..It was worse when she knew what was going on..in and out. Still praying for him.. Gary is driving to Terra Haute today..It's his birthday...how fun is that..??? Anyway, Brett and I celebrated by going out to lunch after church, then onto Harry Potter..great movie and it went very fast..Can't wait for the last episode. Carolyn is totally back on track starting tomorrow.. |

Buffy wishes to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes.
Buffy also wishes she had the discipline that MK has when it comes to exercising. Buffy also wants to get to meet all of you one day, we have all become such good friends on here. Buffy is tired and thinks she should get to bed. Buffy sends you all hugs and kisses. |

Mary Kay has spin class this morning and then needs to get to the grocery store and the bank before she comes home to try out a couple of Christmas cookie recipes for an exchange next week. She'll be cleaning while she's baking! Mary Kay has a busy day. OK - this is fun! ![]() |

Sandy has been very busy today. She cleaned, did laundry and put up her tree. She thinks a free month w/o a weigh in is a good idea and agrees that January might be the ideal month.
Sandy would like to know how the P. Deen cookies turn out. She has to make 2 doz. cookies next week for a church event. She also has Christmas cookie day with the younger grandkids next week too. She is sad as it will be the last year for the older one as he's a senior this year. They always seem to make their senior year their last year for making Christmas cookies with Nanny. Now it'll just be me and my youngest granddaughter for the next 6 years. It's been a great tradition that I started when the oldest grandson (25 now) was only 2. I'm sure his baby will enjoy the same tradition with his grandma, my DD. But I'm officially retiring my rolling pin when the last grandchild graduates from high school, lol. |

Oh, I forgot to report that I only gained 1.6 over the T-giving weekend. I think not feeling very good really helped, lol. The stomach flu is going around here. I'm not sure if I had a very slight touch of that or just overindulged. Whatever it was I didn't feel very well. My DIL told me my son came home today and has been violently sick all day long. Ick!! And my brother had it all night the night before T-giving. It doesn't seem to last very long, thank goodness.
And Sandy is back on plan today!! |

Hi ladies...
Carolyn made some LC chocolate chip cookies..very nommie. Carolyn only ate one..She thought that was a minor miracle right there..LOL. Oh..Sandy, that is good for Tday weightgain.. ![]() Hey..Brett has an interview for an Engineering job in town. It's a small company called Kansas Aviation. The head of the company goes to our church, but since Brett has been gone, he doesn't know him. I'm sure he is not thrilled with a job here, but it is a start, I think.. Carolyn would like to know how Paula turned out, too..I'm going to check this out and maybe make it LC.. |

Cindy - Mary Kay doesn't get to taste either. All the cookies have real butter in them and since I can't have that . . . .
DS18 liked the ones I cooked too long - they were more brown and sweeter - he said! Hmmmmmm About skipping a weigh-in month - I'm weighing daily anyway, so whatever you all would like! ![]() Carolyn - Go Brett!! Sandy - ![]() |
