Finally worked in the garage some. though we have to save stuff for the garage sale DH keeps saying he's going to have . . . . right!

It'll take a while to get the car in though.
Maybe next weekend we can do more . . . Sigh.

We stained our hot tub deck today and DGS will come tomorrow to do the deck staining. It'll be so nice when it's done. When I start in on my fall cleaning I'm going to declutter like we're moving into a 2 BR retirement center. I hope I'm able to actually do it when the time comes. I'm really tired of clutter and I don't bring near as much stuff home as I used to. I want to simplify my life. It'll be hard to let go of some stuff but I'm going to try to be merciless, lol.

I need to work on my Bible study too. I think it's going to be harder this year. They said this first week would be the hardest so maybe it'll get easier. I hate having so much homework, lol. Some things never change I guess, lol.

LOL..Is your dh actually going to organize his garage sale??? I'm impressed, MK.

It will be nice when your staining is done and the weather is nice enough that it is so hot.
Simplify is always a good thing, I think.

Carolyn - in theory!

Sandy - I wish I could do that! The easiest way to declutter would be to give your stuff to the kids and grandkids!

Weird night - DS18 can't sleep (nightmare i think) so he wants to sleep with me - DH has already moved to the couch because HE couldn't sleep.

I take DS18 back to his room and get him settled in there.
10 minutes later he's back and i let him since it seems to be the only way I'm getting any sleep.

Then at 3:00am DH is in our room because he's looked all over the house for DS18 and can't find him anywhere! Our room is his last resort since DS's car and phone are still there.

When he finds him, he's asking him why he's in our room (still following me?) - like he's going to get a coherent answer at 3:00am.

I'm not sure I got any sleep last night!

I hate nightmares! I hope you all get a good night's sleep tonight. You better fix everybody warm milk before bed.

My falling weight got caught "up" in the wind this weekend. I'm back on track today though. I wish DGS would get here so the deck would have plenty of time to dry before any early Tues. morning rain. He never sleeps late??? So he'll probably be here soon.

Morning!
Acckkk, MK, sounds like the whole house was up roaming about. I still have a long table in my garage filled with leftovers from our last garage sale, left there b/c we were going to "soon" have another. It is 2 years now and I keep adding to the stuff so maybe one of these days we will either have another garage sale or just haul it all off. I keep telling my kids, grandkids, visitors that they have to pick a free gift from our gifting table to take home when they leave . Once in awhile I palm something off on someone.

Sandy, will be nice to get your deck finished and hopefully, dry, before the rain.
I am with you on the declutter phase of our lives. The last couple of times I have done a good deep cleaning, I have gotten rid of lots of things and like you, I don't bring nearly as much home as I used to. For one thing, unless it can set out in sight, I can't remember what I have, so it does me no good to get something and store it, I never even remember I have it when it might come in handy to use. And still, the house slowly gets recluttered again and again. I dread the thought of my kids having to sort through all of this someday. The 2 things I still buy too much of is jewelry and cosmetics, just can't pass up the sales and free offers on these 2 things. At least they are usually pretty small items,

You mentioned that you would like to find out and attend some of the cosmetic/beauty events at your stores, the best way is to get acquainted with someone in the cosmetic dept. so that they can put you on their email list or mailing list, or phone list to call you when events are going on. At my Neimans, I have gotten close to a sales associate there, she doesn't work for any of the brands, she is a sales associate for Neimans, so she can sell from anywhere in the store and knows quite a bit about the different brands. So, whenever anything is going on there, and a lot of their things are invitation only, she will email me, call me or text me and ask me if I would like to attend. If there is going to be a special sale, she lets me know about that. If they start carryng something new, she lets me know. I am very surprised because to be honest, I spend a pittance in there of what some of the weathy people must spend but she seems to really like me and I think it is b/c I am down to earth unlike many that she deals with. Anyway, it sure gets me in to some fun and lovely events and items.

Carolyn, enjoy your free time with your boys out.

everyone!!! Hope we all have great weeks. I can't mention what my weight is, last time I did it jinxed me into overeating

Hi ladies..

Buffy: That is a great idea..and parting gift is a good way of saying it, MK..

Gosh, your deck was thirsty, Sandy...but it will be happy this winter all covered up.

Newsflash on Brett's car..Four weeks later, they got it on the diagnostic machine, called Ford and found out it was the fuel filter instead of the transmission..They are only
going to charge me one hour of diagnostic testing.. Boys are gone, I'll have a friend drop me off in the a.m. to get it.

Sandy, it was the darndest thing! Let me preface this with I DON'T HAVE BACK PROBLEMS!! However, I unloaded the truck, unloaded feed, horses ect, took a shower and was reaching up on a top bunk to get something and my back went into the worst back spasm I have ever had in my life! You know the ones where it feels like someone just stabbed you in the back?? But it only lasts less than 5 seconds? Mine lasted 10 hours!! I laid down (I was going to bed anyway) thinking this will be fine in the morning. Remember, I'm in Collins MO now with 2 teenagers and 3 horses!

Well, it hurt all night but wasn't as bad lying down. But as I tried to stand, it started again and I felt like I was having someone take a hot poker to my lumbar region! I made it up on 1 arm and I started to get light headed. "Aunt Cindy, do you want me to help you get up?" "No, honey, Aunt Cindy is going to lay on the floor for awhile!" And I spent the next 30 minutes inspecting underneath the bed! What was happening was a "vagel response". You know when something hurts so bad, you pass out! Yup, I was on the floor! With a ton of effort and crawling, I managed to stand, only to drop again upon reaching the bathroom!

To shorten this story, I begged borrowed and pleaded for all the Aleive and Ibuprofen I could take at any one time. And made it thru the weekend. I thought I was going to have to have someone come down and pick me up! Which is why the list of Pics is small. I took horse pics early and nothing after "the event!"

First ever chiropractor visit today! Thank God it's not a disk, just a rotated sacroiliac joint. So more chiro vists.

AGING SUCKS!!!! But mama's babies are pretty!!

Oh no Cindy. I can feel your pain. Good thing you got right into a chiro; they'll fix you up in no time. You were a real trooper to keep on keepin' on all weekend. I'm sure you made sure the girls still had a wonderful time. Those back "things" are the strangest things to try to predict or understand. I hope yours isn't a recurring event.

Love your horses Cindy, they are so pretty. That 2nd picture is great.
Sorry about your back though, hope you are better soon.

Sandy, wow, that deck is thirsty. And I know that stuff is expensive.

Good news on Brett's car.

Yes, MK, I think you need your own "parting gift" table.

I'm hoping to do more work around the house today - it certainly needs it!
Then a soccer game tonight ~ if it doesn't rain!
Well, they'll still play if it rains, I just won't be there!

I tried Vegemite last night.
It was . . . . interesting . . . .

Just waiting for it to get light enough outside to walk.
It's coming later and later . . . .

Hi ladies..

Oh..I don't know if I am brave enough to try Vegemite..It's huge in the UK..I've seen in the Lawrence, KS at Brit's..(English shop).

Rain, sun, rain, sun..

I keep a bag going for our local clothes closet, too..

Well, four weeks later, Brett's car is done..Only $145..which is a minor miracle in itself.
He has to drive it to KC this Saturday for the KSU/ISTate game, so it will get a good test drive..

Bible study...and some laundry.

Busy day again. I started running errands and they just seemed to grow as I went. Then I made some more yogurt. I found some 1/2 pint jelly jars that will fit into my yogurt maker so I don't have to wait until we eat it all until I make more. I added stevia and vanilla to a few of the jars to see how that works.

Morning peeps.
We had a thunderstorm last night, not sure how much rain b/c it didn't last long, sunny and bright this morning.
I need to look at today's forecast b/c I am supposed to pick up DGS 10 after school, we will go get a snack and then I am taking him to baseball practice at 5:30. He doesn't get home this year until 4:30, so it cuts our time short.
Friday night DGS 2 is coming out with his Mommy and then she is leaving him to spend the night with us for the first time. I have stayed with him many times at his house, but this is the first time to stay here. I am excited, and I think he will be fine with it.
Well girls, I had some dysport shots in my forehead and my crows feet on Monday, it is a newer type product like Botox, supposed to last a little longer and be less expensive. The center where I went was giving a 20% discount. I have never had anything done before so I am a little anxious about if it is going to actually work but very excited. I am going back on Monday to have some filler put in the lines between my nose and mouth. I don't want to have anything as drastic as a facelift but sure wouldn't mind turning back the clock just a little. I hate that my eye area looks like I am tired and or frowning all the time, so decided to give this a try. I will keep you all updated. And Cindy, I am going to try a retin A product as well, I know you swear by it. They sell the Obagi skin care line, does anyone use it? Their rep was there with the most beautiful glowing skin you ever saw, sure would make a believer out of you. And, you girls know what a sucker I am for anything in skin care or cosmetics, I LOVE, Love them.

Also, if any of you read about the Argan oil, I have been using that on my arms, legs, neck and chest area and it is awesome, makes those areas so soft and smooth looking. It soaks in quickly, like my skin is just drinking it up. I found a cheaper alternative to the first kind I bought on ebay, anxious to get it and see if I like it as well.

WEight still staying down but I won't jinx it by giving a number, just trying to get it down another lb to reach a new low, yay!!!
