Shrinking Pumpkins Challenge for October..

Hi..

I need to change my weight. I was down one whole pound from last month..:)

TuscanGirl 10-01-2010 05:25 AM

Morning!!

Carolyn - WTG!!! :high5:

I've only lost .6, but I'm at a new low ~ 116.6!

LOVE the title!!

Yesterday was busy.
I cleaned most of the house, got a massage and then went to a soccer game ~ we tied, but since it was against a team that's 12-1, we considering it a win! :high5:

DD23 came home about midnight but I was already asleep, so I get the privilege of waking her up this morning! :D

CindyCRNA 10-01-2010 06:49 AM

Its all in the siggy! I guess that's why they call it maintenance!

Work today, back up tomorrow, work Sunday so busy weekend. Have a good one!

sjl330 10-01-2010 07:27 AM

Still 149.8 this a.m. No gain (whew), no loss (shoot) but I'll take it. Considering how I was all over the scale the whole month I'd just about consider it a minor miracle, lol.

Dharma 10-01-2010 09:31 AM

Hey all you skinnies! I was down .6 this morning, so I've lost 4 pounds since Monday. It's about to slow down I'm sure.

I'm at a weight that has kindof been a sticking point for me so I need to be strong this weekend. I watch a lot of football on the weekends and it's hard not to snack a lot during the games (not to mention having cocktails). But there's time for that when I'm at goal, right?

This has been a fast week for me at work (work at a CPA firm). Slow today so I will probably be leaving early. Looking forward to a weekend with no plans so I can just relax.

We're having really warm weather here in Colorado so I'm lovin' it!

Have a good day everyone.

CarolynF 10-01-2010 10:21 AM

Hi ladies..

Prayers for Buffy's safe travel to NE..

Glad we all did okay this month..It is totally amazing to me how the "set point" theory
works..To lose or gain something drastic has to happen..like many carbs..

Dharma..we are so glad you are back with us and back on track. We are having great weather here, too..

Goal weights, anyone?? Cindy is at the perfect weight for her..I would really like to be
140..:) Maybe I should actually set a goal for the Shrinking Pumpkins Challenge in honor of the Great Pumpkin..Let's see..I will shoot for 145 by November 1st..:)

sjl330 10-01-2010 11:45 AM

I'm going to shoot for 147. I should go look what day of the week the 1st comes on before I make any major goals, lol.

Lisa, I hear you on the football and snacking/drinking. They just seem to go so well together but you're right. It will all still be available in the future forever.

CarolynF 10-01-2010 03:24 PM

Hi..

Yes, the other day I was watching football and thinking popcorn at the same time.
It's safer at home, though than in the stands of a real game..:)

Goodbye potluck for our neighbors tonight. I made Jennifers Ganache Cheesecake yesterday..Will let you know how it is.

TuscanGirl 10-02-2010 02:46 PM

:hiya:

Fun times with DD23!!

I just want to hold at this weight for a month!

CarolynF 10-02-2010 04:37 PM

Hi..

:) Worked selling ticket this morning for our Neewollah festival late in October.
I got up way too early for me..

There is a German Fest in town (the Lutheran Church) . I'd like to go and get a schnitzel...we will see if the boys want to go.

CarolynF 10-02-2010 07:05 PM

Went to the German Fest..Fun..Great polka music with nobody doing the polka..:( They don't have many Polish peeps in our town..

I know my Dr. will want me to get the fu shot with my history. DH never does but he's so healthy,
Brother sounds good, they have decreased and changed his meds and that is really helping. Must do more extensive testing before he can even think of leaving there so I am going up to see him this weekend. He is looking forward to it. Will also be able to see my DD and cousin while I am there, so can combine it all.
Need to finish up 2009 taxes today and get them ready to go to CPA. Can you say "geez, last minute, once again"?????
Tomorrow pack and get my nails done. Will leave bright and early Fri. AM so that I get there in time for visiting hours Fri. eve.
It has been years and years since I have driven in Omaha, thank heavens for my GPS. Looks like it has gone west, west, west. Used to shop at Crossroads years ago and can remember when Westroads was new and da bomb!!! Think Crossroads is pretty much gone by now and I think I heard Westroads had gone downhill as well. My DD and cousin know the town pretty well though.
Any great restaurants out on west loop of 680 Susie? That is probably where we will be staying.

Im going to answer too late to help you with resturant choices but there are tons of them in W. Omaha!

Crossroads was recently bought by the same guy who built OakView Mall and a big renovation is planned. Praise the Lord! Hubby and I still go there several times a week to walk and drink Starbucks while reading at Barnes and Nobles. Love that nice quiet time. Hope your brother is doing well!

Lost 2#s for Sept. Ive decided to try HHCG for this next month and see if I can really jump start my losses. Im in denial that NEXT MONTH is Thanksgiving and the start of Christmas season!!!!!

CarolynF 10-02-2010 08:05 PM

Susie: Good for you..You still need to post here, too even though you are doing the HHCG, k?

Yeah, Girl!! I'm kinda whatever and this is home! We want to here how you do! I saw on another thread you were diabetic. Are you insulin or oral meds?

Im on insulin (on my siggy). Im hearing some really interesting things on the HCG threads and thought, what the heck, might give it a try. When I was over in Europe in the 1970's (hubby was a medic there) a Dr on the base was doing a HCG weightloss clinic and quite a few of the gals in my TOPS group were losing well. I was intrigued and still am! I will always be comfortable in this thread and would not leave.

CarolynF 10-03-2010 01:13 PM

Hi..

Yup, it was jacket weather this morning, too. Fall is here for at least a day..:)

I do have some HCG drops here..I used one bottle, but I can't do the fat-free plan very well..My doctor gives the shots..But it's $500 a month..no way..

:) Gotta start knitting another hat for the troops..:) They are easy and the "boys" appreciate them..It's called The Ship Project if anyone is interested.

Carolyn, Im not going fat free. I joined a thread of gals who do NOT follow protocol and theyre losing fine. The starter of the thread has come to believe that the HCG is not only a fat burner but also an appetite suppressant even with higher calories. I wont do the strict protocol because, well, it reminds me too much of *******. EW!

Hi ladies..

Good for you, Susie. Keep us posted..Did you start already?

It's 36 so far, but will make it up to the 70's..

I'm dying my hair with that 10 minute root stuff. I hope my roots are the same color
as last month's "color"..LOL.

My friend June (who went back with her hubby) is coming for a lunch visit on the way
to see her sister in Wichita. Our BStudy will meet with her..Should be fun..Of course,
we will go out..:) I'll have a salad..:)

Time to wash this stuff out..Cya later.

Loved Courtney's pictures on facebook, MK..

susique333 10-04-2010 07:36 AM

Just took a pan of brownies out of the oven for the rest of the family, Carolyn I think Im going to make your torte for Brigid and I so we dont feel left out! I LOVE using the oven now that it is cold out!

Havent started the hhcg drops yet, ordered them off line and they should come soon.

CarolynF 10-04-2010 12:59 PM

Oh..I hope you like the torte..

Okay, I was a good SP (Shrinking Pumpkin) at our Italian lunch. I ordered a meatball sub without the bread..So basically 5 big meatballs/sauce in a dish..Honestly, I could only eat 2, so I have leftovers or ds will eat them tomorrow..

sjl330 10-04-2010 01:34 PM

Yum!!!

CindyCRNA 10-04-2010 02:14 PM

Took DC17 to the vet today as she has a small mass on her hip. He did a needle biopsy and is sending it to pathology. He is concerned it is a fibrosarcoma which is a non-metastatic, fast growing, aggressive cancer. This is the smallest one he has seen as many owners wait til it is the size of an egg and then it is too late. We will know probably Wed. She will need surgery if that is what it is and aggressively resect it as they tend to come back. If left untreated, it will grow fast and wrap around her spine and that will kill her. So we will know Wed. If it is fibrosarcoma, I am relieved to know it is considered small and should be fairly easy to get out. Poor DC. I will keep you apprised.

On a happy note, I made a black bean cake for BF who topped it with SF pudding and he loved it. That really is a good cake.

MK, I just noticed all of our Avi's are our pets but yours. Do you have pets?

sjl330 10-04-2010 02:29 PM

I remembered to buy some SF chocolate pudding today. I want to try that with my LC choc cake too.

Poor kitty. It's so hard when our fur babies are sick. Hopefully they'll get it out of there and she'll be fine in no time.

CarolynF 10-04-2010 05:44 PM

Oh, Cindy..Your DC is so lucky to have a Nurse for a Mommy..Prayers for all of you.

Grumble: Brett didn't get the Genesys KCity job..He wasn't a good fit for his qualifications.
We are still plugging away..Methinks this will be a long process unless the economy does a miracle turn around..;)

sjl330 10-04-2010 05:48 PM

Did he hear back from Lake City yet? He is a mechanical engineer, right?

susique333 10-04-2010 07:08 PM

Oh darn Cindy. Is this the momma horse that was lame (if I remember rightly) a few weeks back? Sending real positive thoughts your way!!

MamaAngie 10-04-2010 08:27 PM

Sorry, made a mistake ... and posted on the wrong thread ...

sjl330 10-04-2010 08:44 PM

Susie, I think Cindy's cat is the one with the tumor, not the horse. She has a whole menagerie of fur babies who own her. Right Cindy?
