Good morning ladies and Gord (we want to visit you and cool off)

Sandy: I'm surprised that Braum's hasn't gone to KC..but it is an OK based company and may be too far north. I love their steaks..They sell veggies and fruit, etc.now and it is very convenient..

Coconut milk does fine in puddings..I always thought Carb Countdown did okay, too..hmmm?? The CMilk comes in cans..and is about $1.25 a can.

Lots of peeps are into raw dairy..I guess it would be handy if you had a cow in the backyard, although my dh hated to milk the old cow when he was a boy..

Keep cool..at least we all have airconditioning, which I am very grateful for.

Brett and I went out to a new restaurant in town..Kind of a nice bar. I had a bunless burger and a few onion rings that were hand dipped..OMGoodness..

We are well over 100.

Morning gals! Ive been MIA but hopefully life has settled down enough to get back on plan! Had a fun trip to Phoenix but came home just in time to get kids ready for school. Ungodly hot and humid in Omaha this week, dangerous heat indexes of 115 most afternoons.
Buffy, love your new "Do"! I wear mine short like that with the bangs brushed over to the side. Im almost temped to go down to 2" all over like I did last summer.

Cindy, my husband is from Chicago! Did you go to Navy Pier? I love downtown Chicago so much (after I learned to sidestep the transients). I love Pizza UNOS, talk about sinfull pizza! We can now get UNOS in our freezer case at our local chain grocery store......NOT the same as fresh.

We did go to Navy Pier but I like Michigan Ave better. We used to have an Unos here but I think they closed all the local ones.

Not much going on here, DGS and the kitten came to visit today and I am doing the usual around here, office work and laundry. It is either that or run run run and I enjoy both.

Hot again here too. And I don't feel very well. Yesterday and again today I feel nauseous (sp) and headachey. I hope I don't have a flu bug. Ugh.

I need to go sign Bailey up for the pup swim. She goes every year and loves it. It's Sat. morning and it's maybe going to be a bit cooler Sat. I also have to bake 2 items for the bake sale. I think I'm just going to make 2 pineapple upside down cakes. One of my friends already told me to put her name on one; she wants to buy it for sure, lol.

I just use a yellow cake mix for the cake part and then butter, brown sugar and pineapple on the bottom of the pan. For the liquid in the cake I use the pineapple juice. Very easy, very good.

I love Michigan Ave.!!! You guys are sure making me want to take a trip there.

You naughty thing! Carolyn, you may be able to do a reduced carb one by using a white bean cake and just pineapple/sweetener/chopped pecans on the bottom.

Productive day -the pantry is cleaned out, I have new hair and some errands are done.
The days are just too short!

MK: Holy smokes, MK..I can barely walk to the car with this 103 degree weather..I'm proud of you.

NO news from Brett's job interview..I am hoping they will call him even if it is a "no"..

My friend Dianne called him to cut down a crab apple tree in their yard tomorrow.
We have a chainsaw and I imagine Brett knows how to use it.

Got a new faucet for the sink..I thought Brett might be able to put it in, but I think
you have to remove the garbage disposal..so I think I'll call the plumber instead.
Water is very messy.

Morning!

Sandy - the Brazilian Blowout is lasting great!!

I'll repeat it at my next haircut in September to make sure my hair lasts through Fall, then i hopefully won't have to do it again until Spring!

I walk around 6:00am (as soon as it gets light) and not again until after 8:00pm when it gets dark. It's much cooler both times!
DD26 didn't want to walk when she got home from work, so I only got 2 in yesterday. *pout*
I miss DD23!!

Carolyn - it's more fun to believe you're psychic!

Fingers crossed for Brett that no news is good news!

Off to play in Champaign today!

So happy the Brazilian blowout is lasting..Kinda like a perm lasts, huh? Yes, no news is good news if they let him know either way.

Did my exercise, got my coffee..Dh is driving home today from his TX trip..He made it to Arkansas last night, so he is coming for lunch, then driving to work. Of course,
I don't make lunch here..So, maybe he can have eggs/cheese..

I think it is supposed to cool down to 86 on Monday...That will be nice.

Hmmm..I think it would be fine to make today and then cover and refrigerate for tomorrow. It's good when the "goo" goes into the cake and it might be even better if you bake it today..

Alex enjoys going out to the garage even when it's 98 degrees out there.

That's what I thought and my family loves them after they sit a day so I went ahead and baked them. I sure hope they sell!! I'll be really embarrassed if they don't, lol. They're very pretty, if I do say so myself.

Dh is going to jumpstart Brett on his job search again..This OK job seems unlikely cuz they are taking so long..I would rather have him near KCity..but whatever God wants
is best. He cut down a tree for my friend, Dianne and brought the limbs over to our
burn pile.

Hey, we might go to the teeny Rodeo at Coffeyville..It will be hot tomorrow night, but
I can go sleeveless over there and no one looks twice..LOLOL.

Good morning..

Hair is all one color now..It starts out darker and gets lighter as the weeks progress..Then I have to get it back to my root color..LOL.

Not much going on today..I think the boys are renting some scaffolding to put up my last new window treatment..It's at a very high place..and the windows need to be washed at the same time..

Should go to town to the farmer's market this morning before it gets too hot..

Have a good day and hope MK treats her dh to a nice bday dinner..

OK - take my review with a grain of salt. I didn't like the movie for the same reasons I didn't like the book.

Mainly it's the author herself ~ she's difficult to like. It's hard to get past the fact that's she so self-involved and at times borderline hysterical.

Julia Roberts did make her more likable, but I still didn't care.
I couldn't relate to her life because the rest of us have to make do with whatever spiritual growth and self-discovery comes from our day to day lives.

Maybe I'm just jealous!
But I was bored.

Hair is all one color now..It starts out darker and gets lighter as the weeks progress..Then I have to get it back to my root color..LOL. Not much going on today..I think the boys are renting some scaffolding to put up my last new window treatment..It's at a very high place..and the windows need to be washed at the same time.. Should go to town to the farmer's market this morning before it gets too hot.. Have a good day and hope MK treats her dh to a nice bday dinner.. LOL..
